Richard "Lucifer" Hoydurian Dares Say ABiaS-CBN Entertainment Is At Par With K-Dramas

Is it me or does "Lucifer" strike with yet another idiotic argument again? I'm calling Richard Foronda Heydarian (or Hoydurian) "Lucifer" because he strikingly resembles Tom Ellis of the Netflix series Lucifer . Okay, enough of the jokes, and I'm going to really write this post in response. It's amazing how "Lucifer" himself had a video called "Parliamentary Chaos". Now, this one really makes me laugh when he said that, ABiaS-CBN has had good quality films and entertainment that match Koreanovelas and other foreign telenovelas. Wait... WUT? That's why I'm laughing right now. Did "Lucifer" himself watch the K-Drama called Glitch on Netflix (maybe, in some dark lair of his) thinking that Jeon Yeo Bin and Jin A Nana are Angel Locsin Colmenares-Arce and Shaina Garcia Magdayao? Please, both Korean actresses lack the sexy body (and I'll probably LMAO if I saw both girls in bikinis) that their Filipino doppelgangers hav...

Why "Juvenile Justice" Currently In Netflix PH's Top Ten This Week Might Be A Good Thing

Looking for what to watch on Netflix can be a hard thing, right? Not all the recommendations are myp type especially if it's SJW or LGBT type. Sorry, no offense, okay? Anyway, I decided to think about how it might be a good thing that Juvenile Justice is in the top ten. Most of the Koreanovelas that enter the top ten are love stories or fantasy stories such as Kingdom Monarch or Bulgasal . It's fun to watch fantasy stories every now and then. However, I think realistic fiction such as Juvenile Justice can be better aside from every other crime-based K-Drama that will kick Coconuts Martin's sorry butt . Sure, one can enjoy how Vincenzo kicks the butt of Cardo Dalisay. However, this one may have more weight than how Vincenzo is showing how Ang Probinsyano is going stale from its overstay on television .  Presidento Rodrigo R. Duterte criticized vice president aspirant, Senator Kikoman Pangilinan, regarding the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act . The law itself wasn't pro...

The Pinoy Music Mandate Bill Really Shows A Sore Loser Mindset That's Afraid Of Competition

Is it me or is the Philippines really fond of band-aid solutions? What I didn't realize is how Vice President aspirant, Representative Lito Atienza, really has to be one of the writers of a very stupid bill. I just read of a bill that requires planes to play Pinoy music upon landing . This really shows just how shortsighted Filipin lawmakers can be. I would also present some parts of this proposal that makes it rather STUPID even for a nobody blogger like myself. The House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading a draft measure that would mandate the playing of Filipino songs in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourist buses, and all inbound international flights . Voting 179-0-0, the chamber approved on Monday House Bill No. 10305, which requires international flights, upon landing in the Philippines, to devote at least 50 percent of its piped-in music to Filipino songs. Under the bill, 50 percent of the playlist of tourists buses must be local song s while the ...

The Moment Choi Jin Hyuk's Hiatus Due To COVID-19 Violation Puts ABiaS-CBN Celebrities To Shame

One of the news I've missed from South Korea is Choi Jin Hyuk's temporary hiatus because of his negligence . The reason was because Jin Hyuk went to meet an old friend in a bar that was illegally open. The result was that he was caught at around 8:20 P.M.  on October 6 this year. Rather than make excuses - Jin Hyuk decided to issue an apology, stepped away from the My Little Boy variety show, and will take the time to reflect on his actions. I guess he donated much of his money during 2020 but that didn't make him make an excuse for what he did. He knew he can't excuse himself and did the right thing for this blunder. The incident makes me think that it's a far fetch from what the ABiaS-CBN celebrities did last 2020. Well, who can EVER forget how the ABiaS-CBN celebrities were regarding their franchise? The ABiaS-CBN celebrities decided to act like the franchise was more important than defeating COVID-19 . The ABiaS-CBN celebrities gave their flood of rants while th...

Why Don't The Anti-Constitutional Reform Clowns Go To Singapore And Tell Their Parliament That The 1987 Constitution Is The "Best In The World"?

The Independent Singapore News Tomorrow will be Singapore's birthday, right? That would be the time of the year to celebrate the birth of one of the greatest success stories namely Singapore. The political dynasty of father to son (and yes, political dynasties aren't necessarily bad) from the late Lee Kuan Yew to Lee Hsien Loong. Hsien Loong had to prove he was capable of handling his father's legacy before he could become prime minister. Meanwhile, it's amazing that some people in the Philippines are still anti-reform as ever. Some people even go as far as to brag how the 1987 Constitution is supposedly the "best in the world" . This is the big challenge that anti-constitutional reform clowns need to do. I really challenge them to fly to Singapore AND tell the whole Singaporean Parliament, "Hey Singapore! Guess what? We've got the best constitution in the world!"  Just because Hsien Loong praised the late Noynoy Aquino doesn't mean that he...

Shaina Magdayao's Role As Roxanne Opena In "Ang Probinsyano" Doesn't Hold A Candle To Jin A Nana's Crime Drama Characters

It's time for yet another bit of random musing against the "all-time hit show" Ang Probinsyano . The show should've just ENDED years ago like any other show. Instead, i t's still going on and on to the point of absurdity . I would be now thinking about how the addition of Shaina Magdayao into the show last February 20, 2020, which was prior to the lockdown due to the Legacy Virus pandemic. Not to mention, it was also at that time when ABiaS-CBN celebrities showed their attitude when they acted their network was more important than defeating COVID-19 . I guess this another random musing since the inclusion of Shaina as Roxanne Opena in Ang Probinsyano is really, REALLY laughable. I just want to pour more salt into Ang Probinsyano not ever since their celebration of airing in AFRICA . Unless teleseryes start to air in first-world countries then there's nothing to celebrate about, right? IMHO, I also feel Shaina's addition is just for good looks and nothing m...

Sorry PEP.ph, Coconuts Martin's "Ang Probinsyano" Doesn't Hold A Candle To Song Joong Ki's "Vincenzo"

Last night was the conclusion of one of Netflix's Top Ten dramas, Vincenzo , a TV drama that Ang Probinsyano (referred to as Brother  in Netflix with only 50 episodes uploaded). Vincenzo had a total of 20 episodes which managed to finish an entire season with the right amount of tension within a given timeframe. Vincenzo managed to create another reason as to why Ang Probinsyano's 1,300+ episodes   is becoming a bad joke in contrast to Korean crime drama .  Just watching the finale last night made me think "Why hasn't Ang Probinsyano  really ended?" Sure, it could be a good idea to remake Ang Probinsyano into a TV series. However, ABiaS-CBN made it into the  the most pointless teleserye still running around . It's already six years and the misadventures of Cardo Dalisay (Coconuts Martin) are still ongoing with no end in sight. Vincenzo knew how to balance the action, drama, and the plots of an anti-hero's quest for revenge against Babel Corporation to pr...

Penoy Praydists Getting Offended Over That Alleged Racial Slur In "Make My Heart Smile" Proves They're Insecure, Butthurt Crybabies

I'm mad at China as a POLITICAL ENTITY but not the Chinese people as a whole. it was revealed at that earlier episode of an ongoing Chinovela called Make My Heart Smile has an alleged slur scene. The leading guy arrogantly tells the leading lady that her dress is like that of a Filipino maid. No surprise is that there are already BUTTHURT statements against the Chinovela for the statement. The incident caught me off-guard while giving me an idea for a Chinese New Year post. Yup, I really laughed just reading the post about it . This isn't really too surprising if you can remember the outrage in Hong Kong (last 2015) concerning the "offensive" textbooks? I was amazed at how the book really made them mad when the textbook promoted Filipinos as "domestic helpers". What did they want to be portrayed as? Conquerors of Hong Kong? Please, OFW means Overseas Filipino WORKER, not Overseas Filipino Warrior. When Filipinos work abroad -- they're under the authority...

The Irony That Protectionism-Benefited Local Telcos Are Using K-Pop Stars To Endorse Their Services

As the need for economic charter change is ON -- I really feel like I want to speak of the ongoing irony with the protectionism-benefited local telecommunications companies or telcos for short. This irony is portrayed in the fact that they benefit from protectionism then they decide to hire KOREAN endorsers to promote their services. Did the rise of DITO (which has part-Chinese ownership) eventually force them to do desperate measures? You may notice ads on Youtube, mobile game ads, or whatever may have Park Seo Joon endorsing Smart by PLDC or Blackpink endorsing Globe. You may also notice other stars like Lee Min Ho and Park Seo Joon keep appearing in the ads. Wait, I thought the call for protectionism was based on nationalism? If they're so nationalistic then why are they now having KPop stars endorse their telco services? This reminds me of an old article I wrote about  how theaters and TV stations in the Philippines have become heavily reliant on imported shows . The media indu...

South Korea's Culture Of Excellence Is Because It's FDI Friendly, Philippines' Lack Of It Is Because Of Protectionism

It's no doubt that Start-Up has become the number one trending K-Drama this week. I remembered writing some time about Filipino K-Pop fans and the K-Dramas that enter into Netflix's top ten . I was simply inspired to finally write about South Korea's culture of achievement in sciences and technology - something that Benign0 of Get Real Philippines (GRP) either doesn't get it or refuses to get as to WHY the Philippines doesn't have it . While watching Start-Up - I wonder if Filipino fans of the show are too busy on their fandom of Suzy Bae or the love story than the whole idea of a start-up. I just felt like writing about South Korea's culture of achievement in sciences and technology - something that wouldn't be possible if the Japanese didn't introduce newer stuff for many to evolve like rice cookers and DVD technology. Though, my favorite example is always the rice cooker because unlike the Betamax and VHS - rice cooker is still evolving while the o...

Hyderabadi-Style Indian Food: A Massive Investment Opportunity In The Bicol Region

Cultural immersion can be fun, isn't it? While I was Googling for turmeric in the Philippines - it turns out that the Bicol region actually is a pioneer in growing turmeric. Turmeric has been used in a variety of dishes such as Middle Eastern and South Asian dishes. Bicol also grows a lot of chilies which they use in their Magayon Festival. This would be an opportunity for Indian restaurant owners (who specialize in Hyderabadi-style foods) to open up in the Bicol region. At the same time, this would be an income opportunity for the Bicol region and in extension, the national government.  What's in common with Bicolanos and Hyderabadis? Bicolanos love spicy food and their food is said to be spicier than the rest of Filipino cuisine. Both Bicolanos and Hyderabadis use coconut milk in some of their dishes. Some Indian curry would use coconut milk as a flavoring over ghee (which is clarified butter). I've heard of fish curry cooked with coconut milk in India - think of it a spi...

Why Filipinos Should Check Out The Journalist-Themed K-Drama "Argon"

I was looking at Netflix Philippines' top ten. It was good that the cringy indie movie Pamilyang Ordinaryo was featured because it's an eye-opener. However, the K-Dramas that tend to get into Netflix's Top Ten are usually romance stories . The recent top ten features It's Okay Not to be Okay which is also a romance story between an anti-social writer and an employee in a psychiatric hospital. Okay, it might be better than the teleserye love stories but it seems a lot of Filipino viewers only view it for better heartfelt stories. Right now, I really think that the K-Drama Argon would really be very relevant to Filipino society. Here's how the plot is described by The cat that watches TV : Argon is a drama about an investigative news program and its journalists, Kim Baek-jin (Kim Joo Hyuk) at the helm as the news anchor. He’s highly principled and a difficult boss to work with due to his perfectionism, but he inspires his juniors to treat news seriously and to co...

Filipino K-Pop Fans And K-Dramas That Enter Netflix's Top Ten Choices

While I don't deny that most K-Drama does things a lot better than the sh*tty teleseryes - it's still possible to enjoy a good product for a bad reason. I don't deny I've been guilty of doing too though I've also enjoyed a couple of shows where there's no attractive actress at all. The K-Drama The King: Eternal Monarch did become number one for weeks already. Before that, there was also Itaewon Club (which had too many woke sprinkles and bad plot twists so I DROPPED IT) and Crash Landing on You . Then The King: Eternal Monarch became part of the top ten but what about other K-Drama out there? Why haven't the more complex ones like the crime drama (which has several layers of mystery to it) got into the top ten list? I was totally boggled at how some K-Dramas seem to get ignored or never make it into the top ten. Previously, I remembered the talk about What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? which had Park Seo Jun and Park Min Young. The show did also air on ...

Korean Crime Dramas Beat The 1,100+ Episode Series "Ang Probinsyano"

This is really funny with that screenshot of Coconuts Martin where he brags that his show Ang Probinsyano is supposedly doing a great job for the country. Meanwhile, we've got Choi Jin Hyuk (who obviously doesn't speak Tagalog) responding, "You can't fool us with that!" as a joke. I just finished watching the OCN crime and sci-fi drama Rugal . Some people may be familiar with Jin Hyuk as the main protagonist and detective of Justice  aired on KBS-2. Maybe, I should've also compared Justice to Ang Probinsyano as well. While reading Get Real Philippines for some badly needed inspiration - I ran across a comment in this article called " Life goes on and GETS BETTER without #ABSCBN news and entertainment " where one comment from a certain Bongsky wrote the following: Honestly, I have to laugh at Bongsky who I'd call Bobosky for his comments. I can't comment too much on the first and second because I'm not a fan of Game of Thrones , T...

Erik Matti's Recent Whining Twit Shows That 100% Pinoy-Owned Media Is Based On A LOSER Mindset

The current Legacy Virus aka COVID-19 pandemic has really led to some Filipinos who can afford Netflix to binge-watch Netflix. Okay, not my idea really considering that I ended up watching Kill It followed by Justice on KissAsian   since both shows aren't available (but hopefully will be) on Netflix. An ongoing series I'm watching is Rugal which only shows once a week rather than twice a week broadcasts. The very comment that he wrote (screenshot above) is having him whining about Filipinos choosing to watch K-Drama galore over the local shows. He also calls them faux (fake) Cinderella stories with belofied actors whiter than white. Plus, he thinks it's all about love. Matti himself sees the daily top ten. He now sees that the future of Filipino movies and TV doomed. If he's going to complain about a "lack" of nationalism then make sure everything used wasn't imported. I remembered writing about the overcrowded premiere of Rurouni Kenshin last 2014 ...

Arrogant White People Better Fix #COVID19Outbreak In Their Home Countries First

In the recent light of current events - COVID-19 or the Legacy Virus  is already spreading faster than usual in some areas of the world. A recent report is that  the "greatest country in the world" (the United States of America or the US) has increased up to 135,000 confirmed cases . Another report also shows the  COVID-19 has become an epidemic in Europe too . This would really be another good time to hammer some arrogant white men. Not that I hate all white men but rather some arrogant white men who feel like they've got degrees in  B.S. Philippine Expertise  or even B.S. World Expertise. This was because of events where arrogant white people are meddling in Philippine politics. That's why I'm in favor of the Philippines not being part of the International Clown Court  (ICC). It doesn't take a genius to do some research about its history and why the ICC is just an international clown court and a criminal court only by name . What's my problem with s...
