Like It OR NOT, President Bobong Marcos Isn't Wrong To Mention Garbage As Why Floods Happen

Hate the president or love him -- I'm afraid that Bobong Marcos is right. Yes, I dislike the guy because he merely won because of POPULARITY POLITICS. 1987 Constipation is still da best in the world? Back on track -- Bobong hits SOME hard-hitting truth that people need to listen even if they don't like him .  Further, Marcos also said that improper waste disposal has also resulted in deep flood waters during heavy rains.  “Nagkaproblema lang. Sana matuto naman ang tao. Huwag kayong nagtatapon ng basura dahil ‘yung basura, ‘yun ang nagbara doon sa mga pump natin kaya hindi kasing effective na puwede, ” he added.  (We just had a problem. I hope people will learn. Please don’t simply throw your waste because these can clog our pumps, that’s why they are not that effective .)  In the aftermath of Super Typhoon Carina, several senators hit the implementation of flood control projects which they said were allocated hundreds of billions under the national budget yearly. As ...

Memories Of Typhoon Ruping And Its Bitter Aftermath

It's been 20 years since Typhoon Ruping took place. I decided to write this piece because Typhoon Rolly entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility weeks ago. I was five years old when Typhoon Ruping hit the Philippines on November 18, 1990. It was a horrible Category Five Super Typhoon. It was a powerful typhoon, and I remembered how horrifying it was. I could remember sleeping in total darkness during the evening. The worse thing was that there was no electricity for some time. I think it was ONE MONTH without electricity and the effects were that bad. It didn't help I used to live in an old ancestral house where ghost stories were being told a lot.  The typhoon was just the beginning of the disaster. It didn't help it was boiling hot, and there was no electricity. That means cold water became a luxury. I could remember how our neighbors would ask for water from us because we had a water pump. I could remember how it wasn't good for my late paternal grandmother to b...

How The Culture Of Littering Also Helped In The Philippines' Degradation

It's been a week or so since Boracay was reopened last October 26, 2018. I was reminded of my trip there last 2012 and I didn't enjoy it aside from a lot of stuff being too pricey there -- it was also how Boracay was now a cesspool. The sand wasn't as white as I expected and not to mention -- a lot of the LOCAL tourists were throwing their garbage left and right instead of throwing them at the proper place. The culture of littering has been prevalent not just during the Aquino Years  but even before it. I remembered living and growing up in the Philippines as a natural-born Filipino citizen during the Cory Years, the Ramos Years, the Estrada years and the Gloria years and the problem is the culture of littering -- I don't even need to wait until the next Earth Hour which unfortunately isn't really Earth hour if they can't even clean up their mess to start with! I could take myself back to the past when I was still below the teenage years. It's really st...

The Recent Manila Bay Incident Shows Throwing Your Garbage Everywhere Has Serious Consequences

Here's the latest news (which I got from CNN Philippines ) and it's not really pretty, is it? Manila Bay suddenly throws back ALL its garbage at Roxas Boulevard in Imperial Manila. It's not a pretty sight and this reminds me of what some stupid fat bloke said that getting fined for throwing your garbage anywhere is harsh punishment . It's time to ask the question of did the person get tortured for throwing garbage or served jail term or was the person who threw garbage anywhere just merely getting fined? Just looking at that incident inspired me to write this post that should be a warning that throwing your garbage just anywhere is not some harmless habit that you can just ignore. Instead, the whole incident is already a warning of how it has terrible consequences. Some stupid people say that throwing your garbage (which includes human body waste) just anywhere shouldn't harm anyone or if it doesn't affect me then I don't have the right to complain. WTF...

Will PNoys Also Blame President Duterte For The Recent Flood In Imperial Manila?

It's already an issue to blame whoever is in power. Then we have PNoys who are blaming President Duterte for just everything from supposedly endorsing EJKs, the latest shabu shipment from Tsina which was obviously NOT endorsed by the Chinese government as Agot Isidro  may suggest. Maybe they might also blame him for the floodings like there were no flooding under Noynoy's term. But let's wait a minute. Before those PNoys would raise their annoying PNoy Pride and say, "It's Duterte's fault that the flood happened."... let's take a review of how serious flooding became under their beloved Noynoy's term. Here's an interesting catch from Get Real Philippines which has been wrongly labeled as fake news by Dilawans because it so goes against them: President BS Aquino knew that there was great risk of another Ondoy-like flooding and that it could happen anytime especially during the rainy season. Alas, he did not mount a big enough effort to pr...

Pictures That Show Many Filipinos Take Floods Very Lightly

I have previously written about floods not being fun in the Philippines  and Imperial Manila's wrong attitude towards it , now it's time for me to present a short post showing how stupid people choose to be. Now be amazed, be very amazed. I always thought this is one of the stupidest things to do... floating a cushion and enjoying the dirty flood water. This somehow reflects the indifference of many Filipinos.

Imperial Manila SHOULD Stop Its Wrong Attitude Towards Floods And Typhoons!

Realizing that Typhoon Ruby is hitting the Philippines, it may be another cause to raise the issue, "When is Imperial Manila going to take action towards floods and typhoons?" Some areas of the Philippines have hardworking, dedicated Pinoys but sad to say, a lot of Pinoys are Failipinos. One can think of the idea that for them, they can still "smile" in every disaster in spite of the fact that you can't be happy all the time. It's that kind of attitude that sickens me. In life you don't always get sunshine. There is the statement, "If all we get is sunshine we get a desert." Now think of it, doesn't the rain ruin your day at times? You want to go to a picnic or fishing yet the rain kicked in. There's that nursery song that says, "Rain, rain go away... come again another day... little children want to play... rain rain go away." However one must realize that rain is an important part of life. Without rain, there will be no ...

The Mentality That Floods Are More Fun In The Philippines Is STUPID!

While some areas of the Philippines are serious with its fights against floods, it's a sad thing that Manila looks like it's just ignoring the situation. Some people like the ones above just want to have fun, thinks floods are fun and well... no one can deny the severity of floods. Anybody who remembers the Ormoc flashfloods can see the disaster that was brought by flooding. Looking at this picture, one can see that the flood is NOT a laughing matter. Those kids in the topmost picture should be taught a lesson in seriousness. Also the government should realize the damage floods could do. One needs to think of the consequences of flooding. So why are floods really NOT more fun in the Philippines nor anywhere else around the world? Just think of EVERY consequence I am listing below. This one should really be a major concern to improve tourism and investment in the Philippines!
