Are OFWs Joining CPP-NPA Legal Fronts Thinking That They're Conquering The World?

As the time for another presidency comes - it's no surprise that there are idiots who are still going against foreign direct investments as "invasion" . Meanwhile, the stupid idea that OFWs are "world conquerors" (pictured above) is really that FUNNY . Saying Hong Kong became an extension of Philippine territory is the way to go with directly provoking China and losing the arbitration case. If Philippine guerillas are truly invading Malaysia - why hasn't even Sabah (which I believe is Malaysian territory) been returned to the Philippines? Eventually, we had Edz Ello last 2015 who claimed that Filipinos will take over Singapore. We just know how Edz Ello's statement ended, right? Instead, Edz ended up going to jail AND getting deported from Singapore. What never entered my head though is that OFW-related mishaps may be caused by OFWs who are members of CPP-NPA LEGAL FRONTS such as Migraine International and Anakbayad. It entered my head quite too late ...

Why 'The Flor Contemplacion Story' Is Problematic

March tends to be associated with " Flor Contemplacion Day " followed by the commemoration of the " Three Drug Mules in China ". Granted, yesterday was Flor Contemplacion Day, her death anniversary was commemorated on its 20th year last 2015, and its  silver anniversary hit during the height of the pandemic . I was personally afraid that Singapore's sudden increase in COVID-19 would be politicized by the likes of Migraine International since the silver anniversary hit during the height of COVID-19. This made me think of that movie which (thankfully) wasn't shown to us in school. It was called The Flor Contemplacion Story which starred Nora Aunor (who has been appearing in Migraine International events) and the twin sons of Flor as THEMSELVES. The movie came months after the execution of Flor in Singapore. Much outrage came that it was said President Rodrigo R. Duterte made a serious blunder in protest back when he was mayor. It was also when former president...

So ABiaS-CBN Replayed "MMK: Tubig" Last August 28 BUT Are They Willing To Accept The Need For Economic Cha-Cha?

ABiaS-CBN managed to re-air the Maalala Mo Kaya episode "Tubig" or "Water" last Saturday. I really want to ask the question of, "Is it me or does ABiaS-CBN like to romanticize OFW plights?" I could remember the film showing of Anak during Filipino class while I was in college. Later, I decided to watch Hello, Love, Goodbye on Netflix . Those films were by ABiaS-CBN. I was thinking about the re-airing of the MMK episode on Kapamilya Channel (and it could be watched on Youtube). I was thinking about the scenes that try to dramatize the tragedy of a REAL INNOCENT WOMAN. Unlike the late Flor Contemplacion and the three drug mules - Sarah Balabagan was a REAL VICTIM and only killed out of self-defense.   In this case, the MMK episode was a fictional scenario based on the real encounter. Some events in the dramatization will tell you that it's inspired by Balabagan's tragic experience in Saudi Arabia. The real case scenario was that she was a teenager wh...

OFW Phenomenon Made Philippines MORE DEPENDENT Than Independent Economically

Happy Independence Day anyone? Today is June 12 and the I prefer to call it Liberation from Spain Day. The Philippines didn't become truly independent until July 4, 1948, when the Americans finally gave us our sovereignty. I decided to think about another issue. A few years ago - I remembered I wrote about how economic protectionism or Filipino "first" made the Philippines MORE dependent on other countries . Now, I decided to focus on the OFW phenomenon AGAIN this June 12. It's more than time to ask if the OFW phenomenon has truly made the Philippines more independent economically.  The concept of raising economic protectionism is to supposedly protect national interests and the national industry. The whole concept is built on these two blatant lies still replayed ALL OVER AGAIN. The first lie is that FDIs will affect our sovereignty . The second lie is that only FDIs will get rich . They say that FDIs will destroy the local environment. So the "solution" is...

Accepting Foreign Direct Investment Doesn't Defeat The Idea Of Improving The Local Filipino Business Environment

Is spreading of misinformation anything new about foreign direct investors (FDI) already new? Not at all. The CoRRECT Movement (and other simiar movements) has been advocating for the chance for Filipinos to evolve even during the Noynoying Years. FDI has been smeared with such lies like the famous " FDIs are invaders " or the " But only foreign investors will get rich! ". Then, of course, there's the fantasy notion of Carlos "Heneral Lunatic" Zarate where he believes that first-world countries self-industrialized yet he's yet to test his theory on an uncharted island . Now, the COVID-19 has proven one lie to be a blatant lie - that's the lie by Hilarious Davide that the 1987 is the best constitution in the world . Yet, there are still some who believe that the only hope for the Philippines to recover from the COVID-19 debts is to... SELF-INDUSTRIALIZE ? It's because (according to those neanderthals) is that FDIs will supposedly be selling ...

Penoy Praydists Getting Offended Over That Alleged Racial Slur In "Make My Heart Smile" Proves They're Insecure, Butthurt Crybabies

I'm mad at China as a POLITICAL ENTITY but not the Chinese people as a whole. it was revealed at that earlier episode of an ongoing Chinovela called Make My Heart Smile has an alleged slur scene. The leading guy arrogantly tells the leading lady that her dress is like that of a Filipino maid. No surprise is that there are already BUTTHURT statements against the Chinovela for the statement. The incident caught me off-guard while giving me an idea for a Chinese New Year post. Yup, I really laughed just reading the post about it . This isn't really too surprising if you can remember the outrage in Hong Kong (last 2015) concerning the "offensive" textbooks? I was amazed at how the book really made them mad when the textbook promoted Filipinos as "domestic helpers". What did they want to be portrayed as? Conquerors of Hong Kong? Please, OFW means Overseas Filipino WORKER, not Overseas Filipino Warrior. When Filipinos work abroad -- they're under the authority...

They Love Receiving Imported Luxury Items Given By Their OFW Relatives While They're Going Against FDI

It's Christmas and there's always the bad culture of overspending, right? I remembered writing some time ago decided to write about why Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) families tend to remain poor . I was thinking about how the classic scenario of the OFW is - the nagpadala (sender) and the pinagdahlan (receiver). With Christmas in mind - I was thinking how a typical OFW family that's Okay Fine Whatever would have their desire to receive imported luxury items this Christmas. Be it the newly released Playstation 5, the latest iPhone 11, Gucci or Louie Vitton bags (or you NAME IT) - they're eager to receive it from the OFW Balikbayan Box which some may consider contains what they may consider as " the spoils of conquest " from other countries. They're so eager to receive those imported luxury items as they ignore Jack Ma's basic advice on budgeting . Just think that many luxury stuff are only bought for the NAME and NOT for the quality of the product.  ...

The Typical Pinoy Hero Complex Is Another Reason Why Obligations Can't Be Met

Just lately, a term which I've overlooked for some time is called the hero complex. The term hero complex can be defined when a person strives to be the hero or heroine of the situation where they want to make it that they're the ones who save the day. Sometimes, the hero complex may also carry with it a selfish desire to look good at the expense of others or even one's self. This COVID-19 crisis may have also inadvertently revealed more of the typical hero complex among Pinoys. Some are doing all their lame virtue-signaling  even during the COVID-19 crisis such as in regards to the death of Baby River . Some of them are tweeting and writing whatever they could online to ruin the administration in hopes that they will look good. That's what virtue signaling is all about - displaying outrage to make yourself look good. That's what's going on with the typical Pinoy hero complex which causes obligations not to be met at all. Though, we may want to make a bit of a j...

If OFWs Are "Conquering The World" Then Why Isn't The Philippines The Richest Nation In The World?

I could remember a post I wrote last 2015 where I tackled the foolish idea of " Pelepeno World Konkwest ". The silly idea is often accompanied by other silly ideas such as foreign investors are foreign invaders  or that only foreign investors will get rich . The justification of the idea of OFWs has been set with the idea that it's done in the name of "conquest". The logic is that Filipinos will be getting the jobs from the country they're "invading" and not the people of that country. The idea is really absurd that they're "defending" the Philippines from "foreign invaders" and that it's all about Filipinos will one day rule the world. The ideas are probably accompanied by the Penoy Master Race  mentality together with the possibility of trying to maintain Penoy Racial Purity . If anything, I don't think there's hardly any pure Pinoy today. In fact, I'd even say that every citizen of the Philippines should ...

Will Filipino Rallyists Commemorate Flor Contemplacion's Upcoming 25th "Martyrdom" In The Midst Of The COVID-19?

2015 became 20 years of Flor Contemplacion's "martyrdom" in Singapore . This coming March 17 would be her 25th anniversary. Just notice that big anniversaries are celebrated by the fives such as 5th anniversary, 10th anniversary, 15th anniversary, etc., right? This year would be the silver anniversary of Flor's supposed martyrdom at the hands of "unjust" Singapore . The 20th anniversary had the members of Migraine International  with all their nonsense. The members of Migraine demand jobs in the Philippines but they don't want foreigners to invest in the Philippines . I always find that stupid because the Philippines alone can't generate jobs. True, foreign investors aren't the only job providers but how many Filipino businessmen can provide jobs for a lot of Filipinos needing them? The whole sensation behind Flor's "martyrdom" last 1995. I was only in elementary when it happened. It was that time when her "martyrdom" ha...

The Irony That OFWs Are Sent To Countries That GREATLY BENEFITED From Foreign Direct Investors

It's really stupid for somebody to say that foreign direct investors (FDI) are invaders . How many times do I need to tell them that but they still believe it? Then you've got stupid idiots who really dare believe that the OFW phenomenon is in the name of conquest . In the name of conquest? Please, has nations where OFWs been sent now bowing down to the Philippines? If that were true then why didn't President Xi Jinping from China bow down to Noynoy Aquino and President Rodrigo R. Duterte during his visits to the Philippines? Why didn't Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad bow down to Duterte when he arrived in the Philippines while there are OFWs in Malaysia? It's because OFW phenomenon is NOT Filipinos taking over the world. The bizarre irony of claiming OFWs are world conquest and that foreign investors are invaders is this. Where are the countries where OFWs are mostly sent to? Those countries that they're sent to happen to be first world countries that benefit...

Obsession With "Penoy Prayd!" Isn't Compatible With Economic Development

Filipinos are just like every other race or nationality -- they have the choice to evolve or not to evolve into better persons. Now, I just heard that the next Miss Philippines for 2019 is half-Palestinian and two previous Miss Philippines I've known were half-white. Prepare the blasting comments about why no "Pure-pino" (a slang for pure Filipino) woman was sent to the Miss Philippines, anyone? Then we have an obsession with Pinoy racial purity as if there are still Pure-pinos. Filipinos should be considered more of  nationality than a race. Maybe, brown-skinned Filipinos should simply be labeled as brown Filipinos, right? It's with all that in mind that I decided to write about how Penoy Prayd (notice I love to misspell it on purpose) is not compatible with any economic development for the Philippines. The idea of maintaining Filipino racial purity in the Philippines can be very devastating to the economy. Let's take a look at the local investors of the Philip...
