Some Filipinos Tend To Bootlick The United States Of America

As I said I'm not anti-American but what I'm really against is the culture of overrating American culture or worse bootlicking the United States of America to the point where its overly dependent ally . While I have nothing against American stuff since I do go to McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, I enjoy the American influence brought in by Filipino businessmen (ex. Jollibee, Yellow Cab Pizza), I still watch some American shows, I'm still on the Internet but what's wrong is when one becomes an American bootlicker. It's like there's a thin line between colonial mentality and preferring some things foreign over local stuff that are badly made . One good example of a dangerous U.S. bootlicker might be Fil-Am leader Manang Loida Nicolas-Lewis  on why she keeps insisting on letting President Duterte step down or why she even said that Marbobo Roxas and Leni Loud Robredo are the best bet for 2016. I think she actually enjoys her status as an American bootl...

Filipinos Should Stop Listening To Americans Who Claim To Be "Experts" Of The Philippines

While I don't condone to President Rodrigo Duterte's Punisher-like behavior in dealing with certain people and he should learn more diplomacy, there's another issue that I could raise with Americans who claim to be "experts" of the Philippines. It reminds me how some crazy Americans think they know just about everything. While I'm not anti-American but I can't deny how the United States is indeed a dysfunctional country. A lot of Americans today are too spoiled, too pampered and they don't want to follow simple guidelines . What's so frustrating to think about is that a lot of Filipinos want to follow their lifestyle. It's an issue among many Filipinos today is that they overrate American culture . Worse, if the local media ever gives them imported shows you should expect most of the shows you'll see are American media. I remembered how I woke up to Saturday morning cartoons and almost everything I see are American media. While I ha...

To All Anti-FLIPFAG Readers, My Aim Is Not Goodbye And Good Riddance Philippines!

I have observed how some Filipinos have become so pessimistic that instead of fighting for a better Philippines, they have decided to say, "That's it!  It's best the Philippines is wiped off from the face of the Earth!" type of talk. There is the tendency to become a weabo (somebody who tries hard to be Japanese but fail at it) or the American bootlickers... in short, they practice some form of colonial mentality and they tend to believe that the Philippines is the worst place on Earth. I'll admit I used to believe that the Philippines is the worst place on Earth when I was a child.  I really wanted to move out of the Philippines, go to America or at times "Umuwi sa Tsina" when that's just impossible considering that my parents are both natural born even if they are of Chinese descent and I'll admit my Chinese is very limited too. Also, I wanted to go to America, live there and have the country nuke the Philippines into non-existence when ...

Pinoy Pessimism Against The Country Should Also Be Avoided!

While I have discussed a lot of issues concerning Pinoy Pride and the like, I think it's best I should also write againstPinoy pessimism. I know some Pinoys have had enough of facing the bad citizens of the country  at a daily basis which I admit, it's very annoying. I can see there are Pinoys who are law-abiding, they follow simple guidelines and they want a better life. However, they tend to have all their pessimism like saying, "Philippines has no hope!" When I think about how bad Filipinos can tell decent Filipinos stuff like, " Eh di pumunta ka sa ibang bansa ?" or "Why don't you go to another country?", it's also just as stupid as, "The Philippines has no hope. That's it, I am LEAVING!" I always remembered the time when I really wanted to move to the United States of America without thinking of the consequences. My reasons for wanting to leave the Philippine was because of people who borrow money and never pay you b...

Three Reasons Why "Colonial Mentality" Is Very Hard to Combat in the Philippines!

Colonial mentality can be defined as to think anything foreign is better than what is your country.  You may also define it as preferring anything imported regardless of quality.  Now colonial mentality is NOT liking anything that is foreign, rather it's preferring everything foreign.  And now I'd like to write why it's very hard to combat colonial mentality in the Philippines. I would like to raise the issues of what's going on in the Philippines.  Failipino entertainment is prevalent.  You can have the real issues that Failipino films, they don't make us think .  You can have substandard products.  You can have trashy services that make you complain.  You have a lot of lazy and irresponsible Pinoys who don't make good spouses for decent Pinoys.  The list can go on... all those factors can fuel "colonial mentality".  In what way?  It's very hard to see anything good in what is Pinoy made because most of them are trash and any qua...

Colonial Mentality is Just Another Poor Excuse to Cover Up Pinoy Incompetence

Colonial mentality is bad no questions asked. On the other hand, its opposite extreme called ethnocentrism is also just as bad. In free trade policy, I buy your wares, you buy mine. It's like I am selling ampao and in exchange, I also buy Japanese rice crackers to thank the guy for buying my ampao. It's the cycle of give and time. Nobody gives, there's nothing to take. Nobody takes, there's nothing to give. It's a cycle you must respect. The enlightened Pinoy understands give and take, the Failipino doesn't. However Failipino culture is always bordered on INCOMPETENCE. The "pwede na yan" or "that will do" mentality has been prevalent even before President Nobita Aquino's regime. It's the culture of mediocrity that has led to an influx of bad Pinoy products. Instead of quality Pinoy products, you have a huge influx of Failipino products. Products that are so bad it's bad for both local and international. So what's going on? ...
