Ressa VS. Tiglao: The "Spy VS. Spy" Of Philippine Journalism?

POLITIKO I used to read Rappler and the Manila Times . You may notice many of my articles here quote Rigoberto "Bobi" (better yet BOBO) Tiglao. I've written some scathing articles as a private citizen questioning Maria Ressa's credibility. I watched the BBC HARDtalk interview laughing when Ressa, though calm, still made a fool out of herself on the same show . I was amazed at how Sackur himself managed to hit Ressa with some rebuttals. Fortunately, Ressa kept her calm even after the show ended. I would often refer to Tiglao's articles such as articles on Liela Dilemma , who's currently out on bail, and the new spokesperson of the Liberal Party of the Philippines-Dilawan People's Army (LPP-DPA) while Angat Buhay remains as its legal front. The LPP-DPA may not be as dangerous as the CPP-NPA. However, their devotion to the late Noynoy Aquino is almost eerily similar to CPP-NPA members' devotion to the late Joma Sison. I still believe that even if Dilemma ...

Do You Remember The Magandang Gabi Bayan Halloween Specials On ABiaS-CBN?

Today is Halloween and it can't be denied. Halloween brings me back memories of the 90s and early 2000s with Magandang Gabi Bayan (Good Evening Nation) which had reporter Noli De Castro and Korina Sanchez-Roxas back when she was still single. One of their most "memorable" times was the MGB Halloween Special which had some rather scary reenactment accompanied by De Castro's really sensationalist, powerful voice. Fortunately, MGB ended in 2005 (I was still in college) though the memories are still there. I do feel there was this hidden trauma I had to the useless arguments I got as a teenager to when it was in college. I remembered how I got into arguments with people who kept insisting on the aswang stories they heard with their "best source" to be De Castro himself. Unfortunately, the videos are still up on ABiaS-CBN's Youtube channel which you can check them out for yourself.  I actually wrote back then how sensationalism is what sells in the Philippine...

Why Filipinos Should Check Out The Journalist-Themed K-Drama "Argon"

I was looking at Netflix Philippines' top ten. It was good that the cringy indie movie Pamilyang Ordinaryo was featured because it's an eye-opener. However, the K-Dramas that tend to get into Netflix's Top Ten are usually romance stories . The recent top ten features It's Okay Not to be Okay which is also a romance story between an anti-social writer and an employee in a psychiatric hospital. Okay, it might be better than the teleserye love stories but it seems a lot of Filipino viewers only view it for better heartfelt stories. Right now, I really think that the K-Drama Argon would really be very relevant to Filipino society. Here's how the plot is described by The cat that watches TV : Argon is a drama about an investigative news program and its journalists, Kim Baek-jin (Kim Joo Hyuk) at the helm as the news anchor. He’s highly principled and a difficult boss to work with due to his perfectionism, but he inspires his juniors to treat news seriously and to co...

The Truth About Penoy Prayd Mass Media As Expressed By The Late Lee Kuan Yew

A stupid 4Ps-obsessed old man says that the Philippine media is supposed to be "enough", "honest", and "non-partisan" but actions speak louder than words. I beg to differ because actions speak louder than words. You can see how the Philippine press and the mass media have enjoyed freedom since the fall of the Marcos Years but where has it taken the Philippines? Why has the late Lee Kuan Yew actually dared to say that the press or media has FAILED the Filipino people? We have a saying that with great power comes great responsibility. Freedom of press itself is a great power that requires those to use to be responsible. There's the difference between the right to express your opinion vs. being opinionated. If you're going to be in the news then you ought to display facts as facts. You can have your editorials, express your views to why you don't like someone but if you're going to report then take BOTH SIDES of the story. Don't be like ...

Inquirer's Choice Of Cover Girls From Jover Laurio To Preen's Five Filipino Communist Bitches

It's anything but surprising that five Filipino bitches (right) namely Sarah Elago (Kayabangan Partylist Representative), Alex Danday (Anakbayad), Paula Janer (College Editor’s Guild of the Philippines or CEGP), Kara Taggaoa (League of Failipino Students), and Blaise Bellosillo (National Union of Students in the Philippines) became cover girls for Inquirer. Just remember that last 2017 they had  Jover Laurio honored as the Filipino of the Year last 2017 . If they can make the brainless work of Pinoy Ako Blog and praise it as an intellectually well-researched masterpiece then why should we be surprised when Filipino communist women are the next cover girls? Once again, Inquirer is putting Filipino women - if not Filipinos in general in a very bad light! Inquirer's choice of cover girls is contributing to its shrinkage in credibility. Elago (who's thankfully not at the center of the Filipinas for Change) isn't doing anything right in her work but whine, whine, whine. ...

Is Inquirer Suggesting That Foreign Investors Are Foreign Invaders?

Here's a screenshot of the Philippine Daily Inquirer's latest headlines. They went all the way with " Heil Digong " to this one. They wrote in their headlines, "Chinese Investors Target 3 PH Islands" and further write that it raises national concerns. This is really stupid because they are almost telling their readers that foreign investors are foreign invaders . You don't have to get a degree in economics or any commerce-related courses in order to understand that foreign investors aren't foreign invaders. Just study the history of first world countries and you'll realize that they progressed by accepting foreign investors as part of their local economy. The misleading headlines should have said, "Chinese investors doing business in Three Philippine Islands" and not what it says. Inquirer can go ahead and claim to have balanced news (just like ABiaS-CBN claims that they're not siding with anyone but actions speak louder than wo...

Does ABiaS-CBN Think That The Americanized Versions Of Japanese Shows Are Always "Better"?

Is it me or is ABiaS-CBN really that is biased with why they air the Americanized versions of Japanese shows while ignoring the source material? I remembered watching the now-defunct Hero TV and guess what? They were airing Power Rangers as a JAPANESE SHOW when it isn't. Clarification -- Power Rangers is a localization based on a JAPANESE TV SHOW which doesn't make it   a Japanese TV show. I may acknowledge that Toei Ltd. gave Saban, Disney, or currently Hasbro the legal permission to use the fight footage but that doesn't make it a Japanese show. Note, Toei ultimately OWNS Power Rangers and not just the American side of the fence! If it wasn't for Super Sentai then you wouldn't have Power Rangers, now would you?  I remembered having been in elementary school when ABiaS-CBN itself showed Mighty Morphin'. I have to confess that I was at first, fascinated by the show. However, the more I discovered about Super Sentai -- the more I discovered what have I miss...

Did PNoy Pridists Forget Noynoy Too Has An Awkward Handshake?

Image Source The question is, "This is even news?" Awkward moments happen to ANYONE and not just President Rodrigo R. Duterte. CRappler having been a journalism organization should be more focused on bigger details and not on something like this. Both Filipino President Duterte and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long had an awkward moment. It happens but it's not a big deal! It's not like what happened to the Indian politician Surendra Furtado  whose attention-seeking campaign went wrong and nearly endangered people riding the weed cutter. And now...  Well, did they even forget that Noynoy Aquino too had an awkward moment too? Not that it's newsworthy either. However, the Dilawans do have a fine case of selective outrage and selective justice such as fact-checking only when it's convenient for them, right?

Will ABiaS-CBN Die Any Time Soon?

Nobody won't be in power, forever, right? Do you remember what happened to both the late Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. and Joseph Ejercito Estrada? Both were toppled down by two EDSA revolutions. ABiaS-CBN itself had a long-standing share ever since it was rightfully returned to the Lopezes after the Marcos Years by the late Corazon C. Aquino. Ever since then, the network itself has remained in power since it was returned. I remembered how the network itself had dominated the minds of Filipinos with   MIND-NUMBING SHOWS during the 1990s up to present with shows like Deal or No Deal, Kris TV, and a whole series of TV dramas that go on and on with the plot going nowhere. You can also have their sensationalist news . Do you remember when Noli De Castro loves to present nonsense news such as reports of stuff like the aswang when it's only a mythical creature? Now, ABiaS-CBN is already in the threat of not getting its franchise renewed by March 20, 2020 .  They can tag #DefendPress...

Agnes Callamard's "Expertise" And Dilawan's Reliance On Her Is Nothing More Than Stupidity

Pictures courtesy of Get Real Pundit Well isn't it amazing how libtards award fellow libtards people -- so don't be surprised that Maria Ressa gets her awards left and right from the same libtard organizations . Now this latest screenshot of a tweet between Maria Ressa and Agnes Callamard who how show how callously STUPID these two are. Do you ever remember when she endorsed the statement by Dr. Carl Hart that says that there's supposedly no evidence shabu leads to violence . Is she and Hart blind?! Worse, it's stupid how Yellowtards want to indict President Duterte of alleged drug links while endorsing Callamard is just self-contradictory! The links between Callamard and George Soros might as well be a potential clue that may verify the alleged links between Ressa and Soros. Now, she is even awarding Ezra Acayan of Rappler for such photographs which she calls as state-sponsored, state-induced, state-condoned and state-ignored killings. She was given the chan...

Maria Ressa's #DefendPressFreedom Hashtag Isn't Working Because Her Issue Isn't About Press Freedom

It doesn't matter how many times Maria Ressa tries to tag #DefendPressFreedom because the issue is NOT about press freedom. Rather, CRappler has been guilty of violations such as the case Wilfredo Keng has filed against her  together with tax evasion charges. Not to mention we do have her recent charge of violation with the anti-dummy law . It's where Filipinos willingly allow themselves to be used by foreigners to evade the current foreign investment restriction rule! Oh the irony that going for 60/40 has actually gone against Ressa too! The irony that CRappler has had it with Teddy Casino going against President Duterte's planned economic reforms  such as removing 60/40. Did you know Casino even wrote an article in CRappler where 60-40 rule must be maintained   in the name of Filipino first? However, his fake nationalism has been long exposed to be this one -- he and his kind are pseudo-nationalists who only go after their own selfish interests . If these activists ...

Jover Laurio Better PROVE Her Claims Concerning #DuterteWaterCrisis

Jover Laurio is one arrogant and possibly highly dangerous wild fat swine of a monster isn't she? There's one thing that intelligent or at least average minded people fail to see -- just because a person is very stupid doesn't mean that such people can't cause harm. Remember, stupid people can easily influence other stupid people to rally with them, they can come in groups against one intelligent person (and bully said person) AND I guess this is what Laurio does. Just look at most of the people who comment at Pignoy Ako Blog -- they are really that stupid and the site is a lobbyist for morons! Now it's time to dare her to prove her claims in the #DuterteWaterCrisis . So what's her evidence that Duterte started it or at least defend her stand? She used CRappler which is usually guilty of using half-truths... Let's just face it -- it seems that Jover herself is insinuating or implying that President Duterte himself caused the crisis and decided to le...

#MaramingSalamatPNoy For Making It Even More Possible To Criminally Charge Maria Ressa?

If there's anyone who we should probably thank for making it even more possible for Wilfredo Keng to sue Maria Ressa -- it's not President Rodrigo R. Duterte but former president Noynoy Aquino. So why should we thank Noynoy? When was the cybercrime law passed? President Duterte didn't sign it into action -- it was Noynoy who did it! While I do think that libel needs to be eased down in one area yet it has to be made serious in another. I believe libel should be made criminal IF and IF ever it harmed someone's life in the process. Otherwise, I'm just going to ignore it. So why is it important to know that former president Noynoy and not President Duterte signed the law? This is because Yellowtards need to understand that some of the stuff that they are protesting are indeed still endorsed by the 1987 Constitution or the Yellow Camp. A good example is that martial law is still legal and constitutional under the current constitution  aside from the signing of the ...

Why I Think CRappler's Libel Case Should Not Be Dismissed As Mere Tort

How stupid can Maria Ressa's followers be into believing that her arrest is supposedly a threat to democracy? The filing of Wilfredo Keng is not mere puny charges like what Jover Laurio wanted to do with Franco Mabanta. So how do we define libel? It's defined by the Chan Robles Virtual Law Library as: Art. 353. Definition of libel. — A libel is public and malicious imputation of a crime, or of a vice or defect, real or imaginary , or any act, omission, condition, status, or circumstance tending to cause the dishonor, discredit, or contempt of a natural or juridical person, or to blacken the memory of one who is dead . Now let's consider why Wildfredo Keng is really suing Ressa for libel. A libel is a tort only when it's a petty case such as calling somebody ugly or stupid. But Ressa herself had every chance to take her word back but she didn't. Here's the reasons why Keng is suing for libel according to GMA News : "This story is not just abo...

Why I Think Maria Ressa's Arrest Is NOT An Attack On Press Freedom

Maria Ressa's arrest is as said for the millionth time NOT an attack on democracy. If Yellowtards want the rule of majority then where's the majority supporting them and Ressa? They can go ahead and argue that President Duterte won by plurality and yet Noynoy Aquino won by plurality too. Not to mention the percentage of those who voted for Mar Roxas and Leni Loud Robredo barely became a majority. That really has their screwed up logic really distorted. Just in -- Ressa finally had it coming. She had all the time to pay her tax evasion cases and what did she do? She continued playing the victim all over again until it finally reached its peak. She may go ahead and accuse President Duterte of being a bully but LOOK WHO IS TALKING! Let's consider the relevance that Rappler ahem CRappler had with the Philippines. The whole #BlackFridayForPressFreedom was already ridiculous to start with. What threat of press freedom? If you're asked to pay your taxes correctly then pa...

Exploding Rage Against Tagalog-Dubbed Tokusatsu

I remembered how often I wrote about the really bad dubs of K-Drama -- heck, I didn't even want to watch that super awful dub of either Secretary Kim or While You Were Sleeping . Neither GMA-7 nor ABiaS-CBN did a good job dubbing them. But the history isn't just limited to the 2000s but also back in the 90s when I remembered some Toku dubs such decades back such as Maskman, Turboranger, Jetman, Fiveman, Ultraman Tiga, Kamen Rider Black, Gavan, Shaider, Machineman, Guyferd, Janperson, Koseidon and Ultraman Ace to name a few. I remembered I used to look forward to watching them until I started watching the fan subs and realized a lot of stuff that was wrong with it! Adding so many unnecessary words or romanticizing said dialogues Turboranger doesn't have a complete fan sub and it may only be a matter of time before Shout! Factory may decide to make a licensed release. I could talk about the first episode of Turboranger and what I could remember. Do you remember the sc...

Is Pignoy Ako Blog Roasted?

The "legacy" of Jover Laurio's quick rise to fame and her crash this year is something. Do you remember when she became the " Filipino of the Year " in 2017? I found that blog to be so stupid and yet Maria Ressa even wants to call it " well-researched ". I may not be a journalist but I know that Pinoy Ako Blog is NOT well-researched! I may just be a minor blogger but it doesn't mean I have no right to express my views on the Internet with whatever limited knowledge I have. So how is Laurio chewing herself before she got leaked for actually receiving #PABoost? She said that she's "non-partisan" yet her actions show that she's actually a staunch supporter of the Liberal Party. I could respect other Duterte critics for actually being non-partisan and not trying to do fear-mongering -- rather they stick with the facts unlike what Pinoy Ako Blog is doing. While I don't approve of what Nicko Falcis did by leaking their private co...

PNoy Pride! Maria Ressa Is Time's Person Of The Year For 2018!

Awards here, awards there and the awards go on as Maria Ressa is now Person of the Year for Time Magazine. Is it a cause for just anyone to be jealous and to play the jealousy card as she keeps getting awards? There are  Clueless Western media entities keep showing her with awards but the question is now can they bring her back credibility to her very own home country ? Now, Yellowtards can go ahead and brag that the Duterte supporters should be jealous of her getting Time Magazine's slot and called her "the guardians and the war on truth". It's just as erroneous as comparing Leila De Lima to a real heroine namely Aung San Syu Kii in Myanmar. So why is Ressa getting lumped together with the REAL truth fighters and even made her the poster lady for the year? Hmmm shouldn't this be a call for suspicion that perhaps close ties between the Democrats of the U.S. and the Liberal Party of the Philippines could also be the cause. Did the Liberal Party of the Philippi...

Maria Ressa Should Win An Oscar's Award For Best Acting

Bravo to Maria Ressa and more bravo. It's no surprise that the clueless Western media  is showering her with awards right now. She deserves all those awards because they think like her and have her kind of ideals. But there's one award that she deserves right now -- she could get an Oscar's Award for best acting! I tried noticing her speeches right now are really that convincing to mislead people. She gets her acceptance award and I can understand why people can be misled by her. She knows how to make herself look like she's a victim of a dictatorship. She makes many heartfelt speeches and acts like she was bullied. For that, she manages to even get her awards one after the other. She's very convincing one way or another. Right now, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences SHOULD consider giving her an Oscar's for best acting. This would be a big achievement for CRappler should their CEO get that award!

Why Foreign Intervention Won't Help Maria Ressa's Damaged Reputation

While CRappler does tell some degree of truth but it's so muddled in half-truths that you can't tell their fake news from the real one. Said news organization does a very good job that some people are so clueless not to spot the fake news and even believe it to be a "reliable" organization. Maria Ressa getting two awards in a year namely the Golden Pen of Freedom 2018 award and the Gwen Iffill Freedom Award . Congratulations to her because she deserves her award from said organizations who think like her. But the truth is that no amount of awards showered to Ressa -- not even a cabinet full of plaques from the clueless Western media (or the so-called "experts") would be able to build up her already severely broken credibility in the Philippines. Not even her past achievements such as her masteral degree in the University of the Philippines helped her either! Do you remember when  Agnes Callamard together with three "experts of the world" defend...
