Well, Happy Fourth of July (the American Independence Day) or the REAL Philippine Independence Day for the Philippines. For Filipinos, it tends to be the celebration of Filipino-American friendship day. I'm not anti-American but right now I really do HATE the American government. I still enjoy American products like Hershey's or enjoy some American shows, I still use Netflix which is an American platform. In the recent light of current events - COVID-19 or the Legacy Virus  is already spreading faster than usual in some areas of the world. A recent report is that  the "greatest country in the world" (the United States of America or the US) has increased up to 135,000 confirmed cases . Let me get this straight - there is NOTHING wrong with foreigners giving advice. That is, as long as they know WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT. The irony really that Filipinos tend to be wishy-washy about foreign advice. Why did some Filipinos demand persona non-grata on foreigners who offend them with TRUTHFUL ADVICE? Is it me or is ABiaS-CBN really that is biased with why they air the Americanized versions of Japanese shows while ignoring the source material? I remembered watching the now-defunct Hero TV and guess what? They were airing Power Rangers as a JAPANESE SHOW when it isn't. Clarification -- Power Rangers is a localization based on a JAPANESE TV SHOW which doesn't make it   a Japanese TV show. I may acknowledge that Toei Ltd. gave Saban, Disney, or currently Hasbro the legal permission to use the fight footage but that doesn't make it a Japanese show. As I said I'm not anti-American but what I'm really against is the culture of overrating American culture or worse bootlicking the United States of America to the point where its overly dependent ally . While I have nothing against American stuff since I do go to McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, I enjoy the American influence brought in by Filipino businessmen (ex. I'm not calling Filipinos to be anti-American . It's good to have allies. Japan and the U.S. are allies. I use some stuff from American brands (but most of them were Made in China or in other Asian countries) or stuff born out of American influence. I still watch a few American shows though I usually prefer Taiwanese, Hong Kong, Japanese or South Korean shows. Do you ever bother to watch most of Philippine TV these days? For me I don't even bother. There's hardly anything good or intellectual to watch. Aside from those stupid locally produced  telebasuras day in and day out  -- it seems to be that the only alternative we have these days aside from a few Korean TV series that will make you think through the plot is American entertainment . I'll admit I'm not anti-American. I don't deny that some of the stuff I use are American-made or born out of American influence. The Internet and various social media are born from American influence. Some of the cool video games I'm playing are made by American companies. So what am I raising right now?
