SB19 X JOLIN: Proof That Filipino Entertainment CAN Benefit From Competition

There's always the call of crybabies like, "WAH! PROTECT PELEPENO PRAYD FROM KOMPETISYON!" I'd say F*** THAT because we're seeing some collaborations between Filipino entertainers. In fact, Filipino entertainment has already created some collaborations like Andy Lau and Sharon Cuneta (In Your Eyes), as well as Jacky Cheung (whose wife got involved in a maid firing scandal) with Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. Regine also sang with Remus Choy of the Grasshoppers.  Now, we're meeting Jolin Tsai (also called JOLIN) with a collaboration with SB19 . Here's some excerpt from ABiaS-CBN: Beyond the concept, JOLIN also highlighted the warmth she felt while working with the P-Pop Kings, expressing appreciation especially for Ken.   “Thank you, boys, for always bringing so much energy in person – it truly infects me. Special thanks to Ken, who during production never hesitated to send❤️ to me, giving warm support and feedback. (| hope those expressions behind the screen re...

Anti-Reform Pasaways Have NO RIGHT To Use Taiwan's COVID-19 Success In Their Virtue Signals If They Continue Being Anti-Reform

Well, today is Taiwan's Independence Day, right? I was thinking of the time when I actually wrote about Jover Laurio of Pignoy Ako Blog  in Taiwan . I was wishing that Jover would run for senator under the Liberal Party since her sponsor Vice President Leni Loud Robredo is running for president. I even want to see Jover win a Nobel Peace Prize award because of how questionable nominees are. Now, it would be very easy to see pages like Change Scamming , Silent No More PH , and Bantay Nakaw to name a few of those pages. It's NOT wrong to highlight any failures of the Duterte Administration's failures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The great Mahathir Mohamad supports having an opposition and criticism as part of government growth. However, what amazes me is that the anti-reform pasaways have been highlight the failures of the Duterte Administration during COVID-19 using Taiwan. Why amazing? Read on and you'll find out why. Some of the anti-reform pasaways are actually CPP-...

Would You Listen To TECO Representative Michael Peiyung Hsu OR To Out-Of-Date Filipino Commies?

It may quite late since its June 15, 2021, and the article regarding Taiwan's urge to scrap excessive and restrictive foreign ownership for businesses . The very suggestion was given by Taiwan's very own Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Representative Michael Peiyung Hsu (or Hsu Peiyung) regarding the ownership restrictions. Though, this always gets some idiotic responses like the usual, "Why will you let foreign direct investors (FDI) invest here? Only they will benefit from it!  Even worse, they will exploit our sovereignty! " The arguments are getting old yet the same anti-FDI douchebags still use them. They're all getting outdated. The croakings of Toady Casino and Bayad Muna It just reminds me of Toady Casino from Bayad Muna. One of Casino's best advice is to retain 60-40 ownership AGAIN. The article from Rappler was in 2013 during Noynoy's term (when the term did manage to loosen up certain industries from restrictions). Casino's react...

Capitalism, Compliance, Competence Helped Taiwan Gain Its Low Infection Rate Of COVID-19

It's crazy how some Filipino communists such as Bantay Nakaw  dare to use Taiwan's success to belittle and demean President Rodrigo R. Duterte. Not surprisingly, Bantay Nakaw is supported by Antonio F. Trillanes IV and former human rights chairperson Etta Rosales. I remembered writing about how Filipinos need to understand how Taiwan rose from rags to riches . Now, it's time to consider how Taiwan's Cs that led to its low infection rate. These three Cs are capitalism, compliance, and competence. How did capitalism help Taiwan in its current situation?  Consider the history of the economic miracle in Taiwan. Reading the book From Third World to First by the late Lee Kuan Yew   may be helpful but you need to study the Taiwanese economic miracle . What should be noteworthy that Taiwan's economic miracle also involved the acceptance of foreign investments and trade relations to help form their domestic capital . For a time, China in itself was still under the Maoist rul...

Does Jover Laurio Know How Taiwan Became Prosperous In Contrast To The Philippines?

Well it turns out that Jover Laurio is currently in Taiwan  and there's a picture of her at the Chiang Kai Shek memorial. She went to the Chiang Kai Shek memorial and posted the following in her blog:  The characters behind Chiang’s statue read “Ethics”, “Democracy”, and “Science”, and the inscriptions on the side read “The purpose of life is to improve the general life of humanity” and “The meaning of life is to create and sustain subsequent lives in the universe”.” Then she also wrote: Napaka progressive ng Taiwan, malinis at mayaman sa kultura at kasaysayan. (Taiwan is so progressive, clean and rich in culture and history, translation mine) I can recommend this sa inyo KaPAB kung gusto niyong magholiday outside Pinas. Di naman kailangan mag-apply ng visa to go to Taiwan. (I can recommend this to you all members of KaPB if you want to have a holiday outside the Philippines, you don't need to apply for a VISA to go to Taiwan., translation mine) Now I'd like to ...

Nope, Chinese Entertainment Airing On Philippine TV Is NOT A Sign Of Chinese Takeover

Here's a picture of Jim Paredes' latest nonsense which I got from GRP Shorts . For those who can't understand Tagalog, let me translate the Tagalog statements as: We're now prepared to become their province! Dreamworks is made in China so they say. More like a nightmare and brainwashing! It'ss stupidity at its finest. Didn't Paredes leave the Philippines sometime last decade and he returned? Yet he has the audacity to show his "nationalism" yet again by making yet another stupid comment. The problem behind the Chinese aggression in Scarborough Shoal is not on the Chinese people but the CHINESE GOVERNMENT. Those are Chinese military forces and NOT Chinese civilians. Some Chinese are probably glad that their government lost the Spratlys arbitration case because they have friends in the Philippines or they've had enough of their government. Are those shows from China owned by the government or by the Chinese people? If a business from China oper...

What Makes South Korean And Chinese Localized Versions Superior To Bootleg Quality Teleserye Versions

I'm open to localization for the reason that different locales have different cultures or that people should be given the chance to give their interpretation of different stories. I mean, I started getting into Taiwanese drama  with Meteor Garden which its story was a localized plot of Hana Yori Dango. My problem kicks in when the localized version just turns out awful for most of its run. Let's think about the difference between the South Korean and Chinese (this may come from Taiwan, China or Hong Kong) versions of foreign shows vs. the teleserye versions. I could remember about how I started watching Taiwanovelas thanks to Meteor Garden. Meteor Garden is based on Hana Yori Dango where everyone got Chinese names with more or less the same meaning in place of the Japanese names from the original Manga and Anime. Personally, my favorite is the Taiwanese interpretation of Meteor Garden in terms of cast. Barbie Xu-Wang makes such a badass Makino Tsukushi, Jerry Yan does a good...

Reasons Why Taiwanovelas Are Way Better Than Telebasuras

I didn't think about writing this but since today is Taiwan's independence day, I wanted to write this short. I could still remember the Taiwanovela craze. There was The Amazing Twins  - I can't deny the arrival of Meteor Garden was what started the craze. Meteor Garden was my very first Taiwanese series and it made me take a temporary break from Tokusatsu for a short time. It was a new fad and while I'm kinda bored of it right now (no thanks to that Toku break) but it may be a moment in time before I take another break from Toku. I never started liking TV drama in general because of the telebasura fad . I could remember how often I whined constantly about there's nothing but telebasura to watch. Then Meteor Garden came and sad to say there's an upcoming remake from that stupid network called ABiaS-CBN. Meteor Garden was a remake and adaptation of the Japanese Manga known as Hana Yori Dango. I thought it was Japanese because F4 all wore the Anime hairstyle...

A Lot Of Filipinos Need To Understand How Taiwan Rose From Poverty To Prosperity

Happy Double Ten or Taiwanese Independence Day for the Republic of China otherwise also known as Taiwan!  Taiwan today exists as a major Asian economic tiger aside from Singapore, Hong Kong and SOUTH Korea not North Korea . I don't claim to be an economist (which I'm not) neither am I a political analyst. However, I'd like to share the basics of how Taiwan's economy prospered based on more qualified sources than I am (I couldn't do this post without them). Please don't throw the "But the Philippines is an archipelago and Taiwan is an island!" No, the Philippines can be made a great nation if it learns from its progressive neighboring countries. There's a lot to learn with Taiwan's economic policies. The country wasn't always what it was today. No, it didn't self-industrialize. Don't even think of buying  Heneral Lunatic's idiotology of self-industrialization  as what made first world countries they are today. The land...
