Why Giving Nature Tourist Spots Break Periods From Tourism Is Part Of Good Economics

This image came from ironeXplores It's been several months since Boracay was closed for rehabilitation. It was a planned six month rehabilitation project which the island will have a soft opening by October 26, 2018. So what was going on after some time? The island is now starting to recover its natural pristine beauty. I'm amazed at how this long overdue project (which should have been done during Noynoy Aquino's administration but was presumably shut down out of spite for Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ) was finally done. The results are not instantaneous but it's amazing how much was done by doing the long overdue project. I may not be a fan of the current House Speaker but at least I'm in favor of some of her projects -- which should have been carried by Noynoy during the last term. Now this is one thing I'd like to stress -- tourism is part of good economics but not too much tourism. It's like having the goose who lays the golden eggs and why you shouldn...

It's Time To Suggest Other Beaches In The Philippines That Are WAY Better Than Boracay!

Having gone to Boracay three years ago, my experience wasn't all that great.  I will try to give some places where you might consider good experience.  While I won't dare say that it's more fun in those areas than anywhere else in the world, but I can say these places certainly is, "Everybody pays the same rate.  Souvenirs are cheaper than Boracay places." For one, just because my blog criticizes the Philippines' ill conditions doesn't mean it's criticized in whole.  The Philippines should take care of its tourist spots.  Here's a few islands in the Philippines where there are good beaches and have much less tendencies to be tourist traps plus these places are less commercialized. 1.) Bohol itself is the home of Pamilakan Island.  It's an island trip in Bohol.  Sure it doesn't have the party life of Boracay but as far as concerned, I have had an enjoyable experience in this place.  It's an island hopping experience in Bohol. 2.) ...

David Guerrero's Tagline WON'T Save Boracay

As a person who's not fond of Boracay due to the expensive rates (I was there last 2012), still here's a new issue that was addressed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) revealing the following facts about Boracay which I read from CNN Philippines : The coral cover of Boracay has declined by 70.5% from 1988 to 2011. This is seriously bad news for your ecosystem. This may be due to unmonitored snorkeling and diving activities in Boracay's coral rich area. The result of the coral decline has created a beach erosion which is now constantly endangering its white sand shoreline. JICA's project calledCoastal Ecosystem Conservation and Adaptive Management (CECAM) has also pointed out the alarming decrease of water quality which may sooner or later, not make it safe for swimming. A direct discharge of untreated waste near the shore could trigger algal blooms and coral reef deterioration. Part of the whole study involves Pinoy scientist Ariel Blanco (...
