Making It Fun in the Philippines

2022 is just around the corner. There's so much talk from the IGNORAMUSES. I just thought of one article from Get Real Philippines sayst that a lack of a strong national identity is what led to a dog-eat-dog type of politics. However, I beg to differ from GRP and want to say it out loud - it's NOT that lack of strong national identity BUT the presidential system that gave way to dog-eat-dog politics. Dog-eat-dog is defined as a situation are willing to harm each other in order to succeed. Isn't that what happened last 2019 when #OtsoDiretso decided to literally bring out a jetski, dare President Rodrigo R. Duterte to ride it, just to get a vote ? It's because they were trying to derail the president's popularity. They could've decided to focus on solutions. Instead, they decided to dare Duterte to ride his jetski while Noynoy Aquino hasn't fulfilled his hyperbole to be run over by a literal train.   I remembered some time ago that I wrote it's a bummer to want a healthy opposition BUT to reject the parliamentary system . Now, a new "opposition" body is created called 1Sambayan which has the members such as Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Nancy Bitay, Leni Loud Robredo, Isko Moreno, and Antonio Trillanes IV. This is in hopes of checks and balances. However, for 1Sambatayan to succeed as a GENUINE OPPOSITION against the Duterte Government - it should support the PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM. The problem with the presidential system is that it doesn't have a real formal opposition.  Weren't the Marcos Years a parliamentary system?  If the Marcos Years were truly parliamentary then they would have that Government vs. Opposition layout. That means, if the despot, the late Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. was truly a prime minister then there had to be an Opposition Leader. One could think of the performance of the Liberal Party since 2016 and how it actually FAILED. 2016 was the year when Rodrigo R. Duterte and Leni Loud Robredo became president and vice president. Honestly, I don't care anymore about Bobong Marcos' electoral protest either. It's almost 2022. However, a bit of a history lesson will really be good concerning the Liberal Party's failures. The Liberal Party is really a good picture of how NOT to do politics! They didn't get what they want and that was Mar Roxas for president. Instead, they only got half of what they wanted with Leni Loud. They could've begun by trying to prove themselves better than Duterte. Instead, they shot themselves at the foot WAY TOO MANY TIMES.  One needs to question their use of social media for a start.   I remembered it's been some time since I saw the two Ang Tanging Ina movies - one in college and the other a few years after I finished college. The second movie Ang Tangina N'yong Lahat showed the perils of the presidential system . A lot of incidents lately showed that the call to #LetLeniLead is really NOT the solution. I'm not saying Vice President Leni Loud Robredo is a bad mother. Aika G. Robredo finishing medicine and volunteering is a good thing. The big problem with Leni Loud herself is not her existence but the system that defines her and EVERY OTHER POLITICIAN. It's the problem of the presidential system. Ironic how ABiaS-CBN films made a movie that showed the perils of the presidential system yet they're still so opposed to charter change! I don't want to dismiss any good ideas Leni Loud has. I mean, she did have good proposals . However, she just can't continue making any more feel-good, motherhood statements. She needs to address the problem

  It's one year since May 5, 2020, when the ABiaS-CBN franchise controversy struck. I'm really amazed that even after one year - ABiaS-CBN's massive failure of the mind still continues . I wonder do the people running the network realize they SHOT THEMSELVES at the foot ? They could've supported constitutional reform for their OWN BENEFIT but didn't. Manila Times writer Rigoberto Tiglao managed to expose the fact that ABiaS-CBN did have a certain degree of foreign ownership - something that's currently PROHIBITED in the current constitution. The citizenship of Gabby Lopez wouldn't matter anymore if he was Filipino, American, or EVEN BOTH if it wasn't for the 100% Pinoy-only media stupidity . ABiaS-CBN could've gotten away with an American citizen as part of its owners, having a certain degree of foreign ownership, or even benefit from the digital age (hence franchise may even be UNNECESSARY FOR THEM) IF THEY SUPPORTED CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM.   It's no secret that the COVID-19 infection is now having its vaccinations. People are happily receiving or getting excited about their vaccines. Unfortunately, there are mutant strains of COVID-19 (and three which are notoriously spreading a lot faster than you expect ) together with the rise of the recent mutant strain called Angel-COVID-19 . Last year, there was also the  PAB-COVID-19 , and the rise of the 4Ps-COVID-19 . It seems that 4Ps-COVID-19 last May 1 when pasaways kept asking for much higher ayudas . These new mutated strains are not a joke. The bad news is that these new strains are IMMUNE to vaccines, they easily spread even through social media, the local media, and even by mere talking can get you infected. It's verified that no amount of facemasks or disinfection can easily contain these viruses. However, extreme social distancing is the key to defeat these vaccine-immune strains. Though, we may need #masstestingnow to contain all these new strains of the virus

  Last night was the conclusion of one of Netflix's Top Ten dramas, Vincenzo , a TV drama that Ang Probinsyano (referred to as Brother  in Netflix with only 50 episodes uploaded). Vincenzo had a total of 20 episodes which managed to finish an entire season with the right amount of tension within a given timeframe. Vincenzo managed to create another reason as to why Ang Probinsyano's 1,300+ episodes   is becoming a bad joke in contrast to Korean crime drama .  Just watching the finale last night made me think "Why hasn't Ang Probinsyano  really ended?" Sure, it could be a good idea to remake Ang Probinsyano into a TV series. However, ABiaS-CBN made it into the  the most pointless teleserye still running around . It's already six years and the misadventures of Cardo Dalisay (Coconuts Martin) are still ongoing with no end in sight. Yesterday was Labor Day. Today is a Sunday or a day-off for most people. It would be time to talk about one of the demands of the Ayuda Network (above) for a PHP 10K per month ayuda from the government. This really brings me back to a post I wrote where I mentioned that they demand more ayuda, free stuff, then they are also the same idiots who complain about the increasing COVID-19-related debts . Do these people even think that money comes so easily and is for free? If the government doesn't borrow money then how can it spend money to help defeat COVID-19?  I guess they're not angry at the debt PER SE but they're angry that the government debt isn't used to provide them ayuda. Happy Labor Day! Labor Day is usually associated with Kilusang Mayo Uno and what better way to "celebrate" it than by bringing up the father of Communist China's modernization, Deng Xiaoping's famous quote, "It doesn't matter if the cat is black or white.
