#MaramingSalamatPNoy For Making It Even More Possible To Criminally Charge Maria Ressa?

If there's anyone who we should probably thank for making it even more possible for Wilfredo Keng to sue Maria Ressa -- it's not President Rodrigo R. Duterte but former president Noynoy Aquino. So why should we thank Noynoy? When was the cybercrime law passed? President Duterte didn't sign it into action -- it was Noynoy who did it! While I do think that libel needs to be eased down in one area yet it has to be made serious in another. I believe libel should be made criminal IF and IF ever it harmed someone's life in the process. Otherwise, I'm just going to ignore it.

So why is it important to know that former president Noynoy and not President Duterte signed the law? This is because Yellowtards need to understand that some of the stuff that they are protesting are indeed still endorsed by the 1987 Constitution or the Yellow Camp. A good example is that martial law is still legal and constitutional under the current constitution aside from the signing of the anti-cybercrime law.

I would say that the cybercrime law does need to be amended together with libel laws. However, suing Ressa here is not like me suing people for insulting me online. What Ressa did also harmed somebody's private life and safety. If there was no damaged involved then the libeler can be left alone to rant all he or she wants. But damage was done and that gives ground to charge such libel as a criminal case.

Anyway #MaramingSalamatPNoy for making it possible to criminally charge Ressa herself!
