Will Filipino Rallyists Commemorate Flor Contemplacion's Upcoming 25th "Martyrdom" In The Midst Of The COVID-19?

2015 became 20 years of Flor Contemplacion's "martyrdom" in Singapore. This coming March 17 would be her 25th anniversary. Just notice that big anniversaries are celebrated by the fives such as 5th anniversary, 10th anniversary, 15th anniversary, etc., right? This year would be the silver anniversary of Flor's supposed martyrdom at the hands of "unjust" Singapore. The 20th anniversary had the members of Migraine International with all their nonsense. The members of Migraine demand jobs in the Philippines but they don't want foreigners to invest in the Philippines. I always find that stupid because the Philippines alone can't generate jobs. True, foreign investors aren't the only job providers but how many Filipino businessmen can provide jobs for a lot of Filipinos needing them?

The whole sensation behind Flor's "martyrdom" last 1995. I was only in elementary when it happened. It was that time when her "martyrdom" happened. I was told she was an innocent victim. The flag of Singapore was burned. I heard that even President Rodrigo R. Duterte made that same mistake back then. Then again, wasn't President Duterte once an ally of the Dilawans himself as the late Corazon C. Aquino appointed him mayor of Davao City? A movie called The Flor Contemplacion Story was released by the biased VIVA Films. The movie itself was a top hit for quite some time among Filipinos. Flor's twin sons Joel and Junjun starred as THEMSELVES in the movie. There's no way Joel and Junjun would act in the movie if was to prove Flor's guilt. I decided to watch the movie myself and it was really a desperate attempt to paint Flor as a martyr. It did work for some time until evidence of her guilt was shown years later. Yet, some Filipinos still want to standby "Saint" Flor, right? After all, there's the mentality of standing by your fellow Filipino no matter what, right?

The 20th anniversary happened during a better time for the rallyists. However, the 25th anniversary isn't a better time (also for them) due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. Manila is currently under quarantine and mass gatherings are temporarily suspended. That's right from March 15, 2020 up to April 14, 2020 - there's a TEMPORARY suspension of gatherings. If people are told to stay home for their OWN GOOD then they have to do it. It's not dictatorial if your doctor advised you to be quarantined or to take a bed rest if your body is in the state of recovery. It's not dictatorial if your teacher tells you to have your exam rescheduled because your body is too weak to take it. It's not dictatorial for your chemistry teacher to be strict because the subject itself requires extreme caution. Yet for rallyists they are acting like it's a concentration camp. When this martial law was declared - it's the same as to why martial law was declared in Mindanao. Martial law was declared in Mindanao due to the peace and order situation. Plus, even the current constitution still endorses martial law in times of danger.

Then again they can break the law at their own risk. They could probably still attempt to celebrate by rallying on the streets to defy the current safety order. Right now, it might be good to dare those idiots into rallying. It's common sense really to avoid mass gatherings during an epidemic. Then again since when did their kind ever bother to simple guidelines, right?
