Pinklawans' Big Problem Is That They OPPOSE Constitutional Reform Based On Feelings Instead Of FACTS

 

Right now, it really seems that the whole "mourning event" last September 21, 2017, may have been a serious blow on the Dilawans, now Pinklawans. The event where the late Noynoy Aquino along with his fellow party members "mourned" for the supposed "death of democracy" is truly LAUGHABLE. We also have Pinklawan "thought leaders" like Frank Baklaan IV, Jim Paredes, Leah Navarro, Jover Laurio, Agot Isidro, and Gerry Cacanindin. One thing is certain - these Pinklawans are opposing constitutional reforms based on their feelings over facts. The posts at Pignoy Ako Blog (which the original website now redirects you to the Facebook page instead) are just emotionally driven. Gerry's tweets on Twitter are nothing more than emotionally-driven stupidity. If Gerry wants to promote his beloved Vice President Leni Loud Robredo - he should just focus on promoting her than derailing others.

I was thinking about why arguing with a Pinklawan is NO LESS stressful than Pinklawans arguing with Dutertards. The Pinklawan narrative has been long driven with EMOTIONAL APPEAL. Everything about constitutional reform was so badly marred with emotional stupidity. It's all about opposing BADLY NEEDED constitutional reform based on FEELINGS over FACTS. You want them to sit down and listen for a while? Tough luck because it'd be like a Dutertard who'd refuse to listen to whatever good Noynoy did or whatever mistakes President Rodrigo R. Duterte did.

Still relying on the EDSA-Marcos narrative instead of doing research

The whole opposition of constitutional reform is built on the whole "EDSA narrative". They are still sitting with the whole Marcos vs. Aquino narrative. Sure, Bobong Marcos was getting annoying. However, they decide to focus on the whole " Aquino good, Marcos bad" narrative almost all the time. Some idiots still want to relive the glory of EDSA-1 which happened in 1986. I'm not saying EDSA-1 was a bad thing. The bad thing happened AFTER EDSA-1 when state protectionism and the presidential form of government continued. The Foreign Investment Act of 1991 really continued to protect the oligarchs through the 60-40 measurement. Sorry Fact Check PH but you're wrong in that regard. Limiting foreign ownership does protect the oligarchs!

Try to talk about them about the parliamentary system and be ready to hear them whine. One of the favorite excuses is again linked to the whole Marcos narrative. Factually speaking, the Marcos Years weren't a real parliamentary system. Cesar Virata was just a sitting duck as the late Lee Kian Yew called him in the book From Third World to First. If they did any research - they will realize that Benigno Simeon "Ninoy" A. Aquino Jr. exposed the Marcos Years as a MOCK PARLIAMENTARY. If they did any more research than just cherry-pick - they will find out how Lee Kuan Yew turned Singapore into a first-world country through foreign investments and the parliamentary system. Prime Lee Hsien Loong has ruled as prime minister from Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's term. Instead of doing research - all they will do is bring back the Marcos Narrative and the Arroyo Narrative. I dare these fools to go to Singapore and tell them that the 1987 Constitution is the best in the world.

Emotional appeal based on those they agree with rather than searching for the facts 

Talk about amending the constitution for the better? They might end up bringing up Hilarious Davide all over again. Ask them the question of who they will listen to between Davide and the late John Gokongwei then expect another emotional response. Expect them to continue gushing over Davide's blunder concerning foreign investments saying Gokongwei was supposedly just profit-oriented. However, Gokongwei knows all about economic policies and why reform must happen. Gokongwei built a business empire that gave jobs to Filipinos. Did Davide really do it? Yet, they will keep gushing over Davide who they believe was an incorruptible official. Though, I'm having doubts about that now especially in regards to the documentary Give Up Tomorrow where Davide is related to Thelma Jimenea-Chiong by marriage. Also, the same documentary exposed the late Judge Martin Ocampo not to be incorruptible but a very lousy judge too. Ocampo chose to ignore any evidence on the side of the Chiong 7 - all seven people WRONGLY TAGGED to a crime they didn't commit! Yet, they still rode on emotional appeal like what happened with the Vizconde Massacre Trial. These botched trials were a result of feelings over facts. Would have the judges examined ALL EVIDENCE - maybe the real killers would've been caught and the victims of the crime would be avenged. Until now, we will never know who slew the Chiong Sisters and who slew the Vizconde Family because of feelings over facts.

It can also be observed with the wave of "information" to dismiss reforms. I guess they could care less about credible sources if it doesn't agree with them. One of them is well, Pignoy Ako Blog. Another is Rappler and they may be citing Toady Casino's articles OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Another emotional appeal could be all that's said by the Monsod couple namely Christian and his wife Solitas also known as Mareng Winnie. The Monsods are so stuck with the rigid narrative as well. Maybe, another of their favorite sources is Jan Carlos Punongbayad. I'm not dismissing any truth Punongbayad has said. However, it seems Punongbayad is still too stuck with the Marcos narrative to even move forward with solutions. This also creates the network of Pinklawans who are relying more on what somebody in their party said. 

Maybe, I could talk about the gushing appeal of awards that their fellow party members get. TBH, I must admit that I don't care anymore about the awards Maria Ressa gets - even the Nobel Peace Prize. Western liberals have been awarding Filipino liberals. Liela Dilemma is another one whose awards come from similar organizations. I guess they would rather listen to what an awardee has to say because hte person has an award to admire to than to get to the source of the truth. I don't even care if Jover or Antonio Trillanes IV will get the Nobel Peace Prize - let them have it! Not all awards are worth mentioning. In fact, I'm amazed that the Pinklawans haven't dared to talk much (or at all) about Ressa's interview with Stephen Sackur on BBC HARDtalk. Until now, I still laugh at how Ressa made a fool out of herself. Hopefully, Sackur will interview Jover next after he roasted Trillanes, Lourdes Sereno, and Ressa on his show.

It doesn't matter (really) who talks as long as they're offended. It doesn't matter even if a great constitutionalist from a progressive country will tell them. Ironic (really) how they can say "GO HOME TO YOUR COUNTRY!" then crawl asking for help from the United States of America (USA), the European Union (EU), or the International Clowning Court (ICC) when they feel they need help. Their feelings just continue to govern them and it's getting obvious. I guess this weakness alone might be another reason why still think democracy is dead - because it's only democracy when people like them are in power, right? 

The presidential system is really ran more on FEELINGS than FACTS

Besides, hasn't it been proven that the presidential system is ran on feelings than facts? When Ninoy died - the people rallied behind the late Corazon "Cory" Cojuangco-Aquino to be their president. It would've been good if Cory herself maintained the role of symbolic Head of State like Queen Elizabeth II of England or Halima Yacob of Singapore. Instead, Cory, a housewife with NO EXPERIENCE in politics, was made to run the nation. The Pinklawans will always refuse to admit Cory herself had made mistakes or that competition wasn't as healthy. All they say, "BASTA CORY RESTORED DEMOCRACY!" However, it's been proven that Cory wasn't so good either. It was a big blunder to let Cory rule the country when she had no experience in politics. Cory should've remained as the Head of State while another person takes the role of the Head of Government.

After Cory and Fidel V. Ramos - feelings ruled over facts again. The election of Joseph "Erap" Estrada as the president is just plain stupid. People knew that Erap was really an imbecile yet they voted for him based on his POPULARITY. Once again, feelings over facts, right? Jose De Venecia himself was more fit to rule the nation but he lacked the charisma Erap had. A parliamentary system would've allowed Erap and De Venecia to face each other in weekly debates. De Venecia could've called for a vote of no confidence ON AIR if Erap proves himself unfit to lead. Erap could've been disqualified from running. Instead, Erap was able to run again even after he should've been disqualified proves presidential system is based on emotions over facts.

The next feelings over facts happened during Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's regime. Now, I'm wondering if all the charges against Gloria were indeed real or just allegations. Cory died during the near-end of Gloria's term. Before that, the late Fernando Poe Jr. was asked to run and he's a movie star with NO POLITICAL KNOWLEDGE. Again, isn't presidential government nothing more than showbiz politics? I guess if ever Gloria cheated - it would be a lesser evil that saved the Philippines from a greater evil. Cory eventually died and Noynoy was made to run for president as a result. That's why there was a meme that said that if Noynoy dies (which he is now) then maybe Joshua Aquino, his nephew, may become the next president. Fortunately, Kris Aquino isn't running for politics which is also good for her considering her health condition.

I guess that's why the Pinklawans love the presidential system. It's all because they love to deal with feelings instead of facts. Unfortunately, that will be their own undoing. They could've benefited better with a parliamentary system with weekly debates. Instead, their being emotional just leads them to more stupidity than they already got themselves into. Now, only if the Pinklawans will just do some REAL RESEARCH if they ever wish to be relevant again!
