Recalling Maria Ressa's Nobel Peace Prize? Why EVEN BOTHER?

I find it funny how people often file for SILLY PETITIONS. Right now, there's even the call to recall Maria Ressa's prize. Personally, I don't find it a slap against the Duterte Administration neither do I feel it's something to be envious about. Let's face it - those award-winning bodies that gave awards to the likes of Ressa and Liela Dilemma are already questionable so why bother even fuming about them? The so-called "experts of the Philippines and even the world" can't even fix their own problems. For instance, the USA is already a good example in that they really have their COVID-19 cases MUCH WORSE. The International Criminal Court (ICC) Is also pretty questionable with how it's better renamed as the International CLOWN Court or International CIRCUS Court. It was good that the late Miriam Defensor Santiago refused to be part of it or she may have died much earlier.

Now, I was thinking about Ressa's Nobel Peace Prize (and hopefully, she will get a Nobel Prize in Physics soon) might be rather self-defeating. Some time ago, her very news organization, Rappler, even once wrote if the Nobel Prize is truly losing its prestige. Ressa was the founder of the said organization. So why even bother accepting the nomination and the award after publishing an article about questioning the Nobel Prize. The Nobel Foundation already has many questionable entries in the past and lost its credibility years ago. Ressa receiving that award already proves one thing - she's awarded by an organization of QUESTIONABLE CREDIBILITY. Also, Ressa's credibility is truly shrinking as she's awarded by western organizations of QUESTIONABLE CREDIBILITY.

This is what I can advice - let Ressa keep receiving her awards from the West. Does everyone in the West even believe her? Stephen Sackur of BBC HARDtalk fame even had her on-air and gave her the Sackur Punch Award. I had a good laugh watching Sackur's interview when it showed and re-watched it during the time Ressa announced her award. I'm really still laughing to think about how and why some people want that award revoked. The very body that gave her the award already lost credibility years ago. Ressa too has lost her credibility.

Honestly, it would be fascinating if ever Antonio Trillanes IV and Jover Laurio would get the Nobel Peace Prize too. Put it simply - the Nobel Foundation is proving its loss of credibility. It would be more fun if Ressa's closest friends get the award too. Trillanes can probably be nominated for attempting to overthrow a perceived dictator TWICE. Jover might even get awarded for her shoddy work called Pignoy Ako Blog. Let's just celebrate the fact that Ressa is getting awards from organizations with QUESTIONABLE CREDIBILITY.
