Want To Get A Degree In BS Philippine Expertise? Go Get It In The US-Based Or EU-Based Universities!
Why I'm writing this mockery of a blog post because of previous and most recent events too. I'm amazed at the arrogance of people like Phelim Kine and Agnes Callamard. A recent report has it that US Senate committee has passed resolution backing up Maria Ressa and Liela Dilemma. It's no surprise that Callamard herself was backing up CRappler. I may be no political analyst, economist, journalist, or diplomat but it doesn't mean I can't grasp simple political and economic concepts by self-study. If the US and EU can't even keep peace and order well in their territory then what gives them the credibility to meddle in the Philippines? Does the US Senate even know the full story behind Dilemma? Granted, Ressa did become an American citizen at some point in her life but Dilemma has always been a Filipino citizen. The Philippines already stopped being an American colony on July 4, 1948! Why are US politicians now MEDDLING in affairs that they shouldn't meddle? Why aren't they meddling in countries like North Korea or China for a start if they want to show how great they are? Maybe go to any trouble spot in the Middle East? Why the Philippines of all places? If they can show that they can resolve human rights violations in bigger trouble spots then they are welcome. If not then STFU!
Let's do some common sense tests with some humor. Has any Filipino even become truly an expert in their own country? None! Why do these arrogant white men meddling in the Philippines suddenly think that they've become experts of the said country? Did they get it by dating a Filipino woman desperate for money, they swam on the beaches of the Philippines, and presto they became experts of the Philippines? Why don't they open up their own universities or at least offer a course called Bachelor of Science in Philippine Expertise for a start? They can later offer a master's and a doctorate in it when the course gets more than enough enrollees. Maybe, they can start teaching it in their public universities where a lot of the new generation of socialist snowflakes gather. Then they can set requirements that enrollees must have liberal political views and non-conservative to enroll in the said course, right?
Maybe, I also need to mention of some Filipinos getting arrogant because they have a degree from abroad. Some of the Dilawan credentialists may mention that some of the Dilawans such as Mar Roxas, Winnie Monsod, and Joseph Pabaya are graduates from abroad. Some Filipinos tend to even get arrogant towards their own fellow Filipinos because they already got a degree abroad. Recto diplomas should be dismissed. However, a diploma from Wharton, Cornell, or any university in the US or EU is no license for arrogance. I know some of these schools are hard to enter but the question is did they throw away their common sense? Did they end up like the highly educated but very stupid scholars in the story of The Scholars and the Lion? I don't care about their degrees if they have lost their common sense. I thought getting a degree was all I needed until I realized that school doesn't teach me everything I need to learn. Life itself is a school and I guess that's what some people just ignore, right?
