There are people cheering as Maria Ressa of Rappler is the first Filipino to get the Nobel Peace Prize. With that in mind - I decided that there's going to be yet another possible nominee namely Antonio F. Trillanes IV. Trillanes has been playing the victim and portrayed as a martyr. Heck, some even think he's the "new Ninoy Aquino". Though, Trillanes is very much alive meaning that there's no recently grieving widow to counter Bobong Marcos. Trillanes has been hailed as a hero by many of his supporters. If Ressa can get the Nobel Peace Prize this year then maybe Trillanes himself can be the NEWEST nominee or even the NEWEST winner.
It's amazing to see how Trillanes has been portrayed as "that hero" during the "dark times". Who can remember the time when he caused not one but two infamous (but FAILED) mutinies namely the Manila Peninsula Mutiny and the Oakwood Mutiny. The charges against him were dropped (again) presumably because he had help from the late Chito Gascon of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and maybe also from Etta Rosales - both his allies. The whole incident was regarded to be a half-brained plan. Trillanes got arrested with many of his fellow Magdalo soldiers. However, Trillanes was later granted pardon by the late Noynoy Aquino. I think it's just dumb actually not to let Trillanes serve his full term. Instead, Trillanes got hailed as the "Bayani ng Oakwood".
Later, Trillanes ended up as Duterte's number one critic or is it? Critic or destabilizer? There is a big difference between them. In fact, like Ressa, Trillanes may have a lot of charges of libel and sedition underway. Trillanes has been claiming to simply be "just doing his job" or "spreading the truth". However, the alliance seems to be more suspicious. Like Ressa, Trillanes was also a sponsor for the wedding of Jover herself. Apparently, Trillanes is funding Pignoy Ako Blog and I doubt it that Kris Aquino is doing it alone.Right now, Trillanes is still enjoying his freedom after his charges were dropped for a reason. Trillanes is once again hailed as a hero by the so-called Opposition.
If one can think about it - Ressa herself might also help promote Trillanes as a hero to those who awarded her. After all, Ressa has some international awards which she could use to help promote Trillanes. Trillanes might as well be ready to become a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Trillanes, in fact, may be another step forward to further questioning the credibility of the Nobel Peace Prize. I say let Trillanes have his award from the Western liberals.
