My Reaction to Cebu City Sending Help to Eastern Samar

I have read from Sun Star that Cebu City just sent a team to help Eastern Samar recover from Typhoon Ruby.  Now let me share my thoughts.  It's nice to know Cebu City sent help for Yolanda not just last year but also this year.  Some local Cebuano non-government charities also helped and City Hall is lending a helping hand, something that the Nobitacratic government has failed to do. So what is CCDRRMC doing?  It's sending its team of electricians, carpenters, tree cutters, traffic enforcers and other personnel.  It also will clear out fallen trees, repair classrooms and hand over relief goods, none from Corazon "Stinky" Soliman.  They will also show films on disaster awareness to educate the people.  It's a good thing they are taking the initiative without waiting for Imperial Manila's mandate.  It's a good thing that Cebu City is trying to model itself to become a model for Philippine development.  What is better is that they are willi...

My Understanding of Why Do Overseas Failipino Workers Remain Poor

This slogan says it all to what most OFWs are... while there are a few good ones who are OFWs with a plan! I'm getting sick and tired of Failipinos bragging that Pinoys are taking over the world with the OFW phenomenon. Before anything, do they know what W in OFW really means? It means these Pinoys who work abroad are UNDER the authority of their foreign masters. It's an absurd idea to think even for a second that "galing ng Pinoy" or "the Pinoy is great" because of OFWs. Sad to say but some OFWs aren't even worth applauding like Jonathan Aquino or the late Flor Contemplacion. Now let's tackle on the topic, "Why do overseas Failipino workers remain poor?" Just a note, Failipino refers to any bad countryman of the Philippines. Paul Farol of Get Real Philippines had shared his own views. Now let me share mine. I would like to share it based on my friend who is a seaman and my driving instructor. I had an exchange of conversation with hi...

My Reaction Towards "Emergency Powers" for President Nobita

Emergency powers... it's more fun in the Philippines! One of the biggest issues of Luzon is its power shortage.  Now we can understand the challenge of size and being an archipelago.  However there is another problem they all keep failing to deal with.  It's the words "oligarchy" and "monopoly".  What is worse, according to Sun Star News is that t he House approves of emergency powers for President Nobita . Like it or not but this Photoshop from So What's News satirical website.   Meralco is a monopoly in Luzon.  Now what happens in a monopoly?  Monopoly means one supplier, many buyers.  Without competition, it shows no need to be competitive.  Unfortunately, economic protectionism is a real problem that people face.  It may protect local businesses but it also encourages mediocrity, bad services, fails to generate more employment and you can name it.

Colonial Mentality is Just Another Poor Excuse to Cover Up Pinoy Incompetence

Colonial mentality is bad no questions asked. On the other hand, its opposite extreme called ethnocentrism is also just as bad. In free trade policy, I buy your wares, you buy mine. It's like I am selling ampao and in exchange, I also buy Japanese rice crackers to thank the guy for buying my ampao. It's the cycle of give and time. Nobody gives, there's nothing to take. Nobody takes, there's nothing to give. It's a cycle you must respect. The enlightened Pinoy understands give and take, the Failipino doesn't. However Failipino culture is always bordered on INCOMPETENCE. The "pwede na yan" or "that will do" mentality has been prevalent even before President Nobita Aquino's regime. It's the culture of mediocrity that has led to an influx of bad Pinoy products. Instead of quality Pinoy products, you have a huge influx of Failipino products. Products that are so bad it's bad for both local and international. So what's going on? ...

Who is to Blame for Bad Politics in the Philippines?

Guess who put these bozos in power in the first place?! One may consider the cycle of the Philippines of bad politics one way or another. Let's think about history and what has happened. Remember the Philippines lives under the rule of democracy or majority wins. Sad to say but the typical Pinoy culture is more prevalent than the enlightened Pinoy culture. Pinoys are at civil war because they are divided among Failipinos and the enlightened Pinoy. The answer is obvious... it's the people. Sherap and Nobita.... one idiot after another! What is wrong with Pinoy politics? It's the problem of having winnability over credibility. People are always voting for people because of popularity, not credibility. The whole issue has led for incompetency and political dynasties in the Philippine government. This leads us to have two classic examples... Sherap Estrada and President Nobita Aquino. Why did Sherap win? While I do credit his experience in politics as a mayor, senator...

Throwing Out Economic Protectionism Will Make Investment Fun in the Philippines

It's time to throw out protectionism to develop the Philippines! While the 1987 Constitution had limited the presidential powers, however one must remember no law is perfect. One has to modify the law for the better. Sad to say but the 1987 Constitution also created the law of 60/40 which strengthened the Marcos oligarchy system. What's sad to say is that some people still insist in protectionism even when the Philippines is suffering from its effects. It's all thanks to the disorder called "Pinoy Pride" which really destroys the Philippines as a whole. I can understand why Cebu has foreign investments but the Philippines cannot just rely on a few economic zones. the problem is 60/40 which says that foreigners may only own 40% of shares and that 60% must belong to the Filipino. This policy is utterly unwise and stupid. One may consider what the 60/40 policy in the Philippines reflects on the majority of Pinoys. Culture defines a country and sad to say, the Ph...

Trying to Respond To A Really Facedesk Worthy Comment From E. Subijano

Here's a facepalm worthy comment I got from Manila Times : "The Philippines will be a loser without foreign investments? In the first place foreign investors take out more capital than they bring in. No, the Filipinos will not lose without foreign investments. The Filipinos will survive and become even better without it."  Here's a sensible response from someone called Domo: "Yeah right subijano like how? Make substandard products with their dysfunctional pinoy pride thanks to their “pwede na iyan” mentality? So much for world class." Now it's time for me to write my response with an open letter to E. Subijano: One thing is certain E. Subijano it would be safe to assume the following about you. You are a person who has his Pinoy Pride. You are a typical Failipino because of your Pinoy Pride. You are against the values of the enlightened Pinoy . Besides you might need to really think of Filipino history. Let me remind you of Filipino history. ...
