Do The Dilawans Understand The Real Meaning Of "The System"?

Did Leni Loud Robredo get propelled into politics because of her or only because the late Jesse Robredo, well, died? I missed the fact that it was Robredo's birthday two days ago. We can remember Jesse for his outstanding leadership as mayor of Naga City in Bicol and as the DILG secretary. However, I feel like there has been no real closure yet if Jesse's death was purely an accident or if there was foul play involved. I mean, there seems to be a folder in his room that had a dangerous list of narco-politicians. Did the list include Jesse's own party too? I can't really tell. Then Jesse died and the career of Leni Loud was launched. Now, Leni Loud is still getting endorsed with Jesse in mind!

Jesse had one quote that probably gets misunderstood by the Yellows. It's pretty much saying, "It's not enough for an official to be good. There has to be a system that forces them to be good." The quote really might have been used by the late Carlos Celdran too. However, the quote has been misunderstood by the likes of Jover Laurio of Pignoy Ako Blog - do they understand the real meaning of system change? I remembered writing a Tagalog article (which I usually don't prefer) about that those who follow Pignoy Ako Blog should learn the REAL MEANING of system change.

Here's a tweet from Pignoy Ako Blog from last year due to the ABiaS-CBN franchise issue. If anything, do they really see that the late Noynoy Aquino had some issues with the network's arrogance that resulted in their admonition? It looks like that if there's any other stuff President Rodrigo R. Duterte is carrying over from Noynoy are not just unfinished projects (due to term limits) but also the non-renewal of the ABiaS-CBN franchise. Jover apparently thinks that system change equals people change. Is Jover really planning to run for senator this 2022? Well, I hope Jover does with a fancy jingle to make a fool out of herself. Holding on until 2022? Why not CHANGE THE SYSTEM NOW? The system now is that stupid resulting in more stupidity.

The idea that system change equals people change is STUPID. It's like changing an incompetent driver but still using the same old broken car. Bad drivers and good drivers alike will fall into the cliff with a broken car. A good driver will know when it's time to change the car. A good car will reveal a bad driver. The problem is the 1987 Constitution is already outdated. Not even the 1987 Constitution's provisions say it was meant to be set in stone. In fact, it was set OPEN FOR AMENDMENTS which means it's NOT ILLEGAL to replace the 1987 Constitution ACCORDING to the 1987 Constitution. Yet, Hilarious Davide says there's no need for amendments even when the SAME constitution is open for it. Ironic, huh?

Unfortunately, the presidential system is bordered on popularity-based politics. A good example is the Liberal Party's theatrics. It's not just the Liberal Party - you also must account for the groundbreaking stupidity that happens EVERY ELECTION even before the Liberal Party regained dominance. Who can remember the rise of Joseph Estrada? It was even alleged that an inexperienced in politics actor, the late Fernando Poe Jr., actually won as president in the midst of the Hello Garci scandal. If it was true then why wasn't Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo REMOVED? The presidential system is encouraging people to be useless. Franklin Drilon easily sleeps off. Noynoy was also controversial for his power naps. Duterte is now also taking power naps. Same system, different people, and what much will that do? The Dilawans still don't want real constitutional reform even when the 1987 Constitution is open for amendments?

Much brain drain and other incidents could've been prevented under a parliamentary system. It's because a parliamentary system is based on credibility-based politics. A president is elected by the people to serve as their representative but not someone with powers. For example, we could've had the late Corazon Cojuangco-Aquino as the head of state while Fidel V. Ramos served as the head of government. Also, a parliamentary system keeps everyone active. The Government and the Opposition are well-organized into two debating teams. Each side has its own set of appointees to contest each other. Right now, appointees are scrambled like mahjong blocks. For example, the Commission On Audit (COA) has a Yellow-appointed Michael Aguinaldo as its head when he should be the Shadow Minister of Audit instead. Aguinaldo should be probing an actual Minister of Audit directly first. Leni Loud should've been the deputy opposition leader if Mar Roxas is the opposition leader. Weekly questioning will force both sides to come up with solutions or risk getting voted out either way.

So the question is what do Yellows really know about the system? Do they still think NOTHING is wrong with the constitution? If so, why is even their beloved constitution open to be amended every now and then? Why did Ramos up to Noynoy even amend the negative list of the constitution? Why are we passing new laws every now and then? It's because the constitution is flawed and needs to be corrected every now and then.
