Filipinos don't owe Carlos Celdran anything? Well, not quite, and not as all as the ever clueless Benign0 of Get Real Philippines would want to make it out to be. True, Celdran was supporting Roxas-Robredo but he was definitely one who said that the current constitution is the real problem of the Philippines. He even mentioned about the anti-reform crybabies who love to bring Marcos up. If anything, it seems that Benign0's hatred for Celdran is probably rooted in one cause - CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM. True, Celdran was anti-Duterte, he made a mistake by wishing Duterte ill, died after that BUT he actually was a person who fought for constitutional reform. Somehow, I still can't forget about how Benign0 actually agreed with former president Noynoy Aquino on saying no to constitutional reform. Moreso, Benign0 even still wants Filipinos to self-industrialize while he hypocritically blasts Filipino communists who also believe in the said nonsense.
So why do Filipinos owe Celdran something but Jover Laurio, well, nothing? For one, Celdran knew the root cause of the problem was in the 1987 Constitution. Although Celdran was openly a supporter of the Liberal Party - he was probably still hoping to get Yellows to advocate for Constitutional Reform. But such is not the case of Laurio of Pignoy Ako Blog. Laurio herself is an opponent of constitutional reform. What does she mean by change the system? I don't think she means by modernizing the existing law of the land. What I think she means by it is by putting the Yellowtards back in power. Laurio doesn't even see that the real problem with today's incompetence lies with the SYSTEM itself. Laurio even complained as to why constitutional reform is being discussed in the face of the epidemic. Even worse, Laurio even decided to invite people over the Bayad Muna grand "mananita" last June 12. That's just sheer irresponsibility one way or another.
I'm amazed at how Laurio complains and blames the wrong stuff for rising unemployment. I don't mind if Laurio continues to be an anti-Duterte critic as long as she supports constitutional reform. For instance, she could've cited that ABiaS-CBN's loss of franchise and forced layoff was a result of them violating the lousy 1987 Constitution's 100% Pure Pinoy media only. Laurio could've said that if the Philippines would just remove protectionism then ABiaS-CBN wouldn't lose its government franchise. How does Laurio even propose to help fix the COVID-19 problem if she refuses to fix the system that's holding back the development to solve it? I don't mind Leni Loud Robredo leading under the parliamentary system - either she does well or she's out! Hopefully, Leni Loud will see the need for system change and not just people change. However, Laurio still seems to think that constitutional reform is evil all the while she went to Taiwan - a country that greatly benefited from FOREIGN INVESTMENT. Jover simply recommended going to Taiwan rather than follow Taiwan's economic system.
As said, Celdran really addressed the problems of the 1987 Constitution - something Laurio didn't decide to do. It would be helpful if Laurio decided to also propagate constitutional reform. Instead, followers of her all decide to still spread fear-mongering such as no more elections under parliamentary system, opening to foreign investment means Chinese takeover, and the like. Celdran was anti-Duterte but he didn't spread such nonsense. That's why Celdran made more sense even when he was an anti-Duterte critic over Laurio who criticizes but never offers any real solutions.
We need more Filipinos (regardless if they're pro or anti-Duterte) like the late Carlos Celdran. Instead of demanding for small-time solutions and having a loser mindset, focus on the root cause.
ReplyDeleteYup that's what I meant. Jover Laurio herself is just focused on small-time solutions. I'm not against her because she's anti-Duterte. It's because of her lack of solutions and always whining. I think the same goes for Get Real Philippines.
