This Mother's Day, Think If You Want An "Ang Tanging Ina N'yong Lahat" Type Of Presidency

I remembered it's been some time since I saw the two Ang Tanging Ina movies - one in college and the other a few years after I finished college. The second movie Ang Tangina N'yong Lahat showed the perils of the presidential system. A lot of incidents lately showed that the call to #LetLeniLead is really NOT the solution. I'm not saying Vice President Leni Loud Robredo is a bad mother. Aika G. Robredo finishing medicine and volunteering is a good thing. The big problem with Leni Loud herself is not her existence but the system that defines her and EVERY OTHER POLITICIAN. It's the problem of the presidential system. Ironic how ABiaS-CBN films made a movie that showed the perils of the presidential system yet they're still so opposed to charter change!

I don't want to dismiss any good ideas Leni Loud has. I mean, she did have good proposals. However, she just can't continue making any more feel-good, motherhood statements. She needs to address the problem to the CORE. Is she talking about economics and unemployment? She should really start talking about how to generate jobs. She could start talking to open up the economy to foreign investment so there will be MORE JOBS and MORE INCOME for the Philippines. However, as long as Leni Loud gives solutions but REFUSES to accept the only way they can be implemented - she's just ranting over and over again.

Let us think about how Leni Loud is showing how she's really in danger of becoming another Ina Montecillo. These photos above show that she's NOT following simple guidelines. It wasn't wrong for her to give spaghetti. The problem is when she failed to put the spaghetti in a sealed container before handing it over to poor families. Just looking at her "physical presence" is really another pathetic excuse. Don't tell me those Angat Buhay branches need Leni Loud all the time? I think her physical presence is her trying to become the Ang Tanging Ina N'yong Lahat like Ina in the same movie. Is she really simply trying to establish a motherhood type of presidency?

This also shows the problem of the presidential system. People in the presidential system are usually focused on dumb ways to vote. The song "Dumb Ways to Vote" fails to address the problem of the presidential system. How often are people voted in the presidency like it's a beauty contest except for the male contestants also face off against female contestants running for the same position? It's all about popularity such as how Joseph Estrada won because of his status as an actor and Noynoy Aquino won because of his deceased parents. 2022 is drawing near AND it seems the only way for Leni Loud to win is to imitate Ina in the Ang Tanging Ina film series.

However, a parliamentary system would end up preventing this kind of scenario. It's because Leni Loud (or any politician) for that matter is encouraged or coerced by the system to BEHAVE. People vote by PARTIES - not by PEOPLE. For example, if you vote for the Liberal Party then #OtsoDiretso can be voted AUTOMATICALLY without a block vote. Another example is if you vote for PDP-Laban then you end up voting for Sara Duterte and all those with her. If Leni Loud were in the parliamentary - she would be subjected to scrutiny whether she's in the Government or the Opposition. She would need to be in the weekly question hour.

This isn't a question anymore about who will make a good president or not. The much bigger issue the SYSTEM. Just think what do the top ten nations in the world have in common? It's not just quality politicians but they're all PARLIAMENTARY!
