Migraine International (And Other Related Groups) Might Politicize Singapore's Latest COVID-19 Plight

I remembered I wrote last March on the 25th anniversary of the late Flor Contemplacion. The silver anniversary gathering was halted due to the social distancing order. If they did celebrate - maybe the just simply celebrated by rewatching the movie which I think is still available on Youtube. Although it's already an old issue (I was only a child when it happened) but one can't deny how the commemoration of her "martyrdom" went on that long. The 20 years anniversary was met with such "pomp and revelry". Some people probably want the film The Flor Contemplacion Story which starred Nora Aunor (alongside Flor's twin sons Joel and Jun-Jun as themselves) to be on Netflix. The reason why I'm writing this post has to do with the latest news from Manila Bulletin that Singapore is currently number one in the COVID-19 outbreak as of April 19, 2020. It looks like chances of Filipino activist groups will politicize it are VERY HIGH.

The same news from the Manila Bulletin reveals that out of 596 new cases that only 25 were Singaporean citizens. The COVID-19 or Legacy Virus pandemic also reveals of FOREIGN WORKERS housed in tightly-packed dormitories. I believe a huge amount of these foreign workers mentioned there are Filipinos. I would say that the tightly-packed dormitories are probably one factor that the Singaporean government needs to look into and solve ASAP. During the time of the increase from 100 to 1,000 (that's ten times) would probably be also caused by OFWs who just refuse to follow simple guidelines. There are incidents of Filipino workers in Singapore who just can't follow simple guidelines. From what I heard, there are also Filipinos who gather around on the parks on Sundays and refuse to clean the place up. There were also reports of the rather crude Filipino "independence day" celebrations in Singapore last 2014. I believe that a lot of Filipino foreign workers (though not all) may be a contributing factor to Singapore's current plight aside from the fact that it's such a small country.

How do I think Migraine International (and other related groups) will politicize Singapore? These are just my guesses but I'm actually basing it on their obvious modus operandi. Here are my following guesses on how they'll seek to politicize Singapore's current plight:
  • Make it look like or say that it was God's divine retribution on Singapore just like what Yoly Ong and Leah Navarro did with the Mindanao earthquakes. Their reason for believing in the "retribution" is because they were unable to celebrate Flor's 25th "martyrdom" anniversary. What they may be ignoring is that their fellow Filipinos are also suffering because of it. They better be careful though because divine retribution might hit them instead! They're ignoring that the Philippines may outdo Singapore soon if people don't follow simple quarantine guidelines
  • Blame the COVID-19 outbreak in Singapore on capitalism (and maybe even foreign investors) as the cause of it. The irony is that they supposedly want to stop labor exploit yet they don't want to invite foreign investors to do business in the Philippines. They want jobs but expect the government to generate jobs for Filipinos. They are bozos who know nothing about retribution. They ignore that Venezuela (thanks to protectionism) is very ill-equipped. Who knows maybe Venezuela is actually number one in the COVID-19 outbreak and they're too embarrassed to release the actual figures.

At this point, it might be good to keep an eye on Migraine International and other related groups. Remember a little misinformation can go a long way. They don't have the right to defend Sarah Elago from fake news from her haters if they too are spreading fake news.
