You can always say I've got quite a thing for Taiwan (which for me is the true home of Chinese culture) and South Korea. Currently, I'm a fan of Gong Cha where its current management is South Korean. There's news that K-Drama stars (which includes K-Pop "fags") were donating plenty of money in the fight against COVID-19 (or the Legacy Virus) in their country. What I could also note is that Sarah Elago's Korean doppelganger Shin Hye Sun is a member of the charity organization known as Good Neighbor. I think Hye Sun herself must've donated some money in the fight against the Legacy Virus though her name wasn't listed.
What have a lot of teleserye stars been doing? Although, in due fairness, ABiaS-CBN's Angel Locsin Colmenares has been doing volunteer work but what can be said about the others? The woke stars of ABiaS-CBN (and maybe GMA-7) too are flooding comments over social media without proper basis. What's interesting is that Risa Hontivirus' doppelganger Liza Soberano is probably becoming a Risa 2.0. While they do have the right to demand transparency but they're probably taking things out-of-context. President Duterte has the habit of being outrageous. However, what he meant was to instruct law enforcers if their life is in danger then don't hesitate to defend yourselves. It's not an order to shoot quarantine violators because they're quarantine violators. It's all about shooting violators IF they place the lives of anybody in danger. If ABiaS-CBN thinks it can get its franchise renewed by twisting the facts in their own narrative - they would probably deserve more than losing their free air broadcast.
We can also consider how South Korean "fags" have been indirectly shaming Filipino "men" too. One reason why South Korea is overcoming the COVID-19 outbreak is the spirit of cooperation from all its citizens when it's presidential-parliamentary. The community doesn't have that irrational fear of policemen and soldiers like saying that surveillance equals police state policies. Instead, South Koreans have accepted partial surveillance as part of operations in this digital age. I would even dare say that the use of surveillance has made quarantine jobs easier to administer. Also, it will help monitor abuses done by military and police. How can they demand accountability if they even reject surveillance in the open areas? South Korea itself has proven a bigger example of accountability culture. Yet, some Filipino "men" still call those rather MUSCULAR, MILITARY TRAINED South Korean REAL men as "fags", huh? Those South Korean are far more manly than most Filipino "men" I meet today. A shame really that I've only met a few manly Filipinos who go against the fake Filipino masculinity frequently displayed online. South Korean men giving money to help fight COVID-19 is one of the manliest things that they can ever do.
At this point, I guess it's only fair that K-Dramas are becoming mainstream in the Philippines. The popularity of Itaewon Class is probably due to how relatable (and encouraging) it has become to Filipinos in their awakening. The petition to renew ABiaS-CBN is becoming more of a joke. May 2020 is coming soon and not even half a million signed! Sure, some ABiaS-CBN shows are now on Netflix Philippines but did any of them become part of the top ten? How many are watching the first 50 episodes of Ang Probinsyano on Netflix? I even remembered writing about how watching Kill It (which should be shown on Netflix PH than just streamed online) is making Ang Probinsyano even more unwatchable. At this point, those teleserye stars need to rethink their priorities one way or another.
