After Watching 'Kill It' - 'Ang Probinsyano' Can Further Go Deeper Into Oblivion

I decided to finish watching Kill It on KissAsian (though I'd rather have it legally available on Netflix). Now, I thought about bashing one of the most pointless teleseryes ever produced namely Ang Probinsyano. Probinsyano has been airing for 2015 and it's already 2020. Like really? I can't imagine shows running that long. Recently, it's Season 7 and if there's one little good thing the Legacy Virus brought in - it's the suspension of the "never-ending" boring misadventures of Cardo Dalisay (series version).

Personally, I find the whole casting of Coconuts Martin is just stupid. Maybe, I'm having too much of the late Fernando Poe Jr.'s hype or what? Come to think of it - I think Susan Roces isn't doing her husband a favor by appearing as a character in the said TV series. Martin even dares to all the fight for ABiaS-CBN to have its free frequency as the fight for every Filipino? Puh-lease! Though ANC and other ABiaS-CBN owned cable channels AND the station can still operate. Just that, are there still people watching it?

Just watching Kill It makes me see how its antihero Kim So Hyun really owns Cardo in just a matter of 12 episodes. I think the actor Jang Ki Yong really deserves the hold the rifle more than Coconuts ever will. I'm not saying it because I'm not "nationalistic". Rather, it's the hard truth about teleseryes - most of the cast members are probably better off reenacting the Oakwood Mutiny incident led by Antonio Trillanes IV. If anything, I'm actually in favor of casting Coconuts in any VIVA Films movie to play as Trillanes. Almost every time Coconuts moves - he just seems to be more suited to play as Trillanes than he is as Poe's character from the blockbuster hit. The Poe movies ended in two parts so why desecrate its memory with an utterly pointless 1,000 + episode series that goes nowhere?

Best part? Although So Hyun ends up dying tragically because he lived a life of violence - he died protecting others in the process. So Hyun's death gets hailed as cry-worthy. I wonder if the same thing can be said if ever Cardo's character will end up dying after 1,000+ pointless episodes? Maybe, a lot of "HaHa" faces will cover it instead of sad faces.

I remembered writing a post about K-Dramas lacking eye candy vs. teleseryes with all the eye candy. While it's true that I can't watch teleseryes even for eye candy (and that bed scene of Shaina Magdayao in The Worse Half can't convince me to stay. Sad truth needs to be told but teleseryes tend to prioritize eye candy over plot. While I tend to watch K-Drama for very stupid reasons (the girls) but a bad show with lots of eye candy is really worth trashing. I guess nobody can forget the whole eye-candy heavy fiasco known as Power Rangers MegaFART, right?

The addition of Shaina as Roxanne Opena is really a joke. It's hard to take seriously even if well... she can act. I really think her addition is probably just hopes of boosting the ratings of an already pointless TV series. Like, shouldn't the show just end already long ago? I wonder are they thinking Shaina being hot will just bail them out? That's a really bad use of eye candy since beauty is just a bonus. The scene with Roxanne giving Carlito a morning greeting is just bad fanservice if you ask me.

The same can't be said about Nana as Do Hyun Jin. Kill It is definitely not meant for children. Nana's character as a detective who got adopted and raised by the main antagonist Do Dae Hwan goes a long way. The directors aren't casting Nana for her good looks alone - she's got prowess! Hyun Jin looks harmless because of her slender physique but she does fight with more than hair-pulling and simple punches in teleseryes. Just seeing Hyun Jin throw two cups with extreme force and accuracy would make a man think twice before raping her. Hyun Jin nearly got sold into the human trafficking den but beats her way out before reinforcements back her up. Roxanne would probably just be sold to whoever wants to get her at a high price.

Pretty much, a random humorous rant to boost up the mood during the Legacy Virus pandemic!

  1. That fucking Teleserye along with the actors in the cast is also being utilized as a Mind Conditioning and Early Campaigning Tool to build-up DisGrace Poe's image for 2022 Presidential Elections. In short, that Teleserye along with the actors is being politicized for their hidden agenda.
