Vandalism Is NOT An Act Of Nationalism But Stupidity

I remembered some time ago when I wrote a post where I addressed the bad habit of using one's Filipino identity to justify one's blunder. Maybe the youth groups who did the vandalism are probably going to pull the nationalism card to get away with what they did. If they do then I can say that I'm going to LMAO because trying to use nationalism to justify public vandalism is STUPID. What's so amazing is that Panday Sining group (the cultural arm of Anakbayad) is "sorry" for vandalism but justifies it. Then it's really saying #SorryNotSorry. If you're not sorry then don't even bother saying you're sorry. It's just like making a mock apology for the sake of irritating the person. It's better to say, "I don't you an apology for what I did." But that's what they did, isn't it?

Vandalism is always vandalism. I don't care if it's government property or private property that was vandalized. What I care about is prosecuting vandalism one way or another. There's nothing to justify what the Anakbayad group Panday Sining did at the Lagusnilad Underpass. Vandalism is not an act of nationalism at all. It's just like how habitual tardiness, throwing your garbage just anywhere, disturbing public peace, talking loudly at the expense of others, overspending, and whatever bad habits are typical among many Filipinos are NOT acts of nationalism. Using the nationalism card to justify such actions is simply degrading any decent Filipino who doesn't adhere to such stupidity.

There's a limit of self-expression. Vandalism is self-expression gone wrong. You have the right ot self-expression but you must respect others first. You have the right to sing whatever song you want but there's a proper time to do it. You have the right to do art but you have no right to ruin another's artwork. Vandalism is ruining another person's artwork as well. It's the defacement of property. It's not even an act of nationalism. It's not even an act of being "genuinely Filipino" but simply an act of disrespect.

How can Filipinos expect to progress if they don't even want to follow simple guidelines? Do I need to emphasize it for the nth time that strict disciplinary measures are NOT anti-Filipino? Discipline won't make Filipinos "less Filipino". Instead, it will improve the image of the Filipino. Those Filipino commies who are doing what they do in the name of "nationalism" are just after attention and power. Their nationalism should be called as it is - it's just a sham!
