Would You Vote For Leni Loud Robredo As President If She Won The Nobel Peace Prize Instead Of Maria Ressa?

It's quite easy to rejoice over Maria Ressa's Nobel Peace Prize, right? Well, I thought that the insult can't be added that much to injury with Ressa - not especially after Stephen Sackur had grilled her on BBC HARDtalk . That's why I say don't even bother recalling Ressa's Nobel Peace Prize because of one thing - the Nobel Foundation is already has a lot of questionable choices in the past. The fact that Ressa was even allowed to travel to Norway to get her award is proof that the real issue is NOT between her and the current administration. Though, I was thinking that Vice President Leni Loud Robredo herself might've been the "better" choice. Just reading through Rigoberto Tiglao's site gave me the idea. If Ressa's award was to "slap" the Duterte Administration - it wouldn't be as strong unlike if Leni Loud won the Nobel Peace Prize instead. It doesn't look like Ressa is ever running for politics. It doesn't even...

There's Still More Worthy Awardees Than Just Maria Ressa For Award-Giving Western Liberals, Right?

Maria Ressa can keep getting all the awards she wants . Honestly, I don't care anymore especially if it's from the clueless Western media . Though one "award" that Ressa got that I did care about was the Sackur Punch Award - one that she got on BBC HARDtalk . Ressa's supporters can keep gloating about the awards she gets from arrogant Westerners - it's arrogant people giving awards to each other. I would say keep letting them give awards to each other, right? Now, this reminds me of how Ressa has shown some partisanism in regard to how Rappler operates. There are also questionable figures such as why I think Ressa needs to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics . The wedding of Jover Laurio a few years ago also had Ressa BLATANTLY admitting her side - she served as a principal sponsor for the writer of Pinoy Ako Blog which is just plain mediocrity. Come on, she's pretty substandard even if she's just another blogger. A nobody blogger can still be nobod...

Filipino Communists Can Just CRY HARD While Xiaomi Soars The Global Market

I just love to bring up the bizarre irony that Filipino communists LOVE communism but they hate Communist China . Now, reports of Xiaomi soaring the global market this 2021 are indeed real. Xiaomi, a phone from COMMUNIST CHINA defeated both Samsung and Apple (from democratic countries) all the while the CPP-NPA members are still stuck in the mountains. Jose Maria Sison is still in his exile in the pro-capitalist (and ironically democratic) Netherlands enjoying the fruits of which he hates. This really draws a wedge between contemporary Chinese communism and Filipino communists, right?  A timetable between the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) would be a good history lesson. Here are starking contrasts between the two parties: The CCP under the leadership of Mao Zedong took over China after the Second World War. Though Mao ended bankrupting China in the long run. In the 1970s, Deng Xiaoping went as far as go to the USA and announce that ...

When COMMUNIST China's Xiaomi Surges The Global Smartphone Market This 2021

SlashGear Years ago, I remembered how I wrote about how protectionism will never be as gorgeous as free trade . One thing I missed is how CNBC reports that  China's Xiaomi now overtakes Apple (and even Samsung) in the global market . This is a very interesting read about how Xiaomi may indeed be the new power phone.  Here's an excerpt from CNBC which makes me think about the future of Xiaomi in the free market with some red-tagging: GUANGZHOU, China — Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi was the second-largest smartphone maker in the second quarter, overtaking Apple, according to analyst firm Canalys. Xiaomi had a 17% share of global smartphone shipments, ahead of Apple’s 14% and behind Samsung’s 19%. “Xiaomi is growing its overseas business rapidly,” Canalys research manager Ben Stanton said in a press release, noting shipments increased 300% year on year in Latin America and 50% in Western Europ e . The Chinese smartphone maker posted year-on-year smartphone shipment growth of 83...

How The Commission On Human Rights Can Be Reformed Under The Parliamentary System

Well, Happy Human Rights Day, today, right? I was thinking about how the late Chito Gascon really wasn't the best for the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and neither were Etta Rosales and Liela Dilemma. It would be best to review the constitutional mandate of the CHR  first which are as follows: Investigate,  on its own  or on a complaint by any party,  all forms of human rights violations  involving civil and political rights; Adopt its operational guidelines and rules of procedure, and cite for contempt for violations thereof in accordance with the Rules of Court; Provide appropriate legal measures  for the protection of human rights of all persons  within the Philippines, as well as Filipinos residing abroad, and provide for preventive measures and legal aid services to the underprivileged whose human rights have been violated or need protection; Exercise visitorial powers over jails, prisons, or detention facilities; Establish a continuing ...

Presidentialism's Dance Floor Politics

I was thinking about the criticism that was done on President Rodrigo R. Duterte when he danced during his campaign. Some might say that the late Noynoy Aquino was better because he didn't dance. Now, Dilawans turned Pinklawans are now supporting Vice President Leni Loud Robredo as she entered the dance floor. Well, it wasn't the first time Leni Loud went dancing since she also became a cultural dance and even joined Zumba. There's even a video of Leni Loud dancing to Taylor Swift's song with the youth during her campaign. Bong Revilla danced budots after facing some charges bringing him back to the senate. Isko Moreno Domagoso having been an entertainer also danced for his presidential campaign. This is one question that the FAILED #OtsoDirestso needs to ask themselves - why the konting sayawan gets someone a seat of honor. The answer is simple - BLAME IT ON THE PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM. The problem of the presidential system is all about popularity-driven politics. It do...

ABiaS-CBN Reporter's Dirty Finger Shows Their Fake Decency

Here's a scenario where two wrongs never make a right, right? I'm amazed that, until now, people don't have a complete view of why the Marcos Years weren't the golden years. Here's a viral video where a reporter in ABiaS-CBN got "napikon" or "irritated" in English. Okay, I'm not condoning what the Bobong Marcos supporters are doing here. However, the ABiaS-CBN reporter showed the true colors of the network - FAKE DECENCY or PEKENG DISENTE to the public. Yup, fake decency is shown once more by a network that supposedly is the "paragon of virtue" of the Filipino. The best thing that the reporter could've done was to LEAVE. This reminds me of how Jim Paredes tried to appear to look decent when he isn't. Okay, if the DDS Youth did intrude their area then he has the right to get mad. However, Jim showed himself to be a BULLY  with how he responded to the DDS Youth. There were other ways to resolve it if they were intruding in h...
