Would You Vote For Leni Loud Robredo As President If She Won The Nobel Peace Prize Instead Of Maria Ressa?

It's quite easy to rejoice over Maria Ressa's Nobel Peace Prize, right? Well, I thought that the insult can't be added that much to injury with Ressa - not especially after Stephen Sackur had grilled her on BBC HARDtalk. That's why I say don't even bother recalling Ressa's Nobel Peace Prize because of one thing - the Nobel Foundation is already has a lot of questionable choices in the past. The fact that Ressa was even allowed to travel to Norway to get her award is proof that the real issue is NOT between her and the current administration. Though, I was thinking that Vice President Leni Loud Robredo herself might've been the "better" choice. Just reading through Rigoberto Tiglao's site gave me the idea. If Ressa's award was to "slap" the Duterte Administration - it wouldn't be as strong unlike if Leni Loud won the Nobel Peace Prize instead.

It doesn't look like Ressa is ever running for politics. It doesn't even look like she's qualified even if she was born a Filipino citizen. Ressa was adopted by her stepfather after her mother remarried to an American. Ressa grew up with an American accent which is very obvious in how she talks. According to the current laws - it doesn't seem Ressa is qualified if ever she's a double citizen. So the Nobel Peace Prize for Ressa isn't much of a victory for the Liberal Party of the Philippines. Though, they could've had a better chance if ever Leni Loud herself was the one who won the awards instead.

I could remember the satirical news of the Adobo Chronicles where the joke was Leni Loud was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. I didn't mind the joke much until Ressa got her prize. A strong slap? It's a light slap unlike if Leni Loud herself would be the one to travel to Oslo, Norway, and get the Nobel Peace Prize. Ressa already had her awards left and right. However, Ressa's credibility is still questionable now. Instead of focusing on Ressa - why not focus on Leni? Between the two Marias, Robredo herself would've been the better choice for a Nobel since she's running for president AND elections are near. Ressa already had a beating from Sackur. Leni Loud doesn't look like she will appear on BBC HARDtalk any time soon.

It would be interesting if Leni Loud herself got the Nobel Prize as the "brave woman who bravely fought a tyrant". It would be laughable if Leni Loud got nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for that category. It's almost the end of Duterte's term and only Liela Dilemma was arrested among the Liberal Party members. Until now, Ressa has been able to post bail and she's given permission by the Supreme Court to get her award. Rappler is still up and running. ABiaS-CBN is still up and running. President Rodrigo R. Duterte hasn't issued a single direct order to arrest Ressa - even letting her go and congratulated her after she was declared the winner. Also, take note that Leni Loud has been criticizing Duterte yet why hasn't Duterte even ordered a single ARREST ORDER for Leni Loud and her followers? Even many Pawokes on Twitter are still twitting their nonsense. Democracy is far from dead as they want to make it to be.

I could imagine if Leni Loud went to the awards ceremony instead of Ressa. It'd probably be funny how Leni Loud will make her acceptance speech. There will be lots of revelry on the Republic of Twitter with Leni Loud's award. It would make you ask the question if you'd vote for Leni Loud if ever she won the award? That would be a very interesting question to ask.
