Like It OR NOT, President Bobong Marcos Isn't Wrong To Mention Garbage As Why Floods Happen

Hate the president or love him -- I'm afraid that Bobong Marcos is right. Yes, I dislike the guy because he merely won because of POPULARITY POLITICS. 1987 Constipation is still da best in the world? Back on track -- Bobong hits SOME hard-hitting truth that people need to listen even if they don't like him

Further, Marcos also said that improper waste disposal has also resulted in deep flood waters during heavy rains.

“Nagkaproblema lang. Sana matuto naman ang tao. Huwag kayong nagtatapon ng basura dahil ‘yung basura, ‘yun ang nagbara doon sa mga pump natin kaya hindi kasing effective na puwede,” he added.

(We just had a problem. I hope people will learn. Please don’t simply throw your waste because these can clog our pumps, that’s why they are not that effective.)

In the aftermath of Super Typhoon Carina, several senators hit the implementation of flood control projects which they said were allocated hundreds of billions under the national budget yearly.

As always, it's always best to focus on the PERSON than the ARGUMENT. I don't care who says it whether it's Bobong or Atty. Leni Loud Robredo. Bobong may be right whereas Leni Loud is wrong and vice versa. That's why I support the Philippines should become a parliamentary system. Sure, Bobong is an idiot but he's NOT WRONG to talk about people throwing garbage just anywhere.

The picture above this paragraph is from the Manila Bay Incident on Roxas Boulevard last 2018. Isn't it a horrible picture? Whether pasaways want to admit it or not -- they too CONTRIBUTE to the Philippines' degradation. One of the biggest problems Filipinos have is the CULTURE OF LITTERING. That's why I often ask, "How do Filipinos expect to bring progress if they can't even follow simple guidelines?" Bobong may not be smart BUT he's right when he flats out and admits that improper waste disposal is a huge problem. A visit to Imperial Manila will show how people have POOR SANITATION. If they love to throw garbage anywhere then don't complain when it backfires.

It's common sense really when you think about it. Garbage is a huge obstruction. Why do you think toilets for public use often disallow stuff to be flushed into the toilet. Some even disallow toilet papers to be flushed -- opting to throw them into the garbage bin near it. The last cause of a toilet problem was flushing anything that should NEVER be flushed into it. The same is applicable when sewers are clogged with garbage. One doesn't need to be an engineer to understand that concept!

Unfortunately, some people use Penoy Prayd as an excuse to enjoy their blunder. That obsession with Penoy Prayd has done NOTHING to help Filipinos. However, they seem to take pleasure in doing so in the name of being a TUNAY NA PELEPENO. I even wonder if they love littering and say, "If you like to throw your garbage in the proper place -- get out of the Philippines!" Since when did throwing garbage in improper places make one a "tunay na Pelepeno"? NONE! If being Filipino meant throwing garbage in the wrong places -- I'd rather be branded a traitor. However, being Filipino is to serve the Philippines.

Hate Bobong or love him -- he's got a point about garbage! Sure, Bobong needs to prioritize economic cha-cha ASAP. The Philippines can learn from other countries on proper waste disposal and the like. Bobong can invite environmentalists from nearby ASEAN countries like Singapore and Malaysia. Hopefully, Bobong will prioritize badly needed constitutional amendments. It's because that's where the money comes in to fund government anti-flood projects.
