#NeverAgain To Disinformation Against The Late Fidel V. Ramos' Call For Constitutional Reform

It's a sad day as former president Fidel V. Ramos, died of COVID-19, at the age of 94. There's so much controversy about Ramos' legacy. Some say he was a trapo. Others called him "boy benta". Back then,  remembered the demonization done by Ramos. The charter change was viewed as a "bad thing". An editorial back when I was in elementary had a caricature of Ramos and the shadow said, "MARTIAL LAW". The fear of another Marcos-style dictatorship under Ramos was widespread. Misinformation is so common. Sadly, history is treated as CHISMIS such as how people tend to use pasaway thought leaders as their sources. These can be people like Jover Laurio of Pignoy Ako Blog , Gerry Cacanindin, Illogical Kinko, Frank Baklaan IV, Agot Isidro, Cynthia Patay, Jim Paredes, Leah Navarro, Toady Casino, Neri Colmenares, etc. to get their sources.  I guess people really, REALLY could still remember how the late Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. changed the constitution overni...

Will Coconuts Martin Get The Nobel Fish Fries?

I don't know if I should be laughing (or not) that Ang Probinsyano aka The Misadventures of Cardo Dalisay is coming to an end. Now, it turns out that Coconuts Martin is about to get a new misadventure based on Batang Quiapo (Youth of Quiapo) where the late Fernando Poe Jr. acts as a pickpocket trying to go straight. Ang Probinsyano had 1,600+ episodes which makes me even wonder if anybody is willing to rewatch it from EPISODE ONE up to the upcoming final episode. This also reminds me of how Antonio Trillanes IV expresses he's a fan of the said show . This reminds me I even wrote an article about if Trillanes would actually get the Nobel Peace Prize . It's because Maria Ressa's Nobel Peace Prize award is totally laughable. I wouldn't be surprised if Ressa even wins a Nobel Prize in Physics this year. Then again, the Nobel Foundation already lost its prestige some ago so that's why I say Ressa can keep her prize . I'll just be "WALA AKONG PAKI!" or...

Pinklawans Dare To Criticize President Bongbong Marcos' First SONA BUT Refuse To Go Parliamentary?

It's amazing how social media can be so FULL OF STUPID PEOPLE, right? What's the use of the Pinklawans ranting when their complaints are nothing more than aired opinions? That's why I decided to write about how the Kakampink Opposition can truly hold the Uniteam Government in a PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM . It's good that the Kakampinks are pointing out a few things or it's good to criticize a SONA. However, the presidential system lacks that mechanism - something the Pinklawans' could've had BUT don't have right now. It's because the Philippines is still under a PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM. Image by Mark Haughton The prime minister makes a speech with the Opposition PRESENT. Can you imagine that if the SONA today had Atty. Leni Loud Robredo and her fellow Angat Buhay members sitting on the RIGHT BENCH? If we were a parliamentary system right now - think that June 30, 2022, would be the time when Bobong Marcos and Sara Duterte-Carpio will be installed as the lead...

Why I Don't Regret Watching Legal K-Dramas Over The Misadventures Of Cardo Dalisay During The Legacy Virus Pandemic

It's really official (?) that Ang Probinsyano (or better called as The Misadventures of Cardo Dalisay ) is ending in three weeks . It's been two former presidents, one deceased and the other still with us, and now it's the term of Bobong Marcos. The series exceeded the 1990s overly long teleserye Mara Clara which was during the term of Fidel Valdez Ramos. I was thinking about the time it was 2015. I was still more into Japanese entertainment but grew critical of the Super Sentai franchise. It's no secret that Power Rangers Ninja Steel is THAT BERATED then again so was its source material Shuriken Sentai Ninninger . I just ignored Ang Probinsyano like any other teleserye. I didn't even bother to watch The Better (Worse) Half even for Shaina Magdayao whose beauty I soo admire. COVID-19 aka the Legacy Virus finally struck hard in 2020. Many adjustments had to be made such as running things mostly from home. I remembered how I felt discouraged about Japanese entertain...

The Final Three Weeks Of The Misadventures Of Cardo Dalisay

It looks like it's official since this one came from ABiaS-CBN and the photo above is from the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) . It would be interesting that Coconuts Martin himself had announced the finale of the MOST POINTLESS TELESERYE EVER . I wonder why's the "most hyped" TV series now coming to an end? I feel that maybe ABiaS-CBN is running out of troll farms or the troll farms are focused on making 2 Good 2 Be True number one on Netflix but nine other shows aren't teleseryes. I'm still thinking about how PEP even dares to say that Vincenzo has nothing on Ang Probinsyano . Yet. it's quite the opposite actually . Vincenzo's run gives it better replay value. I'd like to ask are you even willing to rewatch all 1,600+ episodes of Ang Probinsyano from start to end?! Besides, the death of Susan Roces could've been an indicator that the show needed to end YEARS AGO . The whole show is what I'd call spun itself in circles for several...

Marcos Sr. A Neoliberal Pro-FDI President? That's FAKE NEWS!

The rise of President Bobong Marcos was something that I feared would happen. Personally, I defended his win for the vice presidency during the Duterte Administration. I felt Bobong should've run as senator last 2019 instead of ASSuming he would win the protest. It's funny (REALLY) that three times that Bobong lost and the same Supreme Court of the Philippines that cleared Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (this event may have worsened the late Noynoy Aquino's health) also declared Bobong's loss. If anything, Bobong won as president all thanks to Da Best Konstitusyon in Da World according to Hilarious Davide. With Bobong as president - I guess it's time (AGAIN) for naysayers to use the Marcoses as a boogeyman. Never mind that Bobong became president by VOTES BASED ON THE 1987 CONSTITUTION OF THE PHILIPPINES. What's next? File an electoral protest for Atty. Leni Loud Robredo who could've been leading the opposition now IF the Philippines were parliamentary . Now, it...

My Early Thoughts On "Flower Of Evil" LICENSED Philippine Localization

Personally, I have nothing against localizations IF they do a good job. However, I remembered writing about how teleserye versions of imported shows are so bootleg . I've watched South Korean, Taiwanese, and Chinese remakes of Japanese shows. Some of them are live adaptations of Anime or Manga. Either way, they knew how to deal with how to adapt and make a good adaptation or localization. Though, I prefer the term localization because it's been taken from ONE COUNTRY TO ANOTHER. A recent localization of a hit South Korean drama Flower of Evil had me wondering if it's time for a bashfest. Yes, you know how much I love to bash those teleseryes, right? I didn't do a critique of GMA-7's remake of Full House but I'll admit Heart Evangelista (Anne Marie Ongpauco-Escudero) sure ruined the show that much! The show is currently on Kapamilya Channel   which is a result of  ABiaS-CBN's incredibly massive failure of the mind . The other means to watch it is through VIU ...

Why A Parliamentary System, Not A Presidential System, Would Fare Better In Discussing Economic Policies

What's so sad is that there are comments against President Bobong Marcos' remarks about inflation. This is the big problem when we're stuck in the PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM - kanya kanya ang presscon! Former vice president Leni Loud Robredo is now the head of the Angat Buhay NON-GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION (NGO). It made me think about how the Liberal Party of the Philippines did give criticisms on former president Rodrigo R. Duterte's economic policies. However, it wouldn't be such a problem IF we were under a PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM.  The government and the opposition have their formalized roles. The left bench is colored red and the right bench is colored yellow. If we were in a parliamentary system right now (or back then) - the Liberal Party could've easily and directly criticized the incumbent government. If the last Parliament had Duterte as prime minister then Mar Roxas would've been the opposition leader. Roxas wouldn't need to run for senator last 2019 in...

Rappler's Incredibly Massive Failure Of The Mind

This is really something when I heard about how Rappler is yet again in danger of complete shutdown. I'm amazed at how Maria Ressa remains arrogant or how Rappler contradicts itself. I wanted to write another article and ran out of ideas. I feel that like ABiaS-CBN - Rappler has now entered into a whole new level of an INCREDIBLY MASSIVE FAILURE OF THE MIND . Some can say that Rigoberto Tiglao of The Manila Times is a purveyor of fake news. However, I still feel The Manila Times may be more reliable and Tiglao makes sense (at times) even if he's practically clueless about economics and foreign direct investment (FDI).  An opinion piece that I wrote was about  Ressa's appeal to clueless Western media . Unfortunately for her, Stephen Sackur of BBC HARDtalk didn't believe her and blasted her several times . I was laughing at how Ressa made a fool out of herself as Sackur further interrogated her. Did Ressa really believe that she could succeed where her two other frie...
