No Excuse For Local Networks NOT To Change The Way Teleseryes Are Carried Out

I was thinking about when I decided to watch The Haunted by ABiaS-CBN. Surprisingly, it's a teleserye from 2019 that lasted for only TEN episodes and wrapped up its plot when needed. Meanwhile, you've got a lost of pointless teleseryes. Who can remember that Mara Clara in the 1990s had a total of 1,156 episodes or Mula Sa Puso had 500+ episodes? Besides, isn't Ang Probinsyano currently ABiaS-CBN's most pointless teleserye ever? It should be very laughable when you consider that the misadventures of Cardo Dalisay (Coconuts Martin's version) are getting nowhere. That's why I even wrote that Korean crime dramas beat the 1,100+ episodes of the said show. It may be even more than time to END Ang Probinsyano because of it getting stale. This makes you wonder why ABiaS-CBN (and also GMA-7) REFUSE to change the format of teleseryes.

I was thinking about making teleseryes based on popular imported drama end up as inferior localizations. It's not because they're Pinoy versions - it's because of how much UNNECESSARY FILLERS get into them more often than not. Both ABiaS-CBN and GMA-7 have been airing several imported shows whether it's the Taiwanovela craze, Chinovelas followed, and the current Hallyu craze with Koreanovelas. I just remembered how I used to watch 100% Senorita on GMA-7 (back when I was in college), it ended, and Marina from ABiaS-CBN (as well as other related shows) still kept going ON AND ON until the ratings dropped. The same went for Mulawin on GMA-7. Also, who can ever forget the idiotic Zaido: Ang Pulis Pangkalawakan by GMA-7? GMA-7 was airing other shows like Kamen Rider Kabuto - something they could've tried to see how a Toku drama was written. Instead, they all went for the daily format resulting in a lack of quality check.

The local TV networks have all the imported shows to learn from. They're even forced to rely on imported shows to keep them going because their teleseryes just SUCK big time. Even Suzette Doctolero of GMA-7 thinks that teleseryes are left behind. They had more than a decade to see how those imported shows work and why they work. Instead, they stuck with their old formulas rather than learn from the imported shows that they kept relying on for ratings. They could've opted to show teleseryes WEEKLY for a change. Parasite Island and The Haunted by ABiaS-CBN were shown only once a week on SUNDAYS. The sitcom Tsuperhero by GMA-7 was only shown once a week too. The networks have the ability to do that but why do they insist in the DAILY teleserye where quality can't be checked? If they just stopped the DAILY teleserye then quality may start to improve overtime. Instead, they decided to still stick to that format even after they imported telenovelas from abroad.

So really, what's the excuse for the local networks NOT to really change the way teleseryes are carried out? I guess they still want to take pride in their mediocrity, right?
