Just Stop Politicizing The COVID-19 Outbreak And #WeHealAsOne, Okay?

I really am thankful that President Rodrigo R. Duterte had RIGHTFULLY FIRED Manuel-nalito Lunatic from the Philippine Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC). The accusations against Vice President Leni Loud Robredo were pretty much unsubstantiated. If she was really guilty then he needed to present proof. Clearly Lunatic didn't think things through because Leni Loud shouldn't even be investigated without proper proof. I can't be certain what Leni Loud's motives with Angat Buhay are whether she's sincere or not. The only beef I have right now is that she shouldn't put her name in the tarpaulins while the name Angat Buhay can still be up there. Leni Loud should follow simple guidelines such as letting police and the military assist her whenever applicable. Duterte may have fired Leni Loud from the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) but he probably did the right thing in protecting Leni Loud. Also, it's good that Vico Sotto finally gave in to the need for a quarantine pass - though I wish media will stop sensationalizing him so he can do his job just right!

The problem isn't on which side of the political party are you. Right now, I consider myself to be no longer a Diehard Duterte Supporter ever since the "Stupid G--" remark. I also think President Duterte should stop coddling China as a political entity if he wants to get closer to the Chinese people. I mean, China isn't even kind to its own people. However, I do agree that Duterte's call for quarantine is the right thing to do. Some people I know dislike Duterte but agree with him when he's right. I may not like Leni Loud but I'm just thankful she hasn't put herself into any mortal danger. Also, Duterte is right in saying that Leni Loud soliciting funds weren't a violation at all. Consider it that when it comes to donations - aren't private sectors where you get them? Some private sectors are actually giving whatever money and goods they can to help. Some restaurant owners have closed down so they can cook for frontliners. These restaurants are asking for donations because they need the money to buy ingredients. Angat Buhay is NO DIFFERENT when it comes to its need for funds to buy materials to support its relief cause.

Chel Diokno's problem is not him giving criticism to Duterte. The problem is that Diokno himself should analyze the COVID-19 crisis beyond constitutional and non-constitutional. A recent article in Get Real Philippines suggests that Diokno may be endangering the public. What Diokno himself could've done is to consult some quarantine specialists before opening his big mouth. Duterte may be wrong to insult Diokno but did the latter think before he spoke? Diokno could've considered doing research first. Does Diokno even know that pandemics usually involved police and military to help keep peace and order? If Diokno knew then he could've suggested stuff like how to deal with abusive policemen and military rather than go against their involvement. What Diokno needs is to put the political rivalry of the opposition with the administration aside. He should be focusing on giving alternatives to help the COVID-19 relief operations than rant without thinking. Diokno could've researched on South Korea and Singapore and how they're succeeding before opening his mouth.

Ligo Sardines is on a crash course, right? The problem isn't that they don't like President Duterte but a rather careless rant. If they didn't want to give money to government operations then they could go for non-government organizations or NGOs. Some NGOs are also doing frontline work. However, the unnecessary comment and usage of Duterte's picture were just wrong. What Ligo did would be very bad for its own marketing. Why can't they be just like how other food-related industries whether manufacturers or restaurants are in the crisis? Some restaurants are going full frontline helping everyone regardless of political color. If they're thinking of being like Yoly Ong and Leah Navarro then they can consider closing down permanently due to a lack of sales.

Not to mention, Pignoy Ako Blog and other similar platforms are still politicizing disasters. Right now, all Pignoy Ako Blog does is demonize Duterte AGAIN as if he's doing nothing when he is doing something. That's why I'm wondering does she even receive money from Leni Loud if Kris Aquino isn't the only one boosting Pignoy Ako Blog's Facebook page? I can't be sure if Leni Loud pays Laurio but it seems to be. Try to notice how often Jover tries to praise Leni Loud excessively and downplays Duterte. It's possible that Jover is simply exercising a one-sided view without Leni Loud paying her. However, the leaked out screenshots of Jover getting boosts from Kris may make one ask if she does get money from Leni Loud. Regardless, Pignoy Ako Blog could still afford to politicize the Coronavirus? They must always ANALYZE before they CRITICIZE. Then again how high is their basic reading comprehension? Did they even bother to take in context what Duterte meant to shoot them dead or did they not? Hmmm quite interestingly that Pignoy Ako Blog is somehow not yet commenting on Lunatic's dismissal of PACC. Is Laurio or any of her co-writers just ignoring it on purpose? At least, Rappler was honest enough to report it. Then again Pignoy Ako Blog will probably just say Duterte did it to "save face".

The crisis affects everyone. Don't be like Yoly Ong and Leah Navarro who decided to let their feelings get in the way. Yoly suggested that DDS shouldn't be helped in one of her tweets before. Really? How would she like it if DDS relief teams will not help Dilawans? Did she even forget that Duterte went to Camarines Sur (Leni Loud's hometown) when the flood happened? If the Philippines expects to recover then it must stop with its crab mentality. South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore got their act together and are doing great. The Philippines too can be like them only if Filipinos will choose to emulate those countries I just mentioned.
