What's The Use Of Rejoicing Over Kathryn Bernardo Getting A Wax Figure At Madame Taussads IF It Doesn't Create Jobs For Filipinos?!

ABS-CBN

It's time for another update, right? After running out of ideas, I realized that Kathryn Bernardo from ABiaS-CBN will be getting her own Madame Tussauds wax figure in 2026. It's time to write another ABiaS-CBN post, given its die-hard defenders would be DANCING AGAIN. However, I need to highlight the hypocrisy of rejoicing over Filipinos getting wax figures at Madame Tussauds WHILE adhering to the Filipino First Policy.

Kathryn is the fourth Filipino personality to be immortalised by Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, following Pia Wurtzbach, Manny Pacquiao, and Anne Curtis. “We value our Filipino market and aim to provide them with an unforgettable experience at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong,” said Wade Chang, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. “Kathryn is an inspiring artist who has worked tirelessly to achieve her success. At Madame Tussauds, we honor excellence with a global impact, making Kathryn the perfect choice for our next Filipino wax figure.”

I don't like ABiaS-CBN, but I'm going to congratulate Kathryn. It seems the ABiaS-CBN has been "growing up" since #AnniversSARA. It can bring a sense of pride to Filipinos whenever their celebrities get recognized abroad. It's so easy to cry, "IYAK NA KAYO MGA DDS! ABS-CBN RULEZ." Right now, I choose to remain quiet on Rodrigo Duterte's arrest - choosing to let the International Clown Court run its course

However, it's best to ask if Kathryn's incoming wax museum image will BRING JOBS TO FILIPINOS. The same goes for Rappler's awards WILL NOT CREATE JOBS FOR FILIPINOS. ABiaS-CBN celebrities can get international awards for all I care. However, all these awards will MEAN NOTHING if Filipinos will not get LOCALLY MADE JOBS for Filipinos -- something that will require more foreign investments than just Filipino-owned businesses!
