"Buntis Faib Legacy" Getting Edited From 90 Episodes To MERELY 20 Episodes For Japan Ought To Tell Ya Something's Wrong With The Pacing
I don't even know why I bothered watching that ABOMINATION called Voltes V Legacy -- which some joke is called Buntis Faib Legacy. I was surprised to hear that Japan would dub it. However, this detail from Orends Range made me LMAO to huge levels:
The official Japanese Voltes V Legacy website announced that the series will finally make its Japanese TV premiere on TOKYO MX this November, but there's a catch.
The series, which originally ran for 90 episodes in the Philippines, will have a special Japanese TV cut called "Ultra Electromagnetic Respect TV Version" in which the show's 90 episodes gets boldly re-edited into 20 episodes.
Yes, you read it right. Buntis Faib Legacy isn't going to get all of its 90 episodes aired. Instead, Toei would be editing them to become JUST 20 episodes! The show has been slowed down to super painful levels. Watching the love triangle (or square, because Eva lusts after Steve) makes me raise Chojin Sentai Jetman's love polygon. I may have my disappointments since the original Anime never had Steve (Kenichi) and Jamie (Megumi) have any shipping. Instead, Megumi was often ship-teased with Mark (Ippei). I realized that a rewatch was going to be DOWNRIGHT PAINFUL!
Yes, it means 70 episodes of WORTHLESS dragging. The first week doesn't even do a good job with expanding character development. Instead, it's useless FILLER AFTER FILLER before the first battle even begins! Golion may have had some gradual build-up. However, Golion gave action after action ane ended with a good pace. After the PAINFULLY SLOW introductory arc with more fillers than plot -- it's the standard that kept it going. Even every Beast Fighter battle becomes PAINFULLY SLOW. In short, I'd prefer rewatchng Power Rangers Beast Morphers (which I pointed out had too many throwbacks to previous seasons) over this EXTREMELY GRINDING series.
I even wrote a fun post saying why Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger is better than Buntis Faib Legacy. I had some issues with how the second half focused more on the Jesters. King-Ohger barely had MOTW like how Kamen Rider series had been since the Heisei to Reiwa era. However, every episode was full of action to develop the plot. The second half focused on the Five Jesters and Dugded's ultimate plan. I'd rewatch King-Ohger over Buntis Fabi Legacy. Both shows came out on the same year. Hopefully, Toei wouldn't allow GMA-7 to have Buntis Faib Legacy's cast voice over King-Ohger.
Overall, Buntis Faib Legacy is an ultra-electromagnetic disappointment. I avoided Zaido: Pulis Pangkalokan back in college. Zaido was a complete mess. GMA-7 had no excuse especially if they were airing one Kamen Rider series after the other. Most of the Kamen Rider series starting with Kamen Rider Kuuga feel more like a telenovela. Why didn't GMA-7 try to follow that format? Refusal to evolve?
