We just need to consider this screenshot from the Philippine Star where you have people in Baranggay Rosario in Pasig City failing to do SOCIAL DISTANCING. Yes, it's been recommended already by healthcare experts to avoid close contact because of the contagious levels of the COVID-19 disease. Right now, I just pray that Mayor Vico Sotto himself is actually doing something though this seems to be a bigger fault on the part of the PEOPLE, right? Guidelines have been issued since the COVID-19 quarantine measure to PROTECT the population.
Maybe I need to give a good example. China was where the COVID-19 outbreak happened. Do you know now that according to CNN Philippines - Italy now surpasses China in terms of COVID-19 casualties? Sun Shuopeng, the vice president of the Chinese Red cross also mentioned this, "Here in Milan, the hardest-hit area by Covid-19, there isn't a very strict lockdown: public transportation is still working and people are still moving around, you're still having dinners and parties in the hotels and you're not wearing masks. We need every citizen to be involved in the fight of Covid-19 and follow this policy." Yup, you read that. The hardest-hit area by the COVID-19 happens because there isn't a strict lockdown. You can see the problem that people were still not practicing social distancing during the time of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Following guidelines goes a long way. You can't expect progress if you can't follow even simple guidelines. It's like traffic rules are set so you don't get run over by a car and that cars don't bump into each other. Unfortunately, you do still have the problem of people who would rather kill themselves if they have to follow rules. Now a good question to ask if these people would rather get infected by COVID-19 than to follow simple guidelines meant to help control the epidemic. I don't have to be a doctor to raise that issue or to understand what doctors are telling us to do in these times of crisis. I just need basic HIGH SCHOOL science to know why I should stay home during an epidemic.
Just a simple thought in this ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
