It's like no matter how much I don't like Noynoy Aquino III -- he was actually working on amending economic policies though he could have considered totally removing 60/40. Now, here's that arrogant prick Frank Baraan IV who makes it sound SO EASY to clean up years or even decades worth of mess. He even speaks like as if the Yellows' "chosen one" Noynoy made no such mistakes. Those idiots of Mabayan Partylist want to postpone the LONG OVERDUE cleaning of Manila Bay . Didn't the incident at Roxas Boulevard mean anything? The whole spewing garbage incident during the typhoon showed how LONG OVERDUE it was to clean Manila Bay for more than 30 years. So why wasn't it cleaned up or at least maintained from the time of the late Corazon C. Aquino up to the time of Noynoy Aquino? Why did we have to wait until President Rodrigo R. There are many factors why children who are becoming criminals are increasing. You can have irresponsible lazy parents or dysfunctional parents. You can have parents who would use their children to beg or steal money so either one parent or worse even both can get a drink and gamble the money. Then I would also use the problem of OFW families. I remembered how some crazy 4Ps-obsessed old man said that the policy he so loves is about making sure nobody gets left behind . Well, here's the problem -- a conditional cash transfer policy isn't meant to be given to people who refuse to comply with the requirements. It's also not the government's responsibility to directly provide for your basic needs. Sure, the government is obligated to uphold economic policies that will create jobs (such as removing excessive restrictions on foreign investors) but not to provide for your needs. Is it me or is the Philippines just too fond of band aid solutions and messed up priorities? The current news is that the House of Representatives has currently approved the current measurement. Though there has to be some considerations on how to treat minors who are guilty of crime or used by adults in the process. Henry Sy Sr.'s death indeed has brought in some controversial statements from activists and anti-capitalists themselves, right? Having the right equipment DOES matter to run an effective system. Hypothetically and theoretically voting machines may help make elections faster just like the use of electronic machines for university entrance exams. However, the problem lies on the reliability and security check of the PCOS machines from Smartmatic which should be renamed as Dumbmatic. Not to mention, the reliability of the Dumbmatic machines is questionable at best.  So why would I discourage Dumbmatic machines? Well Henry Sy Sr. finally died in his sleep at the age of 94. Then it had me thinking of writing something about Sy's success from rags to riches to finally holding the SM businesses. Did you know that SM was called that after Shoe Mart because shoes got him to where he is? I remembered when I decided to write about how it's all about BOTH people and systems  that make a good government go round. It's not just the quality of the people but also the quality of the system. I would agree that a parliament won't work if people are all incompetent yet the presidential system hardly works because it really encourages popularity over competency. I remembered how often I wrote about the really bad dubs of K-Drama -- heck, I didn't even want to watch that super awful dub of either Secretary Kim or While You Were Sleeping .
