Ban #SMARTMATIC Errr Dumbmatic From Philippine Elections Forever

Having the right equipment DOES matter to run an effective system. Hypothetically and theoretically voting machines may help make elections faster just like the use of electronic machines for university entrance exams. However, the problem lies on the reliability and security check of the PCOS machines from Smartmatic which should be renamed as Dumbmatic. Not to mention, the reliability of the Dumbmatic machines is questionable at best.

So why would I discourage Dumbmatic machines? It reminded me how LOOOOONG it took for the voting procedures to be finished. It's a frustrating experience to line up from morning up to late morning or even until noon. One of the reasons that happened was that the machines EASILY overheated and elections were suspended for what? An hour or two? Don't tell me that an hour or two isn't a lot of time because it's a lot of time! It may be election day but some people may have had other appointments such as medical or dental -- so why waste their PRECIOUS TIME?

So why did the COMELEC even pick up Dumbmatic to start with when said company's current main headquarters are in London? They could have picked voting machines from either South Korea or Japan. But no, they had to pick Dumbmatic instead of get voting machines from highly progressive companies. The irony also is that Dumbmatic is a Venezuelan company that hypocritically stays in London -- a country that benefits from free trade while Venezuela's economy crumbles because of economic protectionism.
