Martin Romualdez's And Mar Roxas' Epal Tactics Are Results Of The 1987 CONSTIPATION

I've been running out of ideas writing this blog. I'd like to remind people that blogging is just a sideline. I was reading through the DETERIORATING QUALITY of articles in Get Real Philippines (GRP) - especially Benign0's. Benign0's most recent article compares House Speaker Martin Romualdez to Mar Roxas. Martin actually has a college degree in contrast to President Bobong Marcos. Martin is also a lawyer (he graduated from the University of the Philippines) like Atty. Leni Loud Robredo and Senator Kikoman Pangilinan. Mar is an economics graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Both men sound very brilliant, RIGHT? Unfortunately, both men have high intelligence but are making clowns out of themselves.

To quote Benign0, he writes these stuff down in GRP:

It seems Romualdez would rather spend his tax-funded time campaigning for the next election than doing his job crafting laws in his office. Then again stunts like this usually work, to be fair — because Filipinos are always up for a bit of free food scraps tossed at them by one or the other two-bit politician.

One does not need to look too far back to find an example of this sort of dishonest behaviour in former senator and failed presidential wannabe Mar Roxas who spent most of his time in the various offices he occupied performing before the cameras.

Behaviour like this is usually most evident in the lead up to an election. The timing of Romualdez’s quaint stunts is astounding in that it has only been a bit more than a year since the last national elections in 2022 and he is already on the campaign trail wasting people’s already-small attention spans. Yet it is unlikely that people like Romualdez, in their normal daily lives, ever give their next meal a second thought. Indeed, most people like him expect a proper breakfast spread laid out for them by their servants every morning as a matter of normal routine among other things.

Benign0 is still opposed to the solutions such as opening the Philippines to more FDI and charter change. I guess it's because he thinks that Filipinos are "hopeless people" - as if he's not a Filipino. Benign0 still opposes charter change since he thinks Filipinos need to straighten up first. The concept is very obsolete. Ironically, Benign0 himself is living in Australia - a country that benefits from two things that he doesn't want in the Philippines. CoRRECT Philippines is very right to say this about the guy and Orion Perez Dumdum got it right:

The guy needs to do some research (which, by the way he never does which is why he always loses to me in debates during the few chances that I have the time to engage that slacker), but of course, he is lazy to read. He hasn’t even read Lee Kuan Yew’s “From Third World to First” which he bought, and if he read it, he would have realized that the cornerstone of Singapore’s rapid rise to First World status was its openness to foreign direct investments.

The same degree of epalness now hits both camps. One can argue that the late Noynoy Aquino wasn't epal. The way Mar and Leni Loud did their campaigns proves that presidential candidates do encourage epal behavior. The behavior that Martin is doing now is probably for the vote. Didn't Mar and Leni Loud do the same thing? Leni Loud's campaigns last 2022 prove why the presidential system sucks. Should I also mention Sarah Jane I. Elgago's stunt at the Nepa Q Mart too?

How the epalness would be discouraged under a parliamentary system

Here's a video of a baldy man some mistook as the late Nobita Aquino. It's actually Surendra Furtado from India. It's almost like India has an automatic anti-epal trap as Surendra narrowly escaped drowning. The presidential system is so concerned with personalities OVER parties. One can brag to be a Dilawan or DDS but their focus isn't the Liberal Party of the Philippines or PDP-Laban. For Marcostards, the real focus wouldn't be Uniteam but Bobong. Candidates are encouraged to be epal because it's all about personalities. When the Dilawans were chanting for Leni Loud - they were more focused on Leni Loud than the Liberal Party. The same is true for EVERY candidate.

If the focus was parties - people will focus on the parties. They won't focus much on Liela Dilemma, Antonio Trillanes IV, Sarah Duterte-Carpio, Leni Loud, Bobong, etc. Instead, the focus would be parties as a whole.

Now think if the focus was UNITEAM and the Liberal Party. The focus wouldn't be on Bobong or Leni Loud. Instead, it would be on the party as a whole. Can you imagine how the Parliament would react if legislators Martin and Mar were being epal? Martin and Mar may face the threat of a vote of no confidence. It may not always work but the threat of it is rather scary. Would you dare to misbehave if your parents spank you for misbehavior (and many times, a warning is often issued beforehand so parents reduce the chances of needing to spank their wayward child) or if your parents are so lenient? The vote of no confidence works in a very similar way. It's a threat mechanism, that would help keep the Government and the Opposition in check.

Benign0 would still say that it'll never work. Fools like Jason VOORHEES will always keep the DNA argument. The big problem that Filipinos face is the SYSTEM itself - not their DNA.
