Real Talk: Social Media Outrage Will NEVER Hold Panggulong Bobong Marcos Accountable On His Speech Only Nothing Achieved Compared To Weekly Questioning
It's already the second year since Panggulong Bobong Marcos proved one thing - PRESIDENTIALISM SUCKS! It's indeed the irony that Kakampinks against constitutional reform must face - they're so against charter change to parliamentary while admiring lead figures like the late Lee Kuan Yew and Mahathir Mohamad. I keep telling them, "Kaya't dapat na tayo mag parliamentary!" Their usual response is that the Empire of Marcos was a "parliamentary system". The "empirical evidence" was the existence of Cesar Virata who Lee Kuan Yew called a NON-STARTER AND NO LEADER. The late Ninoy Aquino even RIGHTFULLY narrated how the Philippines' charter change went from America to Britain to France. Even worse, their "best bet" is that they hope to achieve something through their virtue signals aka SOCIAL MEDIA OUTRAGE. The likes of Illogical Kinko, Gerry Cacanindin, Jover Laurio, etc. have only done more social media outrage than give proper solutions. It's not like the late Carlos Celdran who was anti-Duterte BUT he gave proper solutions. If only more Kakampinks listened to Celdran and joined their fellow Kakampinks who are for constitutional reform.
Sure, the Yellows now Kakampinks have done social media outrage. There's a lot of their outrage on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc. With the SONA today - it's expected that the social media pages of Philippine news media are going to be flooded with comments. There are going to be comments like, "UNITY PA MORE!", "NASAANG ANG PHP 20 NA BIGAS?!", "NASAAN ANG TALLANO GOLD?", "HOY SAAN NA YUNG PLEDGES MO?" Even worse, you could see that people tend to assume that just because you didn't vote for Atty. Leni Loud Robredo or Bobong - you must've voted for the other. I wouldn't be surprised if people will think that I'm now supporting Leni Loud because I'm bashing Bobong. How can that hold Bobong accountable anyway? It's not like a legislative debate in the parliamentary system.
Things would be way too different if it was a parliamentary system. It's because if Uniteam was the government then the Kakampinks become the opposition. As mentioned in many previous posts, let's assume that Leni Loud is the best best for the Kakampink opposition. Leni Loud herself wouldn't be an ordinary civilian if we were in parliament. Instead, the Kakampinks would still HAVE A VOICE IN A REAL PARLIAMENTARY GOVERNMENT. One question that anti-reform Kakampinks need to answer is, "Where were the debates between Macoy and Ninoy? None!" The empire of the late Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. was a parliament IN NAME ONLY. How could Emperor Ferdinand be president and prime minister at the same time or declare ABSOLUTE IMMUNITY? As Ninoy pointed out, a real parliamentary could yank out an inutil prime minister by a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE.
Just think of it if Bobong had to speak IN FRONT OF LIVE CAMERAS EVERY WEEK. Not just him but his entire Uniteam government and the Kakampink opposition. Just think if Leni Loud herself raised the questions as the OPPOSITION LEADER. Leni Loud's job will be to question Bobong and hold him accountable EVERY WEEK. Can you imagine what Bobong would respond if he had to deal with questioning every week? It would be very embarrassing to screw up in front of live television. People who claim that the Empire of Marcos was a real parliament need to answer, "Did Emperor Marcos himself get questioned every week? Why could he dissolve parliament but parliament can't dissolve him?" If they can then they deserve to get the Marcos Wealth tax-free. If not, they're just spreading disinformation.
Unlike social media outrage, Bobong is required by the Parliamentary Republic of the Philippines' constitution to ANSWER the Opposition. Leni Loud herself is required by this new constitution to question Bobong and hold him accountable. A parliamentary constitution would even make it harder to become the prime minister. Being a prime minister requires one to be an outstanding Member of the Parliament before one can even hold the position. If Bobong could prove himself until he becomes prime minister then good. If not, Leni Loud herself could easily call for a vote of no confidence in Bobong's leadership. Bobong will either have to resign or face the shame of being removed on live television.
If you're still reading the comments of Jason VOORHEES on Get Real Philippines then stop. Google how a real parliamentary system works. Google how the parliamentary system makes better politics. Don't rely on Internet haka haka if they're just misrepresenting their sources or can't give empirical evidence. A real parliamentary would've probably never allowed Bobong to stay that long in office IF he's an inutil.
