The Pinklawan Opposition Can Only Audit The BBM Government Under A Parliamentary Government

As both Rodrigo R. Duterte and Leni Loud Loud Robredo are now FORMER president and vice president - some may keep taking about the Marcos Wealth. The big issue with the Pinklawans wasn't that they endorsed Leni Loud. It's the problem that they still refuse to see how a parliamentary system would easily allow them to hold the BBM Government accountable. They're still too stuck with the Marcos Narrative rather than focusing on HOW TO FIX THE DAMAGE DONE BY THE MARCOS YEARS. Right now, if there's the desire to audit the BBM government then a parliamentary system would be able to do things better. It's because Michael Aguinaldo wouldn't be stepping down officially. Aguinaldo could have his new position as the Shadow Minister of Audit to Jose Calida's position as the Minister of Audit.

Bobong Marcos names Calida the new head of the Commission of Audit. Who can say Calida wouldn't be biased? Who can say Aguinaldo wasn't biased? Calida, as the Minister of Audit, presents the expense of the government. Meanwhile, Aguinaldo as the Shadow Minister of Audit will scrutinize Calida's data. Aguinaldo who is said to be very meticulous can make good scrutiny towards Calida. Aguinaldo now effectively becomes the watchdog of Calida in this regard.

The big difference between the presidential and parliamentary is this - where are the weekly debates in the parliamentary system? For those who insisted that the Marcos Years were a real parliamentary - the Cesar Virata was just a sitting duck according to the late Lee Kuan Yew. The late Ninoy Aquino even said, "We had a parliamentary without a parliament." If it were a real parliamentary system - when was the late Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. ever scrutinized? If we were in a real parliamentary - Bobong as prime minister would be scrutinized weekly. In short, it will prevent Bobong from becoming a tyrant like his father. Marcos Sr. could've been ousted by a vote of no confidence IF it were a real parliament. Yet, data has proven that Marcos Sr. was ousted as a PRESIDENT, Virata was nothing more than a glorified state secretary, and the 1973 Constitution's "parliament" was nothing more than for show.

You can imagine how easy it'd be to scrutinize the audit. Imagine it that Calida faces off against Aguinaldo EVERY WEEK. Aguinaldo gets all his documents out as the Shadow Minister of Audit. We just had a round of exchange between Bobong, Leni Loud, Sara Duterte-Carpio, and Kikoman Pangilinan. Now, it would be time to see the audit. Calida and Aguinaldo will now have a formal debate regarding the audit. Aguinaldo has the job to scrutinize Calida if the data indeed is correct and he must present data to counter any error. The opposition now has more direct scrutiny in their sacred duty to question the government from time to time.

Weekly questioning would change the way politics is done. There will be less time for individual press conferences and MORE TIME for lived televised debates. Yet, the Pinklawans somehow still remain stubborn. They have the nerve to quote Lee's book From Third World to First regarding the Marcoses bu they refused to learn from the rest. The book also cited that Virata was no real leader showing that the Philippine "parliament" was a mockery. If they want to really audit the second Marcos presidency - shift to parliamentary now!
