The Kakampink Opposition Can Only Hold The Uniteam Government Accountable In A REAL PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM

It's just a few days left before OUTGOING Vice President Leni Loud Robredo will be referred to as former vice president, right? June 30, 2022, will be the time when Bobong Marcos will be officially the 17th president. Now, the newest setting is that incoming Philippine president Bobong was voted by a MAJORITY VOTE, incoming vice president and outgoing Davao Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio are from the SAME PARTY (UNITEAM), Leni Loud has the second-largest votes, and now it's a MAJORITY VOTE. Unfortunately, the Kakampinks are still so UNEDUCATED about the parliamentary system. Like, how many times do I need to repeat that the MARCOS YEARS WEREN'T A REAL PARLIAMENTARY? Both the late Ninoy Aquino and the late Lee Kuan Yew already emphasized it. Ninoy mentioned having a parliamentary WITHOUT a parliament. Lee called Cesar Virata no political leader in his book From Third World to First. So really, what's the use of citing Lee's book if we refuse to follow the PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM saying it'd never work? The Marcos Years were a MOCK PARLIAMENTARY. Again, read it - MOCK PARLIAMENTARY.

Right now, the battle is seemingly over with the Kakampinks. However, under a parliamentary system, it would have just begun. The Kakampinks were frequently still "NO TO CHA-CHA!" or "1987 CONSTITUTION IS DA BEST IN THE WORLD"! Best sources? Some may even love to cite the seemingly defunct Pignoy Ako Blog by Jover Laurio. Others may love to cite Toady Casino of Bayad Muna. What the Kakampinks never realized is that their refusal to shift to parliamentary became their loss. Leni Loud may be stuck with doing non-government office (NGO) work for now. If Angat Buhay wants to become relevant (especially Leni Loud got the second largest votes in MINORITY) then why not form the Kakampink Opposition? If Kakampinks wants to say that the fight isn't over then it'll be true ONLY IN PARLIAMENT.

It would be a day if Bobong were sworn in as prime minister instead. The battle with his political nemesis Leni Loud will not stop during elections. Instead, the Kakampink Opposition will now LEGALLY MARCH into the Philippine Parliament with their rose flag. One side has Uniteam's flag led by Bobong. Meanwhile, Leni Loud will take her seat as the Opposition Leader. Bobong will have his team of appointed ministers. Leni Loud will have her team of appointed ministers. Each minister will have a corresponding shadow minister. Each shadow minister scrutinizes the Uniteam ministers. It would be one massive press conference where the Opposition holds the Government accountable EVERY WEEK. Just imagine it if #OtsoDiretso should realize they need a parliament to be fully heard. Just imagine it if Bum Aquino, Mar Roxas, or Flower Hilbay will get their chances to revive their once-intelligent brains EVERY WEEK.

The sitting arrangement is face-to-face. Just imagine it if we have the Speaker of the House (ex. Lord Allan Velasco) to moderate the two sides. The whole sequence will go with Bobong vs. Leni Loud to make their 7.5 minutes privilege speech. Yes, privilege speech EVERY WEEK. Just notice how the sitting arrangement goes that the majority bloc is DIRECTLY FACING the minority bloc. Bobong will make his opening remarks then Leni Loud makes her opening remarks. Sara will have her turn to follow by Kikoman Pangilinan. It would be an interesting LIVE BROADCAST where press conferences are no longer individual but simultaneous. Just imagine if you have the Philippine Mass Media in it. You'll have media companies ALL INVITED. I would suggest that even Rappler should be allowed to cover it even if I'm no fan of the website for some time. This would allow the news media to feature it. Reporters from these networks will have to be non-partisan since every detail is FILMED.

If the Kakampinks want to prove the Uniteam members wrong - a parliamentary system is the WAY TO GO. It's because Bobong must uphold the confidence of the whole legislative that he's worthy of the position of the executive. Leni Loud must now show that her party is can offer better alternatives. Leni Loud herself isn't outed because she lost the government seat. Instead, Leni Loud is given the chance to prove herself better than Bobong while she leads the Kakampink Opposition. The "gladiatorial" nature will be like this. There's a more easy way to get rid of Bobong - that's by a vote of no confidence. Leni Loud will hold Bobong accountable. However, should Bobong make excuses (such as faking an illness) then Leni Loud can say, "We the opposition request to call for a vote of no confidence against Marcos Jr.'s leadership." Should Bobong fail to uphold confidence - he can be OFFICIALLY BOOTED OUT without needing another EDSA Revolution to get rid of another Marcos.

It's because the Kakampinks will be the watchdogs of the Uniteam. Corruption at the Ministry of Revenue? Corruption at the Ministry of Health? Corruption at the Ministry of Audit? It could be answered when the shadow ministers hold the actual ministers accountable. We can imagine if Michael Aguinaldo as a shadow minister of audit will hold Bobong's minister of audit Jose Calida accountable. Aguinaldo will get to point out some of the irregularities he's found on Calida's report. It may be a typographical error or doctored data. Aguinaldo may say, "I'm afraid we have a typographical error here, unintended as it is. We have found that this data doesn't match. Meanwhile, everything is fine." or "Are you sure this isn't doctored? Last we checked, it wasn't that figure. How can the numbers increase so soon? Please explain to us." The Kakampinks will have the sacred duty to question the government AND hold it accountable BEFORE the public.

So seriously, what's the excuse for still rejecting a parliamentary form of government? Too focused on hearsay? Still believing the Marcos Years were a real parliament even after EMPIRICAL DATA PROVED IT WRONG? It would be best now to get the Kakampinks ready not to march in to protest Bobong's installation. Instead, let them hold Uniteam accountable EVERY WEEK in a parliamentary debate instead.
