Livin' The Antonio La Vina Loca

I don't know how long Rappler should even be considered a trusted source. Granted, some people in Rappler are still doing a better job than the others. Take Pia Ranada for example when she did a rather fair assessment of President Rodrigo R. Duterte in Japan. Then you've got Tony La Vina (hence the title of this post) who has written his [OPINION] piece called "No charter change during pandemic" where a highly educated man fails to see the point. Livin' La Vina Loca? Loca is the Spanish word for crazy. Loca is where Filipinos got the word loko which also means craz. La Vina Loca? Well, consider it a combination of Antonio La Vina and Loca as the title of this post.

Just reading his assessment on charter change (or better coined as constitutional reform) makes me wonder if the guy is really aware of the NEED for it to get funds. Trillions of pesos in debt from fighting off the COVID-19 is really why constitutional reform is really needed. He calls economic liberalization as "unilateral surrender". I wonder does he believe it or is he just plain dishonest for his own convenience? Don't give me any more of the "nationalism" thing because all the talk against economic liberalization is promoted by the oligarchy. Nationalism? It's more like a power struggle as written by Adolf Hitler in his book Mein Kampf or My Struggle. They just want power. Not surprisingly, La Vina is also a supporter of Kayabangan Partylist. That bitch Sarah Elago who supposedly hates free markets had a trip to Geneva, Switzerland. Talk about the double standard just like Joma Sison who hates free markets while he's hiding in the Netherlands. Voting for Kabataan Partylist?

Not to mention, La Vina's incredible failure of his intelligent mind would be supporting Pignoy Ako Blog's Jover Laurio. Is that idiotic platform all he has to come up with? It's crazy how Pignoy Ako Blog criticizes Duterte while failing to give alternatives. I'm amazed at how La Vina does admit that Jover is partisan in GMA-7's Fact or Fake. He thinks both partisan and non-partisan viewpoints are necessary. Unfortunately, I think both the Diehard Duterte Supporters and the Yellowtards are more harm than good. I've seen DDS and Yellowtards kill each other with uttermost stupidity. I think DDS spreading fake news and Yellowtards spreading fake news should both get charged depending on the gravity of the offenses. Jover's mixture of biased viewpoints is not helpful criticism at all. Not to mention, supporters of Jover are probably just as braindead or even more braindead than she is.

La Vina himself supporting both Kayabangan Partylist and Pignoy Ako Blog is indeed loca or crazy. What's worse is that saying that his article on charter change or constitutional reform seems to limit his mind. Are China and the USA the only countries on Earth to get foreign investment? The Philippines can get investors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore to name a few. The West can have Canada, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Does he even realize that Filipino businesses may actually BENEFIT form foreign investment in the long run? Not to mention, more businesses (both foreign and local) means MORE REVENUES for the government. Don't believe what Hindi Malaya Business Insight cartoonist Neil Doloricon has to draw about foreign investment. I wonder if Hindi Malaya Business Insight believes that lie about foreign businesses or are they misleading the public because they are presumably allies with the oligarchs?

If you want to believe the lies about La Vina's thoughts about economic liberalization - you're the one who's crazy. Maybe, you can sing "Livin' The Antonio La Vina Loca" for all you want. You can then enjoy your blunder and hopefully, you might want to enjoy the Philippines declining even further. But for me, enough is enough! The Philippines should not remain a dysfunctional sh*thole. What it needs badly now is SYSTEM CHANGE which will result in CULTURE CHANGE. Filipinos can be better. If Singapore and Malaysia can do it - I don't see any reason why the Philippines can't do it. So stop singing and dancing to the tune of "Livin' La The Antonio La Vina Loca" if you want a better Philippines.
