So, Commie Lawmakers Are "Defending Democracy" By Backing Up ABiaS-CBN License Renewal?

I remembered reading through Rigoberto Tiglao's expose on the Lopezes, communist fronts, and the Marcoses (I suggest reading it) in the Manila Times. I didn't realize that I would probably be sharing my own lowly opinion on the matter yet again. I may be no political analyst myself but it doesn't mean nobody bloggers like myself have no voice whatsoever. Just reading the whole expose revealing the possible double-crossing of the Lopezes blows my mind off. So, it turns out that they were jumping from one political party to another, they were also once Marcos cronies, and that they would later have an internal feud, then they would side with Ninoy Aquino who is also no hero either.

Now, is it ANY surprise that COMMUNIST lawmakers themselves are now backing for ABIaS-CBN's renewal? As it turns out, Trending Balita now reveals that leftist lawmakers are indeed backing up the renewal of ABiaS-CBN!

Just reading the said article has this statement that caught my mind off-guard:

According to the group, they are doing this to promote freedom of expression. “The non-renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise will cost the jobs of some 6,730 regular employees, 900 non-regular workers, and more than 3,325 talents, basing on the number of employees listed under the media corporation’s report to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Philippine Stock Exchange… Yet an even bigger ripple of the ABS-CBN shutdown is its cost to freedom of the press in particular, and to democracy in the country in general,” say the congressmen of the Makabayan bloc.

What's even funnier is when you read this statement by the leftist lawmakers:

"The shutdown of ABS-CBN due to a mere personal grudge by the Chief Executive is evocative of the forced shutdown of radio and TV stations during the Marcos martial rule in 1972," according to the leftist lawmakers.

Freedom of expression? I find that statement from COMMUNISTS to be rather stupid. If you read the history of communist countries like China, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela - you will see how freedom of expression is NEARLY NON-EXISTENT. Try to shout for your rights in a communist ran country? Well, prepare to get severely unjust punishments. You may consider losing your tongue or your fingers in a communist country for very petty reasons. That makes having communist lawmakers defend ABiaS-CBN in the name of democracy to be rather stupid. How can you also speak of freedom of the press when foreign media is NOT even allowed to ever invest in the Philippines? The result has been the mass media exploitation by the likes of ABiaS-CBN and GMA-7. I would even go as far as to think that the recent Philippine mass media and NOT President Rodrigo R. Duterte has become the REAL DICTATORSHIP. ABiaS-CBN news reporting is non-partisan? It's really laughable once you consider such as that they decided not to interview the DDS Youth Jim Paredes faced. Shouldn't you get BOTH SIDES of the story? Not to mention, they sensationalize the mistakes of anybody not on their side and have always been unfair and partisan while saying otherwise.

I would say the oligarch media has been the real dictatorship - not especially if they force you to watch their garbage shows. How are they the real dictatorship? You can consider how the oligarch media outlets are bullying SMALL TIME bloggers such as RJ Nieto and Krizette Lauretta Chu themselves. Small-time bloggers can be wrong and not take as much responsibility as MEDIA people. Reason? Small-time bloggers like myself only air their views. However, media people are required to be even more responsible because it's their job to INFORM THE PUBLIC WELL. Unfortunately, they would rather withhold information and do fact-checking only when it's convenient. Fake news from the Mocha Usok blog is no more fraudulent than the fake news from Pignoy Ako Blog, get it? How can you speak of freedom of the press when netizens are forced into silence all because they're just "journalist wannabes" or "political analyst wannabes"? Citizens today need to study the facts and have a voice. You don't need a degree in mass communications to share your opinion!

Those communist lawmakers still bringing up the Marcos years since 1972? I love to stress it that it's stupid to criticize Marcos while loving economic protectionism. That's why Marcos' remains deserved to be buried near Carlos P. Garcia with his "Filipino first policy". Marcos' system of crony capitalism is still practiced today in the form of the oligarchy. What the 1987 Constitution could've done was to repeal excessive restrictions towards foreign investors. Instead, they decided to further strengthen the stupidity of Marcos' crony capitalism with the 60-40 rule. Just remember neither the Marcos Years nor the Noynoying Years are the golden years, get it? Besides, how can it be the golden years if there are very little opportunites for jobs because "Filipino first policy" is in reality "My cronies first policy"!

One should always consider this that communism and democracy are two contrasting ideologies. Democracy is a government of the people, by the people, and of the people. How can you be truly democratic if you espouse economic protectionism instead of free trade that results in more jobs for the citizens? Communism meanwhile is a form of dictatorship formed by trying to enforce unrealistic goals. So really, why are communist lawmakers now saying ABiaS-CBN's renewal is for the protection of democracy? Stupid, isn't it? But as said communists just don't care if they contradict themselves as long as it SUITS THEIR NEEDS, right?
