What Reason Does Sarah Elago Of Kayabangan Party-List Have For Being Absent In The Most Recent Senate Hearing?
I remembered how I called Sarah Elago of Kabataan Party-List (Youth Party-List) as a delusional, self-entitled spoiled brat. Now, she has been noted to be absent from the latest Senate Hearing as called by Senator Bato Dela Rosa.
Here's an excerpt from the Philippine News Agency:
MANILA -- A ranking official of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF ELCAC) on Wednesday expressed disappointment over the absence of Kabataan Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago at a Senate hearing convened to look into the cases of minors who reportedly went missing shortly after being allegedly recruited by militant group Anakbayan.
"We were disappointed with the absence of Rep. Sarah Elago during the Senate hearing called by Senator (Ronald) Dela Rosa. We wanted her to explain how her organization, as well as the other Kamatayan (Makabayan) bloc organizations mentioned by the crying parents like Bayan Muna, are being patriotic (Makabayan) by causing the disappearance of their children, who are supposed to be in school," Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Deputy Chief-of-Staff for Civil-Military Operations, Major Gen. Antonio Parlade, Jr., said in a statement sent to the Philippine News Agency Wednesday.
Prior to their disappearance, Parlade said parents of the missing minors claimed that their children became liars and disrespectful.
This misbehavior of the children continued until these minors finally left home for good to join the underground movement.
"Many of these children have returned in cadaver bags, after joining the NPA (New People's Army) and fighting the government. Many have been exploited by this fake sense of nationalism, pushed to the hills and asked to sacrifice for the masses, while their representatives are enjoying the perks of their offices," Parlade said.
He added that Elago's presence in the hearing is very important so she can explain what she can do to help prevent more exploitation of these minors who are supposed to be studying in school.
So why is Rep. Elago absent on the most recent hearing called by Senator Dela Rosa? This gets me to assume that she may really be guilty of recruiting minors but that's something I can't verify. Senator Dela Rosa himself addressed that he wanted Rep. Elago herself was to explain how her organization Kabataan Party-List (better renamed as Kayabangan Party-List), as well as other similar organizations, are being "patriotic" by recruiting minors. Worse, the children have become liars and disrespectful before becoming missing and having joined these organizations. Since when did those Filipino activist groups have any real sense of respect for people anyway?
I would also agree with what Major Gen. Parlade said about this fake sense of nationalism as a shroud for their power-hungry behavior. Since when were those groups so nationalistic as they claim to be? Like I said if they were so nationalistic then why are they even using imported equipment for their cause? If they are so anti-capitalist then why are they using products of capitalism? They don't really care how contradictory they are as long as it suits their needs.Worse, she even has the nerve to cry harassment which again is your typical Filipino activist playing the victim card. It's not harassment to ask for the whereabouts of those misguided youth. If she were innocent then why act like the way she's acting?
Personally, I think Rep. Elago's absence may confirm her involvement in the missing minors. Why else do I think she's absent? Note that I haven't reached the conclusion yet and it's just speculation. I can't confirm her guilt either since I'm just another ordinary blogger expressing his views online. But what if said speculation was true about Elago's absence then?
