Can You Imagine Rep. Sarah Elago In The Weekly Question Hour?

Rep. Sarah Elago herself is probably a subject of jokes due to her demeanor. While whoever made that meme of her supposedly saying something she didn't say may need to apologize for misleading people (and I got misled by it too and for that, I apologize). However, I still want to imagine her in another hypothetical scenario. It's time to imagine her as a member of the Philippine Parliament. In this imaginary scenario, she would belong to Team Opposition under Opposition Leader Antonio F. Trillanes IV and she would be facing Prime Minister Rodrigo R. Duterte and the Government Bloc EVERY WEEK.

The job of the Opposition in the Westminister Parliamentary System is not just to criticize the Government Bloc but to also offer better alternatives. That means Opposition Leader Trillanes can't just criticize and criticize without proving anything and he has to offer better alternatives. For instance, Chel Diokno and Florin Hilbay could've not just pointed out Marawi's slow delay but also offer better alternatives so Prime Minister Duterte can get the job done on time.

Let's just imagine Rep. Elago herself having to attend the Weekly Question Hour. Everyone participating will be subjected to only 7.5 minutes of speech time during the said session. That means she would have to be well-prepared for it. Everyone has to present proof of one's claims and give better alternatives to the government. A good example is that she should give better alternatives on how to deal with children who are criminally charged and how to rehabilitate them if she says that children shouldn't be treated like adult criminals. She could also give alternatives to education laws for the lower-income household.

Just listening to her whine and screech -- can you imagine if she took it to a real formal debate than just a privilege speech where you've got a huge audience? The debates are televised and walking out would be bad for her image. Her walking out could cause a loss of confidence in her as an Opposition legislator. Would have Senator Bato Dela Rosa's investigation been a weekly question hour -- she would have her absence on record.

Either way, I can't imagine how she'd turn out in the said session. I guess that's why they're opposed to shifting to parliamentary for this reason, right?
