Can You Imagine If Prime Minister Duterte And Opposition Leader Trillanes Faced Off Against Each Other EVERY WEEK?

I did mention a while ago on whether or not you Antonio F. Trillanes IV can really survive the weekly question hour. The problem of the presidential system is that there's hardly any defined majority bloc vs. minority bloc. The parliamentary system defines it well when people vote members by parties rather than by persons. A good example is that the senatorial elections could have had #OtsoDiretso as one bloc and PDP-Laban as another block. Now, it's time to imagine a scenario of what if Trillanes had to debate against President Rodrigo R. Duterte every week and it's broadcasted for every Filipino to see live on TV.

Let's imagine Trillanes as the Opposition Leader and Duterte as the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Duterte must answer to the charges of Opposition Leader Trillanes. As mentioned some time ago -- all Trillanes does is Talk Ng Talk without proving anything. Now, just imagine Trillanes as a very corrupt Opposition Leader. He starts to manufacture evidence against Prime Minister Duterte hoping to unseat him and become Prime Minister himself. He may even be secretly conspiring with Deputy Prime Minister Leni Loud Robredo to unseat the current Prime Minister and call for a vote of no confidence.

However, the parliamentary would require weekly questioning. It would require Trillanes as Opposition Leader to prove his statements. Remember, the job of the Opposition in the parliament is not to destabilize the existing government but improve performance by pointing out mistakes and offering alternatives. Opposition Leader Trillanes will have to prove all his accusations against Prime Minister Duterte. The weekly questioning will also make sure Trillanes' trips will have to be put on hold. Plus, Opposition Leader Trillanes will have to give account to why he did his trips. President Duterte may be easily able to prove Opposition Leader Trillanes' off-shore accounts without having to purposely give a fake number.

Chances are Opposition Leader Trillanes is pretty much unprepared. This may cause the Opposition Side to request for a vote of no confidence on their side. The Opposition may lose faith in their leader because he isn't doing his job. Can you imagine if Opposition members would discover that they have been backstabbed by their leader? It would probably end up with the whole Parliament throwing Opposition Leader Trillanes to where he belongs -- in the garbage can!
