Let's Just Stop With The Duterte VS. Aquino Dichotomy And Focus On Constitutional Reform

Just because a person criticizes President Duterte doesn't make one a Dilawan. Just because a person criticizes Noynoy Aquino doesn't make one a Dutertard. Unfortunately, the presidential system is so full of idiots. There's a fine line between being a Duterte supporter and a Dutertard. Becoming a Dutertard is just as stupid as becoming a Noytard. It's just like that stupid senile 4Ps-obsessed old man who's a Noytard (but he's in denial) who only looks at the bad that President Duterte does and over-praises Noynoy as if the latter made no mistake. In truth, we can't deny that Noynoy did make important economic amendments in spite of the massive incompetence of his appointees. We can't deny that President Duterte has good aims but tends to be tactless and dirty-mouthed.

It's stupid to think that the call for Constitutional Reform to federal-parliamentary with free trade solely revolves around President Duterte. If there's any real reason why the Dilawans hate President Duterte -- it's because he's advocating for the reforms. Let him drop the reforms and maybe he will be on good terms with the Dilawans once more. Let Leni Loud Robredo switch her stance to federal-parliamentary with free trade and the Dilawans are 100% sure to throw her out of their support list. If there was any reason for the call of constitutional reform wasn't all about Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Rather, it was because of the desire to reform the 1987 Constitution into federalism, parliamentary form of government and complete removal of 60/40.

The call is not about Duterte until the last breath but a battle implementing constitutional reform. Noynoy's economic success was because he passed 29 economic reforms that gave investors their confidence in spite of his flaws. I may not like Noynoy but I can give him credit for that. The issue I have with him was that he could have passed a provision to completely dismantle 60/40 for good. President Duterte should correct that mistake by passing that economic provision. President Duterte should focus on implementing the three-point agenda. But he's not the only one capable of delivering it. In fact, I would still prefer someone with more dignity than President Duterte who's for the three-point agenda if said person is available.

The fight for reform can be flexible. Let's just say what if Bam Aquino (or any Liberal Party member) decided to finally get rid of the Aquino first policy and decided to finally shift to the CoRRECT Philippines' three-point agenda? What if Bongbong Marcos decided to finally shift to CoRRECT Philippines' three-point agenda? What if Alan Peter Cayetano finally got serious and decided to fight for it? There would be more alternatives. It would be better to have many alternatives towards the fight for federalism, parliamentary form of government and free trade than just for the advocated to say, "Leave it to President Duterte."
