The recent viral video of Bullyit (combination of the English word bully and the Tagalog word "liit" which means small) middle school student Joaquin Montes (who's also a taekwondo student) has finally surfaced. It doesn't matter how the Ateneo De Manila University would want it taken down -- what's done is done and this small but terrible brat is really getting all the criticism he deserves for what he did. Now he plays the victim card as he's getting the taste of his own medicine especially with all the inappropriate responses that have backfired at his arrogant face. But what people may be ignoring is that this situation is but a symptom of one thing -- Senator Francis Pangilinan's law that would increase the age of criminal liability is really stupid!
If you take a good look at the world today then you can see why the Pangilinan law is that stupid. I remembered reading documents of school shooting from one school after the other. Some school shootings also involve teenagers. The current Pangilinan law has not only allowed gangsters to recruit teenagers (as they take advantage of said law) but it has also helped form underaged bullies like Joaquin. Unfortunately, he's nothing like the short but terrible bullies back in my day. Back then, all the small bullies I've faced were just craving for attention or were bullied themselves but none of them ever did anything like Joachin did in the recent videos.
So what's really in this small but terrible guy's head? I guess he must feel very important especially I heard that his family may be close to the Cojuangcos and perhaps the Aquinos but that's still unverified. Ateneo De Manila itself has already shown several signs why you might want to think twice before enrolling there. A good example is how could it even praise the mediocrity of Jover Laurio's Pinoy Ako Blog to be award-winning. Laurio herself may play the victim but she has shown several signs that she's indeed a cyberbully -- something that she pretends to fight against and Joachin is trying to exactly pull the same stunt now that more evidence of his bullying has gone viral. If he's got powerful connections via his family (and maybe with the Dilawans and perhaps they share a close relationship with Senator Pangilinan as well) then that may explain why he's managed to go that far with his bullying inside Ateneo. Heck, maybe his parents were paying the victims' parents to shut up or else. I guess all that power and connection has made his head big.
Either way, I wonder what Senator Pangilinan has to say about how "great" his Pangilinan Law concerning minors and criminal accountability is as it's best called as child protective services gone wrong! All I can say is SHAME ON SENATOR PANGILINAN aside from SHAME ON JOAQUIN MONTES!
