My Thoughts On Bullyit's Expulsion From Ateneo De Manila

I may have gotten so facedesk at Ateneo De Manila's partisan politics and awarding Jover Laurio but at least I'm thankful for one thing they did right this year -- expelling Joachin "Bullyit" Montes from the school. This is not your normal case of bullyin. This guy may be short but he sure is terrible especially with how he misuses his expertise in Taekwando to physically bully others. Heck, even one taller student suffered an injury and from what I heard is already hospitalized.

This is the case of the spoiled brat Bullyit. He thought he could get away forever but it happened. He finally had the letter dropped at him by ADMU with the following notice which is taken from CNN Philippines by Bayang Pilipinas:

Above is a copy of the memo of the ADMU with regards to Junior High School student Bullyit whose name is unfortunately not mentioned -- perhaps due to his right as a minor. This should be something that maybe ADMU just wants to save face so they ended up expelling him. He's already done so many injuries. A student may get suspended for punching another student only if said physical act didn't injure anyone. Unfortunately, Bullyit's behavior is more than just a mere punch -- it's already an even greater act of assault. So why wasn't it immediately taken into action? Was the school even too afraid to deal with Bullyit himself? Probably but I can't be too sure of what really happened.

Is the expulsion of Bullyit the end of the story? No, it's simply the end of his chapter in ADMU as he can no longer enroll there. This would just be the start of a new series of drama such as the questioning of the Pangilinan Law regarding minors that they can't be criminally charged -- hence it allowed adult gang leaders to exploit them since they can't even be arrested. Sure, minors may not face the death penalty but they still need to spend time in jail for whatever crime they've committed. But not only that I've heard that some of the victims have already filed a police report charging Bullyit with assault. Also, if said guy is involved with drug dealing (which is suggested by one of the leaked videos) then the more that he may just be another tool used no thanks to the Pangilinan law.

This doesn't mean that Bullyit himself may be the only one liable. Since he's still a minor then the chances are that his parents or any legal guardian would eventually get charged for neglect and other related offenses. Just how did his parents raise him to the point that he became such a dangerous person in spite of his really short stature? If anybody can be blamed it would be the parents. Hopefully, Bullyit can be transferred to a correctional facility for minors who have broken the law. The Pangilinan law should be repealed otherwise we may get more incidents similar to Bullyit left not just in Ateneo but also in the whole Philippines. This would probably be a new chapter not just for Bullyit but also for his parents who have failed to raise him properly.

  1. The Pangilian Law should be amended, not repealed. If you put "Bullyit" in jail it's likely that some gang members will recruit and train him. What you need is a special institution where minor offenders get educated and treated. Inside the institution they should get educated in a way that they don't bully anynore but also should continue high school and even graduate there.

    1. Hmmm you do have a point. My plan is that minors who are criminally charged shold be sent to correctional facilities exclusively for them. What do you think?
