After the interview where Stephen Sackur actually grilled Maria Lourdes Sereno then another more likely candidate that may want to dare an interview is Maria Ressa. After all, didn't she win an award called the 2018 Golden Pen of Freedom Award? She should go and put that award into good use by actually appearing on BBC HARDtalk after Sereno's rather humiliating interview.
I actually wanted to see a one-on-one interview with Jover Laurio though it could get more interesting if Ressa herself would be the next guest. For what reason? The whole Rappler controversy itself could be the next heated topic aside from her award on whether or not she truly deserved to have it. For instance, Sackur may want to have figures and ask why did Rappler write thousands when CNN only said hundreds walked out. He may also point out the problem of Rappler's failure to pay its taxes properly or even question Ressa's claims of President Duterte is supposedly "repressing press freedom". Hmmm... maybe he might even ask why Communist activists are even joining in what would be a so-called fight for democracy or why she even allowed a Communist activist like Teddy Casino to be a guest writer when she's supposedly defending democracy.
I can't really tell how Ressa may answer these possible questions that Sackur would ask her. We can see how Ressa herself may want to actually defend the both Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV and Sereno from Sackur's grilling. It would be something if she will try and arrogantly face Sackur with her "know-it-all attitude". If she wants some Western opinion then she has to remember it won't always be on her side. She may have gotten some positive Western opinion but only from people who think like her. Sackur may end up grilling her instead and exposing just how she doesn't even deserve to get an award for freedom.
What about you? Do you want to see her on a future episode of BBC HARDtalk? Should she be made a fool in that program then maybe she might end up with a preposterous accusation that President Duterte is paying Sackur to defame her. Hmmmm... think about it!
