Aeta Is Now Part Of Get Real Philippines

Folks believe it or not -- the blogger of the blog called Fliptards (and I wrote a blog entry concerning this guy) who calls himself Aeta as his online name is now part of Get Real Philippines! This reminded me of the CoRRECT Philippines post where Orion Perez Dumdum made a comparison between Benign0 to Benigno Aquino III. Now it's time to talk about the Aeta again and some errors where he's basically clueless about some things. Aeta has officially written his first article at GRP where he talks about the Bamboo Network.

It's time to consider the reality of Aeta as a part of Get Real Philippines. Hmmm... should I pull and Dumdum's post here? Hmmm... here's something that Aeta wrote which could really be proof that he's clueless when it comes to conservative economics:

As much as I do admit that Aeta is indeed right in some areas but he missed the point in some areas. He has already rejected two instruments that could help the Philippine economy namely tourism and foreign investors. He has even gone as far as to show how much he doesn't realize that they are only bad for the economy if they aren't regulated with reasonable restrictions. It's just like how fire and water are necessary to survival yet they can also be bad for you if they are used without restraint. If he says he's just another Fliptard then he got that right -- but the question is has he figured out what's really wrong with the nation at a wider scale?

It's time to consider Aeta's arguments against tourism (where he says it's automatically bad for the economy) and foreign investors. Hasn't he heard of limiting privileges to people? Sure, I go against the 60/40 rule but I also go against wanton development. Some parts of the Philippines are better stayed as is such as farmlands and forests -- those areas are needed if you expect development to continue. He needs to see that I still understand that farmlands and forests are part of life. Foreign Direct Investors or FDIs won't automatically destroy them or mean that these places are gone. Forests must be maintained and kept because they supply the wood needed for lumber and paper. Farmlands must still be maintained for agricultural purposes such as supplying wheat, corn and rice for everyone. These are places where raw materials are produced -- so they must be preserved at all costs. But it seems that Aeta is still clueless as ever -- just like Benigno III and Benign0 are about economic policies.

What Aeta may not see is that the the foreign direct investors will only benefit the oligarchs because of one rule -- ECONOMIC PROTECTIONISM. Does he even know that foreign investors will only have 40%? If the oligarchs will have the 60% share then they basically own the FDIs -- the foreign partner has little to no control. Will he please get that into his head? The FDIs aren't necessarily always welcome. Also, there can be rules set like no lumber cutting during off-season peaks or that the beaches can be shut down for maintenance during off-season. I wonder does Aeta even know about maintenance policies?

Here's what Aeta needs to figure out and I hope he goes to progressive countries that are still clean and ran properly. Also, if he wants to blame FDIs as the source of woes for everything then he's dead wrong. China's current problem of pollution is not entirely on FDI but a lack of restrictions and overproduction -- not to mention the heavy pollution and traffic in Beijing can be blamed on a lack of restrictions concerning vehicle and gasoline purchase. He could try and take a look at some countries where FDI is very much welcome and yet they have maintained farmlands and forests. The Philippines' wanton destruction by the oligarchs can't be blamed on FDIs (who only own 40%) as a whole. One can think how the oligarchs grab here and there and have their mindset only on "money only" never mind that they are killing every golden goose that lays the golden egg -- whether it'd be the forests or farmlands. Without them, money would be worthless since what's the use of having lots of money if you can't buy food to eat? Money buys your food but it can't be eaten as a replacement for food.

As much as I do read Get Real Philippines but I don't agree with them everything 100%. It's just like I subscribe to Rigoberto Tiglao's posts but I still facedesk about his erroneous view on foreign investments. Sadly, as much as Benign0 is right about the Yellowtards but he doesn't see the need for constitutional reforms. Worse, why did GRP even allow that loser Aeta to even be part of their team? Yes, problems have to be addressed but criticizing without giving possible solutions can further aggravate the problems. It's good to point out what went wrong but not knowing how to do things right won't help the situation.

Right now, Aeta has a choice. Does he want to remain as "just another Fliptard" or will he get some effort to find out with exactly why the Philippines is like that? It seems to be that all he does is play the blame game like Squidward does in Spongebob Squarepants. Kudos to Marius for roasting Aeta with some truths that he badly needs to hear!
