Should Spox Harry L. Roque Be In Charge Of The Commission On Human Rights?

I was thinking about the appointment of human rights lawyer Atty. Harry L. Roque as the Presidential Spokesperson. Get Real Philippines even called him the kind of person Filipinos should support as palace spokesperson. But again just because I support President Rodrigo R. Duterte doesn't mean that I won't offer some criticisms. IMO, I thought about how Spox Roque himself threw some hollow blocks at Atty. Chito Gascon concerning how the Commission on Human Rights should function.

Filipinos need to think that the real problem may not be the CHR but Atty. Gascon. I thought about how Spox Roque addressed the issue that CHR should investigate all human rights violations. It should not limit itself to just state agents doing the crime but to all human rights violators. More importantly, Spox Roque is a human rights lawyer which makes him qualified to clean up CHR. He's not a pushover like Etta Rosales and he's delivering what needs to be delivered.

Maybe Spox Roque should have been the new CHR chairperson while they can find a competent presidential spokesperson. Atty. Gascon himself should have been fired too long ago. If the Congress finds Atty. Gascon's performance sub-par then fire the latter from his position. Spox Roque has addressed both former CHR head Senator Leila De Lima and Atty. Gascon have been exposed. A person who can do that may be the kind of person CHR needs to be remodeled from a nearly useless agency into a research body that will help keep the necessary check and balance.
