#EDSAIsDead Because Of The Decades Long Suffering Brought By The 1987 Constitution

It's already the first of March and it's past EDSA Revolution but WTH -- it's not like as if I can't bring this up, can I? It's time to consider the real problem of EDSA. I still remember how Lourd De Veyra keeps saying that Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. should be blamed for the decades of suffering brought in by Filipinos. But really? It has me thinking about how Japan was bombed in 1945 AND it rose up as a growing economy in 1955. So what does this have to do with #EDSAisDead?

We need to consider the promised change. After the downfall of Marcos, these guys promised progress but where's the huge progress? It's almost as nonsense if not just as nonsense as Mao Zedong's fiasco called the Great Leap Forward in China. Instead, they wrote a defective constitution called the 1987 Conjobstitution. The defects were brought in by these three major features - popularity based presidential elections, economic protectionism which only strengthened the oligarchs and the Imperial Manila system. It has allowed stupid people to get into power because they're popular, it restricted job opportunities for Filipinos and it has significantly slowed down progress in the Philippines because everything must pass through Manila.

The world was fooled by the Liberal Party for a long time. After all, the only access the international community had back then was the Philippine mainstream media -- all controlled by the Dilawans. What's the use of whining about Marcos' control of the media if the Aquinos are guilty of doing just the same? It even allowed the international community to see Corazon C. Aquino as some of kind of heroine and give her many awards. But the question is did she deserve those awards? Maybe it's more than time to posthumously revoke those awards. But first the truth behind the Aquinos must be made known to the international community before that can be done - providing sufficient evidence to why those awards should be revoked.

The suffering brought was plain and simple. More stupid people come into power only because they're popular resulted to more stupidity. For instance, an idiot like Senator Francis Pangilinan only got into power because of his marriage to Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan. Athletes get into the Senate even if they know nothing about politics. Instead of focusing on policies such as easing economic restrictions -- they are too focused on paranoia. A good example is how Hilario Davide Jr. thinks that foreign investors are foreign invaders. You also have idiots like Neri Colmenares who thinks federalism is a form of centralization aside from his constant bitching against free trade.

This has resulted to the downfall of EDSA for that reason. 30 years and no real change for the better. Instead of taking action all they do is blame Marcos and the after-effects of his regime. While we can understand that every new administration inherits the mess of the previous administration (ex. President Duterte inheriting the mess left behind by Noynoy Aquino) but one should focus on fixing the mess instead of blaming it for your current problems. For those who want to say, "But it's Noynoy's achievement that we have a better economy" but here's the question. Would you count all the unaccounted for failures such as the MRT deterioration and heavy traffic done during Noynoy's time as part of this so-called golden age?

It's time to face the reality. The Dilawans brought it upon themselves. #EDSAisDead because of them. The majority is no longer in their favor. One of the deadliest things in politics is relying on the crowd. The crowd can change its tide anytime. The people that once voted Noynoy into power have now voted for President Rodrigo R. Duterte into power. Most of the crowd has left EDSA because of all of the broken promises of the Liberal Party.
